We have brought 4 fur babies to them. We have always had amazing vets, techs, and front office staff. They were very compassionate when 3 of our babies past away. Our newest fur baby loves warming up to all the staff, he is our big baby. Also, their prices are so affordable. I have and will always send others to this office.

Welcome to Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic

Welcome to Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic, located at 6440 Grand River Ave, Fowlerville, MI 48836, USA. As a Pet Hospital serving the Fowlerville community, we aim to provide veterinary care for your animal companions. To give you a comprehensive understanding of our clinic, we will present an objective overview based on the available customer feedback.

The environment of Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic, while not explicitly detailed in the reviews, can be inferred to have evolved over time according to one long-term client. Initially perceived as a "wonderful" small-town clinic with caring staff, this perception seems to have shifted for at least one reviewer following a change in ownership a few years prior to their review. Another long-term client, who has brought multiple pets to the clinic, consistently praises the "amazing vets, techs, and front office staff," highlighting their compassion, particularly during difficult times such as the passing of a pet. This suggests that while some aspects of the clinic, particularly the staff's caring nature and affordability, have been positively received, there may be varying experiences regarding the overall service quality post-ownership change.

Services Offered at Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic

Based on the general function of a Pet Hospital, Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic likely offers a range of veterinary services. These typically include:

  • General Wellness and Preventative Care: This usually encompasses routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention (for fleas, ticks, heartworms), and nutritional counseling to help keep your pets healthy.
  • Diagnostic Services: To identify health issues, the clinic likely offers diagnostic tools such as laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, etc.) and possibly imaging services like X-rays.
  • Medical Treatment: Veterinarians at the clinic are equipped to diagnose and treat various medical conditions affecting pets.
  • Surgical Procedures: Many veterinary clinics offer surgical services, ranging from routine procedures like spaying and neutering to other necessary surgeries.
  • Dental Care: Services related to your pet's oral health, such as dental cleanings and examinations, are also typically provided.
  • Compassionate End-of-Life Care: As indicated by a positive review mentioning the staff's compassion during the loss of pets, the clinic likely offers support during these sensitive times.

However, a critical review raises concerns about the clinic's handling of emergencies, stating that a long-term client with a senior dog in respiratory distress was turned away due to no available openings and advised to go to a facility further away. This resulted in the pet's death shortly after the owner's return. This account suggests potential limitations in their capacity to handle urgent cases, especially for established clients.

Features of Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic

Based on the customer feedback, the features of Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic appear to be somewhat mixed:

  • Caring Staff: Multiple positive comments highlight the caring nature of the vets, techs, and front office staff, who are said to treat pets well and show compassion.
  • Affordable Prices: One reviewer specifically mentioned that "their prices are so affordable," which is a significant benefit for pet owners.
  • Experienced Veterinarians: Dr. Scott Butts is specifically mentioned as an "amazing vet" with both knowledge and a good bedside manner, suggesting the presence of skilled practitioners.

However, the negative review points out a significant concern regarding emergency care and a perceived shift towards a more corporate, less personal approach following a change in ownership. The inability to accommodate a long-term client's pet in a breathing emergency raises serious questions about their current service model and prioritization of patient needs.

Promotional Information

The provided reviews do not mention any specific promotional offers. However, the positive comment about "affordable prices" might suggest that their general pricing structure is competitive for the area. To inquire about any current promotions or new client specials, it would be best to contact Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic directly at (517) 223-8812 or +1 517-223-8812.

Serving the Fowlerville Community

Located on Grand River Avenue in Fowlerville, MI, Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic has served the local community for a number of years. While some long-term clients have had positive experiences, particularly praising the staff's compassion and the affordability of services, recent experiences, as indicated by one detailed negative review, suggest potential changes in service quality, especially concerning emergency care and the overall approach to client relationships.

For local users considering Fowlerville Veterinary Clinic, it would be prudent to weigh the positive feedback regarding caring staff and affordable prices against the serious concerns raised about emergency handling and perceived changes in the clinic's ethos post-ownership change. Contacting the clinic directly may provide further insight into their current practices and how they can meet your pet's specific needs.

I've debated posting this for weeks, but decided I needed to let others know. I was a client of Fowlerville Vet for nearly 10 years. They used to be wonderful, hence why I kept bringing my animals back. Since they sold the practice a few years ago, the care has become sub-par. The only reason we continued care there was because of Dr. Scott Butts. He is an amazing vet, both in his knowledge and bedside manner. I was recently on vacation and my senior dog was having trouble breathing. My pet sitter called me to see if I could get him in to see someone. I called Fowlerville vet, explained to them the situation, and I was turned away. They told me they had no openings and to take him to MSU. My pet sitter was unable to drive that far. We were able to make it home the next day, and within 30 minutes, Frankie was dead. My dog suffered because Fowlerville Vet couldn't take a few minutes out of their day to look him over and humanely euthanize if necessary. No one should be turned away in an emergency, but especially not someone who's been a client for a decade. Unfortunately, they are no longer the small town vet clinic that cares about you and your pets. They are just another corporate owned company where everyone is a dollar sign. I will never forgive them for this and will let anyone who wants to hear know how awful they have become in their care of your pets.

We see Dr. Morgan and she truly is an exceptional doctor. The office was recently purchased by a corporation and prices have gone up, which is not great, but it is worth it to see Dr. Morgan. Our dog is older and has health issues, and she always takes the time to explain everything in detail and does what she can to make our dog the most comfortable. She is kind and caring and very thorough.

Everyone is so helpful. As my dog has gotten older his care has gotten to be more involved. I am treated as if I'm family. Believe it or not ( picture below) Cozmo is 15 years old!
