Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital

I’m writing this review after being a customer for several years. I was taking my dog and cat here for any medical problems and check ups. Now that my dog is a senior, I wanted to find a vet that was more compassionate and personable and took their time with my old girl. A few experiences I’ve had: My dog had a vestibular disease episode in November 2024 and when we went to go get blood work done, I let them know that she wasn’t able to walk and the receptionist staff was insensitive to this when I requested if they could take her blood in the vehicle versus bringing her. Another thing that is upsetting is that I just found a new Animal Hospital for my dog and they’ve told me that she has pretty bad arthritis. I’ve taken my dog to Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital at least four times in 2024 and this was never mentioned to me during her check ups I never saw a thorough exams done which is a shame for the price that is being charged. Finally my dog recently lost some weight and when I took her to get a routine vaccine for her itching and allergies, I noticed that she was still itching two days later which had not happened before. I called and they didn’t explain why. It wasn’t until I got her medical history (after requesting it to switch veterinarians) that I saw a note that said her dosage was reduced due to her weight class changed. This was never verbalized to me. Overall, I’ve switched over to another clinic and the difference in compassion and communication is light and day. The only upside that I have for this hospital is that they have pretty good availability to see your dog if it’s an emergency.

I've been coming here for years. They have been the primary care for 7 family dogs and 2 cats. Their level of skill and professionalism is always unmatched. But specifically, I would like to call attention today to them being super accommodating. When we suspected, our cat may have ingested something that could have caused a very life-threatening situation. Either poison or a mouse that had been poisoned was our biggest concern. Within minutes of talking to the ladies at the desk, we had a plan of action, an appointment set, and he was seen within the hour. If there was ever an organization that deserved more than five stars, Glenn Ellyn Animal Hospital is the one. A huge thank you to the ladies at the front desk and his veterinarian, who was amazing. Anyone wishing for an update.. Oakley is now resting comfortably and awaiting his follow-up appointment, which is tomorrow.

Dr Rachel Hiatt is amazing! We needed a second opinion about our dog's health and she was able to answer every question while providing recommendations. Kind, caring, understanding, Rachel is someone I trust and highly recommend. Her compassion and understanding made a big difference on how we navigate difficult times as a pet owner.

Absolutely amazing staff and doctors. Customer service is top notch. They truly care about your pet. Haven't been to a better veterinarian office in all my years of having animals. Beyond grateful for Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital!
