Let me share my past experiences with Dr Marsha Gentry. She used to work at Enoch Veterinary Hospital in Gallatin where I took my dog Rosie to. Her symptoms were lethargy and diarrhea. Dropped her off around 8am. She did a abdominal X-ray and said she would monitor her. Said she would call and update us. It was after 3pm and heard NOTHING. Called and she tells me my Molly is dead. If that isn't bad enough she opens her own practice and my sister without knowing takes her dog there for routine teeth cleaning and she finds out that her dog almost aspirated due to the anesthesia. What is disturbing was Dr Gentry mentioned it as if it was funny. This Vet is not competent and lacks true compassion or knowledge of the seriousness of a situation. Stay away from her. Don't let her sweet demeanor fool you. That is the reason she has so many good reviews. Those people have been fooled and just lucky nothing has happened to their pet. I blamed myself for the longest time that I didn't call earlier. I had to say goodbye to my dead dog. No APOLOGY from her. Shame on you.

Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC Introduce
Welcome to Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC, a veterinary care facility located at 338 Sumner Hall Dr, Gallatin, TN 37066, USA. Operating under the platform category of Pet Hospital, Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC aims to provide veterinary services for the local community. The available information includes contrasting reviews from different customers, offering varied perspectives on the care and services provided. This introduction will attempt to provide an objective overview of the potential environment, services, and features based on these reviews, while acknowledging the differing experiences.
Based on the positive review, the environment at Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC appears to be friendly and welcoming. The customer who recently moved to the area specifically chose this hospital after reviewing their website, which suggested a friendly atmosphere. The fact that they felt comfortable bringing their 12-year-old cat for vaccinations indicates a potentially reassuring environment for pets. The staff is also described as "very friendly," contributing to a positive initial impression. However, the negative review does not provide insights into the clinic's environment but focuses on the alleged conduct and competence of a specific veterinarian who now practices at this location.
Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC likely offers a range of standard veterinary services expected from a pet hospital. Based on the positive review, these services include:
- Wellness Examinations: Routine check-ups to assess a pet's overall health. The reviewer brought their cat for a "well visit."
- Vaccinations: Providing necessary inoculations to protect pets from preventable diseases. This was the primary reason for the positive reviewer's visit.
- Diagnostic Services: Routine bloodwork was performed on the cat, indicating in-house diagnostic capabilities.
- Consultations and Advice: Dr. Wielgus provided recommendations regarding the cat's weight, suggesting nutritional and wellness counseling.
Given that it is a pet hospital, it is reasonable to assume they also offer other common services such as:
- Medical Treatment: Addressing various illnesses and injuries through medication and other therapies.
- Surgical Procedures: While not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, most pet hospitals offer surgical services, ranging from routine to more complex procedures.
- Dental Care: Routine teeth cleaning is mentioned in the negative review, indicating this service is offered, although the experience described was concerning.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: While not directly mentioned, many pet hospitals provide care for urgent situations during their operating hours. It is advisable to confirm their emergency protocols.
- Parasite Prevention: Offering products and advice on preventing fleas, ticks, and other parasites.
The features of Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC, as perceived through the reviews, present a mixed picture:
- Friendly and Caring Staff (as reported by one reviewer): The positive review emphasizes the friendliness and caring nature of both Dr. Wielgus and the staff, who "really showed they cared."
- Convenient Location (as reported by one reviewer): The hospital's proximity to a local apartment complex was a positive factor for a new resident.
- Same-Day Appointments (as reported by one reviewer): The ability to secure a same-day appointment for a well visit is a notable convenience.
- Reasonable Prices (as reported by one reviewer): The cost of the check-up and inoculations was considered reasonable by one customer.
- Prompt Communication (as reported by one reviewer): Dr. Wielgus called the next day with bloodwork results as promised.
However, the negative review raises serious concerns about:
- Alleged Lack of Competence and Compassion (as reported by one reviewer regarding Dr. Gentry): The detailed account of a pet's death and a near-aspiration incident during anesthesia, coupled with the alleged dismissive attitude, paints a concerning picture.
- Potential for Alarming Diagnoses Later Contradicted (as reported by one reviewer regarding Dr. Gentry at a previous clinic): The initial assessment and lack of timely communication in a critical situation are troubling.
Promotional information for Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC is not explicitly available in the provided text. Pet hospitals may occasionally offer introductory specials for new clients or seasonal promotions on specific services. To learn about any current promotions or specific service offerings, it is recommended to contact Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC directly.
The two customer reviews provide starkly contrasting experiences. One new customer reports a positive experience with Dr. Wielgus and the staff, highlighting their friendliness, caring attitude, convenience, reasonable prices, and prompt communication. This suggests that positive experiences are indeed possible at this clinic.
However, the other review details a deeply negative experience with Dr. Marsha Gentry, recounting the death of a pet under her care at a previous clinic and a concerning near-aspiration incident with another pet at Gallatin Animal Hospital. The allegations include a lack of timely communication, perceived lack of competence and compassion, and disturbing behavior following a medical incident. This review presents serious concerns that potential clients should be aware of.
Given these conflicting accounts, it is essential for local users considering Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC to weigh both perspectives. The positive review suggests a friendly and efficient practice, particularly with Dr. Wielgus. However, the serious allegations in the negative review, specifically concerning Dr. Gentry, cannot be ignored. Potential clients may want to inquire about the veterinarians on staff and their respective credentials and experience. It might also be prudent to seek additional reviews from other sources to gain a broader understanding of the overall client experience at this hospital.
In conclusion, Gallatin Animal Hospital PLLC in Gallatin, TN, operates as a pet hospital offering a range of veterinary services, including wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, and potentially surgery and dental care. One recent customer reported a positive experience with Dr. Wielgus and the friendly staff, citing convenience and reasonable prices. However, another customer shared a deeply concerning past experience with Dr. Marsha Gentry, alleging negligence, lack of compassion, and communication issues. Local users should consider these contrasting viewpoints and conduct further research or direct inquiries to the hospital to make an informed decision about their pet's care. Jan 10, 2025 · jean nikolicI just moved here from out of state and needed to find a new veterinarian for my 12 year old cat to get his vaccinations up to date. I chose the Gallatin Animal Hospital after reviewing their website because it seemed like a friendly atmosphere and located within minutes to my apartment complex. I believe I made the right decision. I was able to get an appointment the same day I called for a well visit. Dr. Wielgus was super friendly and very caring! The staff was also very friendly! Not to mention the price was reasonable for the check up and inoculations. I had some routine bloodwork ran on my cat since it had been some time since he had seen a doctor, and Dr. Wielgus called me the next day with the results as promised. She made a couple of recommendations to help me get his weight down and I am going to follow her advice. I really appreciate the entire team! They really showed they cared. I would definitely recommend Gallatin Animal Hospital to anyone! Thank you Dr. Wielgus and staff! I am confident Mufasa is in good hands.
Jan 25, 2025 · Nancy WellsI am attached to the two rescue cats who live with me and want to do my best while I have them. My 10 yr old rescue was treated with gentle but professional care. I am glad I took her there.
Mar 08, 2025 · Laura DiehlDr. Gentry and all of the staff at Gallatin Animal Hospital are amazing. They have been taking care of our dogs since 2012 and we have never had less than the absolute best care. Dr. Gentry has saved the life of two of our dogs in emergency situations and I will forever be grateful. All their clients are made to feel like they are the most important and they treat every 4 legged (or three legged as in our case) baby like they are their own. We are clients for life!
Dec 24, 2020 · Allie KelleyI’ve been taking my 3 year old beagle to another vet in the area. I have loved them, they have always been so good to us, but after I shelled out almost $600 on her annuals, it was time to check prices and reviews of other vets. Gallatin Animal Hospital was my first and last call. I got an appt at GAH for my younger pup’s 4 month shots after Christmas, then she woke up yesterday with cherry eye. Today was so much worse so I headed in for their first available. On the way over, she pooped in her carrier. It was everywhere. I asked at the desk for some paper towels or wipes and I got so much more. Someone came in and took her carrier to be hosed down, and someone else came in with a big wet towel and helped me clean her up and even sent us home with a fresh blanket. Her exam itself went just amazing. Dr. Poteet and everyone are beyond incredible. The prices are completely reasonable and they even tried to find me some samples to help with costs, and got me a very palatable estimate for her eye. My favorite part - Dr. Poteet explained each vaccine and procedure, and I truly feel like I’m getting exactly what my pup needs and not being sold any unnecessary services or treatments. GAH is a breath of fresh air.
