I have taken my kitten Juniper here twice now for her shots. They are a little more expensive and I barely got a few words in with the vet himself. The wait time is insane, both times I come in for the appointment and have had to wait 20+ minutes the first time and 30+ the more recent time. The rooms reek of cleaner which is a slight concern. They don't always answer the phone and you will have to call back later. Positive: I had the same secretary and nurse both times and they are both very nice. The secretary is kind and explains all the information and will give and explain extra pamphlets if interested. The nurse I have gotten is really sweet and friendly to Juniper, she calls her Tiny Tot, which is funny. She works well to give shots and examine for check ups, understanding my cat and making the experience not scary for her. I don't know either of their names which is sad because they are great. I have attached photos of Juniper (my cat) here, including two of her first visit.

Understanding the importance of accessible and reliable pet care within our community, we aim to offer a comprehensive approach to your pet's needs.

While specific details about the hospital's environment and available goods for sale are not explicitly provided in the given information, we can infer aspects based on the customer reviews and general practices of pet hospitals. Typically, a pet hospital environment is designed to be clean and functional, prioritizing the health and safety of the animals. Examination rooms are standard for consultations and check-ups, and the presence of a reception area for scheduling and administrative tasks is expected. Based on one review mentioning the smell of cleaner, it suggests that the hospital prioritizes hygiene, although the intensity of the smell was noted as a concern by one customer.

As a Pet Hospital, Granite City Pet Hospital's primary focus is on delivering veterinary services. The positive review highlights that Dr. Jeff and his staff offer consultations and diagnoses, as evidenced by the experience of a Chihuahua/Yorkie who wasn't feeling well. The reviewer specifically praised Dr. Jeff for clearly explaining the pet's condition, instilling confidence in the diagnosis. This suggests that the hospital offers diagnostic services and veterinary expertise to address various health concerns in pets.

The reviews also shed light on the interpersonal aspects of the services provided. The positive feedback regarding the secretary and nurse is noteworthy. The secretary is described as kind and helpful, providing information and additional resources to pet owners. The nurse is commended for being sweet and friendly, particularly towards a kitten named Juniper, making the experience less stressful for the animal. This highlights the importance of compassionate and patient care provided by the support staff.

However, it's important to acknowledge the areas where some customers have reported less satisfactory experiences. One reviewer mentioned that the veterinary consultation felt brief and that the hospital's pricing was perceived as slightly higher. Additionally, this customer experienced significant wait times for scheduled appointments, ranging from 20 to 30 minutes. Another point of concern raised was the difficulty in reaching the hospital via phone, suggesting potential issues with phone communication and responsiveness.

Dr. Jeff and his staff are amazing! I brought my Chihuahua /Yorkie into the hospital to be checked out because she wasn't feeling well! They went above and beyond to help her feel better. Dr Jeff was very good about explaining what was wrong with her. I left the hospital feeling confident in her diagnosis. Thank you Dr Jeff and your staff for making me and my dog feel very comfortable!

I've never owned a pet, and we recently acquired our neighbor's cat. Staff were super friendly and didn't make me feel silly asking a bunch of questions. You can feel that they truly do love animals.

Dr. Nelson deserves NO stars. Albeit, it has been 10 years, to the date, since our 9-year-old Mauzer named Gypsy left us, we still miss her very much. Dr. Nelson examined Gypsy on a Friday for a heart rate of 160 BPM for over 12 hours. She waited all day to be seen and discharged without any med to slow her heart rate or to calm her. A member of the Minnesota Board of Veterinarians told us she would not send a horse home with that heart rate. Dr. Nelson DID NOT express any concern that she was dying or offer to hospitalize her. Early morning, the following Monday, after suffering more than 48 hours, Gypsy passed.

They're amazing. My dog actually LOVES coming here. If he gets poked, no biggie. They're thorough and reasonable, seeming to stick to mathematical principles where it matters. Dr. Nathan and all the nurses and staff are incredible. This is the only place I'm going to bring my dog from here on out. No more budget farm vets for him. Dr. Nathan is the man. He seems to almost have a sixth sense about him. When he touches your animal friend it's like he suddenly knows all about them. He has a gift and I wish I could rate this place higher. They're not even expensive that's what GETS ME. Care is Affordable and thorough and consent oriented, and compassionate as well. Truly, this is...wow.
