I bring my Cavapoo “Jrue” to First Avenue Vet for all of his shots and also when he isn’t feeling well, since he was 3 months old. I don’t remember a time where I wasn’t greeted with a warm welcome and a smile by the receptionists at the front desk. We never wait long to be seen and the doctors and vet technicians are all so kind, knowledgeable , and understanding to what ever our needs may be during a visit. When Jrue got neutered the surgery went good & so did the healing process, there were no complications. I know that when I am there that Jrue is in good hands and let me just say, Jrue looovveess it there lol. Everyone shows him love and he gets treats every visit. I highly recommend taking your little fur baby to First Avenue Vet.

Dec 17, 2024 · JuMulan JonesBEWARE of this veterinary clinic. This clinic was recommended by Social Tees for my rescue, so I decided to call and inquire about the costs of blood work, urinalysis, and fecal testing. I currently have a trusted vet that I used for my dogs who recently passed away, but I was open to switching to a clinic closer to home. When I called, I spoke with someone named Jane and asked for details about their pricing. She mentioned that the costs could range from $300 to $400. I then asked if she could provide individual prices for each test, as I wanted to avoid unexpected charges—a concern raised in several online reviews about this clinic. To my surprise, Jane’s response was dismissive. She told me to go elsewhere, stating that their clinic is more expensive than others. She also mentioned that the doctor determines the pricing for these tests, which means there is no standard pricing even for routine services. This lack of transparency is deeply concerning and seems to align with the complaints from other reviewers about being blindsided by exorbitant charges. To make matters worse, she abruptly hung up the phone on me. I was beyond shocked by the unprofessionalism. As a motivated and informed pet parent seeking quality care for my rescue, I simply wanted clarity and transparency about costs. Instead, I was met with rudeness and a complete disregard for customer service. I now fully believe the reviews describing unforeseen charges and poor communication. If you’re considering this clinic, proceed with caution.
Jan 22, 2025 · Zina DDr. Meltzer, his Assisant Michael and the rest of the Staff AMAZINGLY KIND AN COMPASSIONATE to My Belovef 19 year old Bell Cat and to Me. I will be taking Bell and referring this wonderful veterinary hospital to all pet children The receptionist played music ( Petula Clark) for my Bell her favorite to mak e her feel more relaxed. Dr. Meltzer gave Mt Bell a Rabies vaccine. She didn't feel or notice. Michael rubbed her ears and was so soothing to her while she got her vaccine. I feel Blessed to have found this wonderful veterinary care for my Bell 🐈⬛️ .May I also say that their regular clients made Bell and myself feel very welcomed.
Feb 04, 2025 · T GENRETTEI’ve had great experiences with Dr Meltzer. My dogs love him. I would recommend him to everyone.
Dec 05, 2024 · Jill PuleoBrought my 4 year old dog and 3 1/2 year old cat to get established with their care here. They were seen right away upon arrival and even though my dog especially gets terrified at the vet, they were able to tempt him with treats and were very kind to both of them. They were efficient and caring. Highly recommend.
