We've taken our three cats to Dr. K. since we moved to the area in 2016, and I wouldn't have it any other way. You want your vet to be an animal lover and advocate, to care deeply about what they do, and to show compassion, empathy, and affection to their charges. Dr. K. embodies all of this and more. She bends over backwards for clients and goes out of her way to provide quality care. We love her and Kayla!

Welcome to Harvard Family Pet Clinic
For pet owners in Harvard, Massachusetts, and surrounding communities, **Harvard Family Pet Clinic** operates as a local "Pet Hospital" dedicated to providing veterinary care for beloved companion animals. Like all veterinary practices, their aim is to support the health and well-being of pets, and they strive to be a reliable resource for a range of medical needs, from routine check-ups to addressing specific health concerns.
The clinic is located at **259 Ayer Rd, Harvard, MA 01451, USA**. As a physical "Pet Hospital," the environment at Harvard Family Pet Clinic would typically include a reception area, examination rooms, and potentially areas for diagnostics, surgery, and hospitalization. While specific details about the interior design or layout are not extensively detailed in the provided information, a pet hospital generally aims to provide a functional and hygienic space for veterinary procedures. The experience within this environment, however, can be subject to individual interactions and perceptions, as highlighted by varied customer feedback. One review praises the clinic's staff and environment for facilitating compassionate and affectionate care, suggesting a positive atmosphere, while another describes a different experience, implying discomfort for a pet within the clinic setting.
The **services** offered by Harvard Family Pet Clinic, typical of a general "Pet Hospital," would encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care for dogs and cats. Based on the nature of pet ownership and general veterinary practice, these services would likely include:
- **Routine Wellness Examinations:** Regular check-ups are fundamental to preventative care, assessing overall health, and establishing baselines.
- **Vaccinations:** Administering necessary immunizations to protect pets from common infectious diseases.
- **Preventative Medicine:** Guidance and products for parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworm) and nutritional advice.
- **Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses:** Addressing various health conditions, from minor ailments to more complex medical issues. This would involve physical examinations, and potentially diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams.
- **Management of Chronic Conditions:** Providing ongoing care and support for pets with long-term health challenges.
- **Minor Surgical Procedures:** While not explicitly stated, general pet hospitals typically perform routine surgeries such as spays, neuters, and minor mass removals.
- **Dental Care:** Providing professional dental cleanings and addressing oral health issues.
- **Client Education:** Offering advice and information to pet owners on various aspects of pet care, including nutrition, behavior, and preventative measures.
The reviews indicate a focus on comprehensive care, as seen in the treatment of a dog for bandage removal, which implies post-surgical or injury care, and the overall management of cats over an extended period. The sentiment of "going out of her way to provide quality care" suggests a dedication to thorough and effective treatment.
The **features** that distinguish Harvard Family Pet Clinic are primarily centered around the individual attributes of their staff, particularly **Dr. K.** and **Kayla**. According to a long-term client who has entrusted them with the care of three cats since 2016, Dr. K. is described as an exemplary veterinarian. Key features highlighted by this positive feedback include:
- **Deep Animal Love and Advocacy:** Dr. K. is lauded as an "animal lover and advocate," implying a strong ethical commitment to the well-being of her patients.
- **Profound Care and Compassion:** She is noted for caring "deeply about what they do," and demonstrating "compassion, empathy, and affection to their charges." This indicates a genuine emotional investment in the animals under her care, which is crucial for building trust with both pets and owners.
- **Dedication to Quality Care:** The phrase "bends over backwards for clients and goes out of her way to provide quality care" suggests a willingness to invest extra effort and time to ensure the best possible outcomes for her patients. This level of dedication is a significant positive feature.
- **Positive Interaction with Animals:** The mention of Dr. Patti (likely a typo, referring to Dr. K. based on context) playing with a cat using catnip and a laser pointer illustrates an effort to create a positive and calming experience for pets during visits, which is invaluable for anxious animals.
- **Consistent Long-Term Relationships:** The fact that a client has stayed with the clinic for over eight years and wouldn't "have it any other way" underscores the establishment of strong, trusting relationships based on consistent positive experiences.
However, it is important to provide an objective introduction. Another review highlights a contrasting experience, suggesting that some clients may perceive shortcomings in staff interactions and responsiveness. Concerns about staff being "short" and not taking concerns seriously, leading to "extreme discomfort" for a pup, and issues related to billing, indicate areas where client experience can vary. The experience of a dog "trembling" during a visit and the blame being placed on the owner points to challenges in handling anxious animals or communicating effectively with owners in certain instances. This suggests that while there is strong positive sentiment from some clients, other experiences may differ regarding communication, client service, and handling of sensitive situations. It is important to acknowledge both perspectives to provide a balanced overview of the clinic's features as perceived by the public.
Regarding **promotional information**, the most compelling aspect for Harvard Family Pet Clinic appears to be the strong positive endorsements from satisfied long-term clients. The enthusiastic recommendations for Dr. K. and Kayla serve as powerful word-of-mouth marketing, likely attracting new clients who prioritize compassionate and dedicated veterinary care. The positive review effectively promotes the clinic's core values: deep care for animals, knowledgeable staff, and a willingness to go the extra mile. The phrase "We love her and Kayla!" conveys a strong sense of personal connection and trust. While specific online advertising or special offers are not detailed, the clinic's primary promotional strength lies in the loyalty and advocacy of its devoted client base. Potential new clients might be drawn by the promise of a veterinarian who embodies compassion and acts as a true "animal advocate." The direct contact information, **(978) 772-6607** or **+1 978-772-6607**, serves as the primary means for individuals to reach out, inquire about services, and schedule appointments to experience the care provided by Harvard Family Pet Clinic. The presence of varied feedback on review platforms indicates that prospective clients may encounter a range of experiences, and the clinic's ongoing reputation is built on the sum of these interactions.

Feb 23, 2025 · Lauren BrownI was always treated poorly here. Finally got to reviewing. The staff were always short with me and did not take my concerns seriously which lead to extreme discomfort for my pup. They acted like I never paid for services when I always paid on time which I never understood. My dog was trembling when we went to get bandages removed and I was heartbroken. They said it was my fault she was scared. Thankfully she’s been great at her new veterinarian (somehow not traumatized and trembling) even after getting a spay. Embarrassed to say I let them do this to my dog at Harvard Family.
Jul 21, 2022 · MorganI am an actual client of Harvard Family Pet Clinic and have been for 2 years. I can say that the misinformation being posted about Dr. Koretsky couldn’t be farther from the truth, and that the people leaving negative comments have not ever been to this clinic, nor do they even live in the same state. I came on here to share my input as Dr. K is not only my veterinarian but she has become my friend in the 2 years that I have been her client, and it is hurtful to see people spreading lies about her and her business. Dr. Koretsky is an advocate for all animals, including service animals being used correctly. Since leaving my original review (below), I have adopted a second kitten and continue to go to Harvard Family Pet. In the years that I have known her, she has been nothing but a fantastic veterinarian, and I would not go anywhere else. The comments from my original review remain, and I also want to add that Dr. K takes the time on her days off to help me when I need assistance or have questions. I don’t know of anyone who has a veterinarian that they can contact on a day off and/or over the weekend, and get a fast response. I would give her 100/5 stars if I could!! She has done countless things outside of her normal business hours to ensure my pets are receiving the best care, and that is the type of person she actually is. I hope that anyone reading negative comments about the clinic will not let that deter them from choosing this clinic for their pets, and will listen to an actual client. My pets are literally my children and I would not trust anyone else with them. My cats are both healthy and thriving. My original review is below: I adopted my first kitten almost a year and a half ago, and chose this pet clinic because I was looking for a smaller practice. As a first-time cat mom, I had a million questions at the beginning, and still continue to have ongoing questions about the best way to care for my cat. He is my baby, and I always want to make sure I am doing the very best for him. Dr. K and Kayla have always been super helpful and patient with me. They always take the time to explain anything and everything to me, whether it is in-person, via email, or over the phone. I am experiencing a lot of things for the first time, so I like that they don't make me feel silly for asking questions, and are always available to make recommendations. I never feel rushed during appointments, as they take the necessary time to provide care and make sure any questions are explained. A few months back, I had an emergency with my cat and they were available to answer my questions after-hours, got me scheduled first thing the following morning, provided an emergency room referral, followed-up with the emergency vet, and handled my pet insurance claim (immediately). I am very happy with this pet clinic, and I feel that I would not get the same level of care at a larger facility. They are very prompt with getting back to me whenever needed, flexible with scheduling appointments, and have very fair prices. I trust them completely with the care for my baby, and I highly recommend this vet clinic!
Feb 05, 2024 · JaclynWe have been taking our pets (2 dogs and a cat) to Dr. Koretsky for about the last 5 years. She is a fabulous veterinarian who is most concerned about what's in the best interest of your animal companion. She doesn't rush and makes a special effort to take all the time needed to listen to your questions and explain your pet's health and treatment options. Kayla helps Dr. K run this small clinic in a very personalized way and she's always happy to help you in a very prompt way whether you need a prescription filled, records sent, a referral made, or with her gentle caring manner when helping Dr. K treat your pet. I would highly recommend Harvard Family Pet Clinic to anyone in the local area who is looking for personalized service and care in a place where you feel like part of their Family!
Sep 19, 2022 · Mark WeberIf a medical professional is immature enough to leave hate comments and callout posts on the internet against a disabled person, she is not mature enough to treat your family members. The stuff she said should be a career ender. I wouldn't trust her with my pup if she were the only vet within 200 miles. I'd rather make the drive to someone more compassionate and less childish.
