We went to this vet for 28 years. Our dog woke up with a severe case of vestibular disease (couldn't walk, tilted head, no balance, twitchy eye). I called the clinic expecting to get an appointment and was told to go to the hospital instead. They had surgery in the morning and couldn't get us in in the afternoon. They said they could schedule an appointment for 2 days later. I asked what I was supposed to do for 2 days with a dog that couldn't walk. She just continued to tell me they couldn't do anything. I don't know if I'm more upset that I lost my best friend that day or that my vet turned me away. Thankfully the wonderful people at Appanasha were kind enough to take us in. I'm so very appreciative of the care Appanasha gave to us that day. A truly caring facility. We drove out of our way for 20 of the 28 years we went to your clinic because we liked it (even though it was more expensive). Right now I can't begin to tell you how upset I am to be told to go somewhere else because we were not important to you that day. I will never take another animal to you again.

While the initial experiences seemed satisfactory, the reviewer expressed feeling rushed during the payment process and questioned the cost of the spaying procedure compared to online estimates. We chose fox river animal hospital for our cat because of the good reviews and all the positive things we have heard about them and when our cat was a kitten he first visit was for ear mites and shots by her last shots appointment I had mentioned that the ear mites are gone now but she still struggles with very itchy ears and I was told she probably produces too much ear wax and wasn’t given any information on what to do from there but I swept it under the rug as maybe she didn’t know what we should do from there and we did our own research and have been treating it. We where told that we can have her spayed after she turns one year so we waiting until then and set up a appointment and had it done we also chose to have her micro chipped, when it came time to pick our cat up it felt very money driven as they quickly got me to pay before even saying anything about our cat and just the spaying cost $550 and a additional $100 for the micro chipped which I am not sure if that is normal for cats as this is our first cat but everything I have seen online says spaying cost around $200 so I felt like we may have been over charged and that’s why we where rushed to pay. The biggest issues has come from our cat has been healing good and had the stitches removed for about 3 weeks now and we noticed it has tore open a little bit and is now partly open so I contacted them and they had me send a picture and said that the vet is gone for the day and they will get his opinion in the morning and will get back to me. It has now been two days since and I still have not heard back and our cat has a open wound on her stomach so we decided to take her to a different vet and will no longer be going back to fox river animal hospital. I really hope this is just multiple bad experiences we have had with them and this is not how they treat everyone but it is very frustrating reaching out to your vet for help after spending $650 and then getting ignored

I love this veterinarian.. i took my cat in for a follow up appointment after he had kidney stones.. they were very friendly and informative of the visit details.. and it was reasonably priced i think.. i mean i dont know the going rate on a check up for a cat but it seemed fairly priced. They also sold special food my cat needs right there and walked me thru the correct food for him. And on top of that they let me pay over the phone like 3 days later.. talk about trusting..highly reccomend..

Employees were all super kind. Our appointment started late - almost thirty minutes after our time.

Dr. Shepherd was born to be a vet. His approach with our little furry one is excellent. His staff is also the real deal! You can tell they love animals there and aren't just showing up to get a paycheck. Thank you all for all your hard work and follow up care treating us like family will keep us coming back again and again!
