This was my first time using the clinic, and I deeply regret not going to my regular vet. Vetco’s vaccination clinic and their main clinic seem completely disconnected, making what should have been a simple process unnecessarily frustrating. Petco should ensure better cooperation between these two entities—especially since they’re both under the same umbrella. The unwillingness to work together is unacceptable. What should have been an easy fix turned into an ordeal. I had to visit the clinic in person twice, only to be told to return yet again at 6 PM today to resolve the issue. After three visits and two hours on the phone with utterly unhelpful customer service, I can confidently say that the $10 I saved wasn’t worth the hassle. I never imagined something as straightforward as obtaining a heartworm preventative could be this complicated. My dog weighs 11 lbs, and when my pharmacy’s customer support explained that his prescription had been denied because he was on the cusp of the weight range, I assumed it was a misunderstanding. However, I was told Vetco was the one rejecting the prescription. When I contacted Vetco, they claimed they couldn’t approve it because they weren’t licensed veterinarians and therefore couldn’t modify the prescribed dose. But when I pointed out that the vet had already prescribed the lower dose based on her judgment, they simply dismissed me, saying it was “policy.” If this was their policy, why didn’t the vet know that her recommendation wouldn’t be honored? To make matters worse, Vetco’s customer service is outsourced to a call center where representatives have no real authority to help. No one could provide an immediate solution, and I was told it would take 48 hours for a resolution. When they finally got back to me, they said the issue required approval from an even higher-level manager—meaning I had to wait another 48 hours. Overall, this experience has been exhausting, inefficient, and completely not worth the minor cost savings. Next time, I’ll stick with my regular vet. I’m writing this review before any resolution, hoping they can finally fix the issue at 6 PM today—but at this point, my confidence is low.

I’m disappointed with Vetco. I booked a vaccine appointment over the phone through the customer support. They said I’m all set for tomorrow. In an HOUR I’m getting a call from a different number that I COULDN’T pick up. I’m calling this number back in 2 MINUTES to ask what’s wrong. They tell me it was a call to confirm an appointment for tomorrow. (That I just booked an hour ago). And just because I simply didn’t answer to it they CANCELED IT IMMEDIATELY !!!!! I didn’t receive from them NOT a voicemail NOT a confirmation email NOT even a message asking to CONFIRM the appointment. The only thing I got is a message on my phone saying that my appointment has been scheduled. I RECEIVED A REQUEST TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT 1 MINUTE AFTER I rescheduled everything all over again since they just canceled everything an hour after I booked it. I can’t imagine what could’ve happened if I arrived there tomorrow with my cat by subway to find out that it’s canceled and nobody is waiting for us. And it’s not the first time I have to deal with this nonsense: the previous time I was already going to the hospital and fully prepared with all the confirmations. They just CANCELLED my appointment 20 MINUTES before it. I have to urgently find another vetco clinic nearby to reschedule. I go there and they give me the price TWICE higher than they told me in the estimate since they don’t have a doctor to do the exam as in the discount package so all the coupons I had just burned down. Overall I spent EXTRA 2 HOURS just on the road for no reason. I’m willing to use the services of these scammers anymore.
