With a heavy heart…I must still thank yall. For the readers, my Purceus has been in and out of the vet or hospital since Sunday. He was diagnosed with heart disease but wasn’t getting better. My boy definitely had an attitude but they handled him with such care and love. Unfortunately, we couldn’t figure out what was wrong and we had to put him down today. Everyone treated us with such kindness. Everyone here at the clinic has a heart for pets (to name a few cause I can’t remember the rest: Patience, Jewel, Sophie). Then there is Dr. Janecek. The wizard. The GOAT. She walked us through a lot and I could tell she really cared for my cat. She gave him a hug when he passed. Thank you all for loving Purceus, me, and my mom. They are the ones to get your pets the care they need and deserve. Choose them. God Bless

I brought my three month old kitten Teeny to First Colony Vet and I immediately felt at home! That's so important when entrusting the health of our fur-babies to a vet and staff. I have had pets my entire life, and lived in quite a few states before making Sugar Land my home, and I can honestly say they were the best of the best. I also LOVE that they are a small business and woman owned. Every patient matters to them and I can't wait to bring in my Golden Retriever Islay in for her check up soon! If you are thinking of a place to take your sweet babies, look no further!!!!

Have brought my pups here for many many years. Always very professional and they treat my babies like their own. Wouldn't think of taking my animals anywhere else!

In December 2023, I brought my cat to First Colony Vet Clinic because he had stopped eating and was becoming lethargic. During two visits, they found and removed a foreign object from his system, and X-rays revealed nothing further. Initially, I appreciated their efforts, but as my cat's condition worsened, I felt the care and communication fell short. We were informed that an ultrasound was necessary but would need to be outsourced, as they didn’t have a technician onsite. Unfortunately, we were never contacted with further instructions or updates. When we followed up, we were simply told to take him to an emergency clinic, which left us feeling brushed off and unsure of how critical the situation was. As first-time cat owners, we relied on their guidance but were left feeling unsupported during a very stressful time. Ultimately, we sought help from two other vet hospitals, but despite our efforts, my cat passed away on January 2, 2024. This has been a traumatic experience, and while I recognize that this is a clinic with limitations, the lack of urgency, guidance, and follow-through left us deeply disappointed. I’m writing this review a year later because of the emotional weight of this experience, but I feel compelled to share it so others can make informed decisions about their pet’s care. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this clinic and would encourage pet owners to seek out a facility that ensures comprehensive care and communication, especially in urgent situations.
