We have been clients with Glade valley for years. In this time, the original veterinarian retired. Another veterinarian took his place, but then she left. This clinic now has a third owner/veterinarian/staff...and they are AWFUL. Sadly, this clinic is absolutely not up to the standards at all that it used to be. Our cat was experiencing difficulty breathing. We took him in, the veterinarian did a half-assed examination and barely listened to his heart and lungs, spent the rest of the examination talking to me about his concerns with my cat's eye condition (that was addressed in previous visits with the other veterinarians), then told me my cats breathing issues were more than likely due to crystals in my cat's urine because he had a history of having that problem and the breathing difficulty was because he was in pain. Uh. Ok. That doesn't make sense to me. This is when my red flags started going up. I could tell this doctor didn't have a clue. You're concerned about my cats urine when I'm telling you he can't breathe. A few hours later, my cat is still really struggling to breathe. I took him to an emergency vet clinic. They can immediately see he's in critical distress and get him on oxygen. Sure enough, he has congestive heart failure. How do we go from 'your cat probably has crystals in his urine' to 'your cat has congestive heart failure'. This new veterinarian at Glade spent a total of 10 minutes looking at my cat, didn't look in my cat's mouth and see his gums were white because he wasn't getting enough oxygen, didn't offer any blood work, nothing. He just listened to his heart and lungs for two seconds and said his lungs and heart were fine. He didn't even offer pain medicine for his original diagnosis that his problem with breathing was due to pain from crystals in his urine. If you think he's in that much distress that he can't breathe why not send us home with SOMETHING?? Unfortunately, at the second clinic we ended up saying our goodbyes to our sweet kitty. His fluids around his heart were just too much (which they were able to hear right away using a stethoscope and this was only three hours after my visit with Glade Valley). Pet parents beware: this clinic is not what it used to be. We still have a dog in our family and I'm calling tomorrow to have his records transferred to another clinic. I'll be damned if I subject another of my fur babies to that shoddy care.

Welcome to Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic

Welcome to the introduction of Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 2012 Northpark Dr, Humble, TX 77339, USA. You can reach them at (281) 358-9070 or +1 281-358-9070 for inquiries about their services. It is important for local users to be aware that Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic has experienced changes in ownership and veterinary staff over the years, which has resulted in mixed feedback from pet owners.

One recent review expresses significant concern and disappointment with the current state of the clinic. A long-term client recounts a distressing experience where their cat, exhibiting difficulty breathing, allegedly received a superficial examination from the new veterinarian. The reviewer states that the veterinarian focused on a pre-existing eye condition rather than the acute respiratory distress. The initial diagnosis provided was suspected urinary crystals causing pain, which the pet owner found illogical given the breathing difficulties. Tragically, the cat's condition worsened rapidly, and a subsequent visit to an emergency veterinary clinic revealed severe congestive heart failure. The emergency clinic staff reportedly diagnosed this immediately upon examination, noting fluid around the heart, a condition allegedly missed during the Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic visit just three hours prior. The reviewer explicitly warns other pet owners about a perceived decline in the clinic's standards and mentions transferring their other pet's records due to this negative experience.

Conversely, another recent review offers a positive perspective on the care provided at Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic. This pet owner shares a successful outcome following surgery on their 16-year-old chipoodle to remove a significant mass. They commend the staff for going "beyond measure" for their dog and highlight the veterinarian's practice of calling directly to explain any issues. This reviewer also mentions positive experiences with their 14-year-old lab and wholeheartedly recommends the clinic as a "great veterinarian practice."

Given these contrasting recent experiences, it is challenging to provide a definitive assessment of the current environment and overall quality of care at Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic. Potential clients should be aware of the varying opinions and consider their individual pet's needs when making a decision. It may be prudent to inquire specifically about the current veterinary staff's experience and qualifications.

As a Pet Hospital, Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic likely offers a range of services that are typical for such facilities. These generally include surgical procedures, as evidenced by the successful mass removal surgery mentioned in one of the reviews. Surgical services can range from routine procedures like spaying and neutering to more complex operations depending on the clinic's capabilities and the expertise of the veterinarians on staff.

Veterinary clinics also typically provide medical treatments for various illnesses and conditions. This would involve diagnosing ailments, prescribing medications, and providing ongoing care as needed. The stark contrast between the two reviews highlights the potential variability in the accuracy of diagnoses and the thoroughness of examinations that pet owners might experience at this clinic under the current ownership and staff.

Preventative care is another essential aspect of services offered by most Pet Hospitals. This includes routine wellness examinations, vaccinations to protect against common diseases, and parasite prevention (such as flea, tick, and heartworm control). It is advisable for potential clients to inquire about the clinic's approach to preventative care and the specific protocols they follow.

Diagnostic services are crucial for identifying health issues in pets. These often include laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams, as well as imaging techniques like X-rays. The negative review raises concerns about the thoroughness of diagnostic procedures currently being employed at the clinic, as a critical condition was allegedly missed during an initial examination.

Dental care is also an important component of comprehensive pet health services. Many veterinary clinics offer dental cleanings, examinations, and treatment for dental diseases. Prospective clients may wish to inquire about the availability and quality of dental services at Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic.

Regarding the environment of Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic, the provided information does not offer specific details. Typically, a veterinary clinic would have examination rooms, surgical suites (if surgery is performed), a reception area, and potentially boarding facilities. Cleanliness and a comfortable atmosphere are usually important considerations for pet owners. Given the mixed reviews, it would be beneficial for potential clients to visit the clinic in person to assess the environment and the overall feel of the practice.

Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. It is common for veterinary clinics to offer introductory specials for new clients or promotions on certain services. Local users interested in Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic should contact them directly to inquire about any current offers that may be available.

In conclusion, Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic in Humble, TX, is a Pet Hospital that has undergone changes in ownership and staffing, resulting in divergent experiences for pet owners. While one recent review praises their surgical capabilities and the caring nature of the staff, another recounts a deeply concerning experience involving a missed critical diagnosis with fatal consequences. Local users should carefully consider these contrasting perspectives and conduct their own due diligence, potentially including a visit to the clinic and direct communication with the current veterinary team, before entrusting the care of their pets to Glade Valley Veterinary Clinic. It is essential to ensure that the chosen veterinary provider meets your expectations for thoroughness, expertise, and compassionate care.

They just did surgery on our 16 year old chipoodle, removed a massive 3 oz mass and she is doing great, she is healing very well and the staff really went beyond measure for our dog. My wife loves that the Dr will call her directly to explain what are any issues. We have also taken our 14 year old lab to them. They are a great veterinarian practice we highly recommend taking your animals too!!

Treated me like garbage because my cat was sick. Took ages to get back to me with results (I understand being busy but I was told the next morning) I was told an estimate or $300 then charged $600 no one discussed any of this with me. At any point. No costs were told to me. Nothing. Then when I asked for records they took forever to send them to me. When my normal vet called for records they never got back. So what exactly did I pay $600 for? My cat is still sick and I had to take her to another vet.

Dr. Meschler really cares about your pets. He gave us plenty of personal attention and discussed my concerns thoroughly. On-time appointments and prices are reasonable and I was fully informed of each charge.
