EDIT: went here for the second time, unfortunately not for me. I took my cat in for throwing up and anxiety, just moved apartments and added a new cat—so I had a good idea it’s likely stress related but We wanted to make sure it wasn’t anything else. Got there and the vet tech asked me why I brought my cat early since her vaccines weren’t due until November—told her this was not an annual exam but a check up on new things which I had explained over the phone already. The doctor comes in and heard previously Izzy tried to bite someone and didn’t want to do an exam unless I really, really wanted to. They also didn’t want to trim her nails. I’ve taken my cat to SouthShore in forest lake since she was born for ear cleaning, nail trimming, and all her exams—she’s a regular there and they are professional and skilled to do all of that for my cat and she’s never hurt anyone. This place is not for me. I thought I’d cut the commute and do something closer by but I’d rather drive 40 min to her old vet. I work in healthcare too, I know no one wants to get hurt or bitten but to not even try? My cat was in her carrier the whole time sleeping or eating snacks—they did not look at her or even weigh her. At the end of it all I got a bill for an “exam.” I emailed them about this and said the doctor took time on giving her expertise (recommended a pheromone diffuser which I bought) —-but it would have been $85 dollars with or without a physical exam? The doctor said based on the past exam, we don’t need to do another one—-yet I’m charged for an exam. I clearly do not mind paying for my cat’s care, but what care was this? Original: Just took my kitty here for an exam and the staff there was excellent! I have a spicy kitty that does not like the vet. They were so gentle with her and thorough with her exam. The doctor that helped us was great at explaining what they were doing and why. I definitely recommend this place!

Mar 25, 2025 · Tiffany VangWe’ve been taking our two cats to Grand Ave Vet for as long as we’ve had them - 5+ years - and have only good things to say about the staff and our experiences here. All of the front desk employees, vet techs, and vets we’ve worked with have been friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and communicative, and they take care of our cats like they were their own. Once we became established clients, scheduling is usually accommodating, and I appreciate the back parking lot!
Jan 29, 2025 · Natalie Terlinden-HelgesonGrand Ave Vets has been our family clinic for the last two+ years. They have been amazingly supportive and informative about our best girl's needs. They always take time to answer as many questions as we have (which is often a lot) and so obviously care for their patients. We would like to give a special shout-out to Dr. Blackmon and our vet tech Madison who spent most of their day recently watching our girl who had a bad reaction to anesthesia. They had endless patience as they explained (and re-explained) what our next steps could be with audible care for her well-being in their voices.
Mar 13, 2025 · Forrest KnappI had a wonderful experience at this vet clinic. The environment is incredibly welcoming, and the staff is both knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly. My pup and I felt truly cared for throughout our visit. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!
Oct 18, 2023 · Corina ValenciaMy kitten was squinting his eye, had discharge, and kept pawing at his eye. I called in the morning and they were one of the only clinics in the area able to get him in same day. All the staff were very kind and informative. This was my babies first vet visit and I was very pleased with how comfortable he was in the office. I plan to continue taking him to this clinic as long as we are in the area. Also, the snoopy statue on the front lawn is adorable!
