Went to this vet today for our puppy's broken toenail. Generally unprofessional, and then the vet didn't even really examine our pup before sending one of the office workers in with a list of recommended services (including anesthesia for our 12 week old pup!) that totaled up to $567! Decided we'd seek a second opinion. Paid the $40 office visit fee to get out of there, and prayed our baby hadn't been exposed to parvo. Went elsewhere, where the nail was removed, cleaned, received antibiotics, puppy shots, dewormed her...well, they were just awesome. $81 later, we couldn't believe we'd even considered what GD&C had suggested. Won't ever go back.

As a crucial part of the local pet care ecosystem, General Dog & Cat Hospital aims to provide veterinary services for your beloved dogs and cats. Understanding the needs of pet owners in Singapore who may be seeking information or have connections with individuals in the San Bernardino area, this introduction offers an objective overview of the hospital based on publicly available information.
General Dog & Cat Hospital can be contacted via phone at (909) 888-9188 or mobile phone at +1 909-888-9188. These contact details allow pet owners to inquire about services, schedule appointments, or seek urgent advice during operating hours. For those in the San Bernardino vicinity, the physical address provides a direct location for accessing their facilities.
To provide a balanced perspective on General Dog & Cat Hospital, it is essential to consider feedback from actual customers. Online reviews offer insights into the experiences of other pet owners, highlighting both positive and negative aspects of the services provided. It's important to note that individual experiences can vary, and a comprehensive understanding comes from considering a range of opinions.
One customer review details a concerning experience involving a puppy with a broken toenail. The reviewer described the interaction as "generally unprofessional" and expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of thorough examination by the veterinarian. Furthermore, the review mentions a high-cost list of recommended services, including anesthesia for a young puppy, leading the customer to seek a second opinion elsewhere. The subsequent positive experience at another veterinary clinic, which provided necessary treatment at a significantly lower cost, led this customer to express a strong intention not to return to General Dog & Cat Hospital.
In contrast, another reviewer shared a more positive, albeit initially shaky, experience. This review mentions an initial error where the wrong kitten was given to the wrong person due to their identical appearance. The reviewer acknowledged the mistake as understandable and appreciated the hospital's prompt and honest correction. Notably, the hospital provided free antibiotic treatment for the kitten's kennel cough. This customer also mentioned a delay in scheduling a previously paid-for spaying procedure due to the kitten's illness and the reviewer's subsequent forgetfulness. Despite this, the reviewer expressed positive sentiments towards the staff and service, indicating an overall satisfactory experience.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive judgment about the consistent quality of service at General Dog & Cat Hospital. The negative review raises concerns about potential over-prescription of services and the level of initial care provided in at least one instance. The positive review, while acknowledging an initial error, praises the staff's honesty and the provision of free treatment, suggesting that the hospital is capable of delivering good service and rectifying mistakes.
As a pet hospital, General Dog & Cat Hospital likely offers a range of services typically associated with veterinary care. These may include routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostics (such as blood tests and imaging), surgical procedures, dental care, and treatment for illnesses and injuries. The specific services offered and the quality of their execution would be best determined by direct engagement with the hospital and potentially by seeking testimonials from a broader range of recent clients.
Information regarding the environment and features of General Dog & Cat Hospital is not explicitly provided in the given text. In conclusion, General Dog & Cat Hospital in San Bernardino is a pet hospital providing veterinary care for dogs and cats. Public reviews present a mixed picture of customer experiences, with one review highlighting significant concerns about service and cost, while another describes an initially flawed but ultimately positive interaction. Potential clients are advised to consider these perspectives and to conduct their own due diligence, such as contacting the hospital directly, inquiring about their services and fees, and possibly seeking additional recent reviews to form a well-rounded opinion. When choosing a pet hospital, factors such as the qualifications and experience of the veterinary staff, the range of services offered, the cleanliness and comfort of the facilities, and the overall reputation of the clinic are important considerations for ensuring the health and well-being of your pet.

Jan 02, 2014 · Kimberly RobelWill edit later so far loving service @16:29 on 05 15 15 Edit So the service here was a bit shaky, but it got better. There was a mistake where the gave the wrong kitten to the wrong person; my kitten to another person. Its okay, both looked identical from the same litter so I get it. They corrected it asap, were upfront and honest about the mistake. Even treated me sickly kitten with antibiotics free of charge since she had a bad kennel cough. I paid for her to get fixed but wasn't able to being that she was sick...it's been months and I'd forgotten until recently to set an appointment. Now that she's better I will call. I'm surprised they didn't contact me about it but I think they feared the kitten may have been too sick and died. She was in terrible shape and I was a worried mess for a week until she started improving. Love the staff, the service, etc!
Nov 12, 2015 · Dana WilsonI want to give my whole hearted thanks to everyone there !!! A few months back, my friend's dog got shot in the face by San Bernardino Police for NO other reason than to kill the dog , which was tied up !! Animal control came to pick up the animal and that wonderful dog was still alive and fighting hard to stay that way !! The animal control brought her here and they did miracles for her !! My friend had several other dogs and the only way she would be able to still see her was if i adopted her, which I did. However, both my friend and I are both out of work and couldn't afford all the cost of her care. These wonderful people understood the whole situation and truly care about animals and worked with me on the cost of her care !! I am very happy to say that me and my friend's dog has healed beautifully and is a very happy and lucky dog to be alive thanks totally to this wonderful and caring Veterinarian!!! We are forever greatful for helping her and being so generous !!! Thank you so so much !! Sincerely, Dana Goodall and Paws !!!
Feb 08, 2017 · dana goodallThe BIGGEST ripoff ever. $300 to get my dog spayed and have a couple shots. They have some kind of agreement with the nearby animal shelter. Owners are told to pick their pets up and be subject to whatever cost it's going to be. In my case, $300. It's not that much anywhere else. They included a cone for my dog for $15 (couldn't take it off the tab for whatever reason). A cheap plastic thing that must have cost the less than a dollar. I'm never going back again. Do not come here. Look for a place that doesn't require a down payment of your first born.
Apr 15, 2016 · I GThe worst service I have ever had! The way we were treated was enough to bring several of my family to tears. They are not here for the benefit of the animals. They are here for the money! We could not take our new family member home because they were trying to swindle us out of money for illnesses we know for a fact she did not have. They said she could not be fixed because she had kennel cough but guess what?! She was fixed the next day anyways and adopted right out when they said they'd put her down as soon as we couldn't make the outrageous payments for illnesses she didn't have or let my dad see the dog he was going to happily dish out HUNDREDS for - even at the potential that she could die. They said that they told us all the ways we could work around it, but as the kid of the people adopting - I was there and I saw my parents trying to negotiate payments any way they could. NO BUDGE. We call them the next day and they try to cover their tracks and be underhanded, deceitful people. Because of the emotional trauma my family has faced here, we can never go back. My heart aches for all the babies out there in the pounds that potentially have lost their chance at homes because of their actions. Who knows how many there were. My suggestion is, if you encounter them and they bring you in the back room to discuss treatments - record everything and the entire conversation on a recorder or phone. Know your rights and talk to the actual pound of what you are allowed to do, because the clinic is not trying to help you.
