Okay this is my honest opinion. So I came here today for the first time I had an emergency with my bearded dragon. I came in very emotional. I thought the weight was a little long but I'll tell you what turned it around once. I actually met with the veterinarian and he told me it's pretty much him. I mean he has his assistance in his weight staff and all that, but he's the only veteran there. Next time I'll plan my day accordingly. He was very kind and did answer a bunch of my questions. If you're there and your appointment's running a little over be patient. They really are trying. He seems to be a good man. + These more unique animals are hard to take care of. He did a great job and he bandaged up my bearded dragon and that had broken leg and we're going to keep an eye on it over the next 6 to 8 weeks and really try to fix them up. Thank you y'all. I know I came in a little emotional but one of my animals were hurt and I'm sure y'all see people coming in distressed everyday. Thank you for what you do!.....

Over the years, I've used Gambrills to board my pets when our preferred locations were booked. During my dog's last stay in April, I picked him up and was informed that he was aggressive towards one of the employees (which I do not condone). However, I quickly noticed that he was very docile and bleeding from his eye socket. When I asked why that was, no one could provide a reasonable explanation and that I would receive a call once the impacted employee returned to work. This call never occurred, and I dropped the issue after a few days of monitoring my dog for head injuries. Fast forward, we called to make boarding reservations because our preferred locations were booked only to be informed that our dog was not allowed at their facility. This is fair, but I was completely caught off-guard when an employee also mentioned that I threatened them which is completely false! First and foremost, if I were truly upset, I wouldn't have paid you several hundred dollars for my pet's stay or I would've called my credit card company to make a stop payment. I did neither. Secondly, I wouldn't make a physical threat. Why do that when I can simply pursue legal action?! I gave Gambrills Veterinary Center the benefit of a doubt despite the initial nonsensical bloody eye-socket excuse and lack of a follow-up. However, looking back, your "threat" excuse looks like you're trying to cover your back in case I decided to take legal action. I should've followed my initial feelings that my dog had been physically beaten after the incident. ***Response*** Now the Gambrills Veterinary Center owner is lying. My dog has no history of allergies, nor does he have issues with his eyes or the area around them. Let's be abundantly clear, it was a bloody eye socket which he's never had prior to being in your "care". You acknowledged the blood coming from my dog's eye socket but offered various explanations and mentioned that he had bitten one person rather than the "multiple" individuals you are now trying to claim in an effort to deflect. I must note that our preferred boarding facilities never reported any behavioral issues with my dog...only yours.

I am not writing the review based on the center but the Veterinarian that I had. I moved to the area a couple of years ago and was looking for a vet that was closer. My little guy needed a growth removed from his eye. Took him here and the support staff was GREAT with the exception of one person whose attitude was less than welcoming (a young woman who gave us the medicine). Doctor Orenstein did the exam and found some small things that he made seem dire...and the bill for the procedure was RIDICULOUS! Think of a mechanic who makes the problem seem worse so that you feel the need to get it done immediately. He even said the growth would scratch his cornea if it wasnt done soon. An exaggeration, as the old vet said the way it was situated that would not happen. Against my better judgement, I got some small things done (which was still kind of high in hindsight) and held off on the other stuff so that I could get a second opinion. Got it from the old vet and it was a quarter of what this Vet was charging. Compared fees and his charges were exorbitant and according to the old vet, some things did not need to be done (Heartworm test for example, especially when my wife said she gives him heartworm medicine and he gave the test anyway). I even got charged for an item that I never recieved! After everything was done, the new Vet did not even come back out to say goodbye or explain how to administer the medicine like my previous Vet does. Just bad service period. Needless to say, I took my little guy back to the old Vet and even though it is a drive, his service is worth it. Again, the support staff was great! The Vet was not. I honestly feel that he played on the emotion I have for my little guy as an excuse to charge those ridiculous prices. I wish I had read these reviews first before going, but I would never think a Vet could be so greedy and bad customer service. GO ELSEWHERE.

My fur babies looked to have just as wonderful of a vacation as I did when picking them up. This was their first time boarding here. They stayed for 10 days while I was out of the country. The staff let me know what medical information was needed for boarding when I first called to make the reservation. The pricing was also very reasonable. I chose this place because it eased my worries knowing that my pets will be able to see a vet if needed. They also were very pleasant in greeting at drop off and let me know the night before that all I needed to bring was my pets food if I would like. The place was very lovely and clean inside! All staff was friendly, I will definitely be taking my fur babies back there whenever I travel. They looked healthy and well cared for when I picked them up. Overall an awesome experience to know your pets are loved while you are away. You all are awesome!! Love Reese and Loona!
