Maybe a very late and odd review, but should be known. Seemed to be a good vet, but lacking in ethics and extremely shady. Worked for them for a few days and then was suddenly told not to come back due to previous employers saying I was ineligible for rehire. Fair enough to decide not to hire someone due to references. But to do it after paperwork has been filled out and having worked for 2-3 days? I had to hound them for over a week to pay me for hours worked, which I was told would be "less than what was agreed upon since I wasn't officially hired". Eventually I had to go to the office where I was quickly handed an envelope of cash at the front door and awkwardly left. The entire thing was unprofessional and didn't seem right. The envelope had $60. Was straight ripped off and they still owe me money to this day. Still don't know what the reason was for all the shifty behavior, but I've never seen a vet act like this. This is not the first unprofessional experience I had with a vet in Fort Smith. Thankfully, this was many years ago and I certainly hope they've evaluated their morals. If this is how they treat people, beware of your pets. Very glad to have left the field after living in this town. The quality of vet care and ethics is far better in the north. The south is only nice to your face, like this place.

I’d strongly advise against advertising emergency care if you don’t have any doctors working when you’re open (or at least staff that can give any kind of advice whatsoever). I’m new to the area and saw “emergency care” listed under a pet hospital and drove straight there only to be told they could “hold my dog until a doctor showed up,” though they wouldn’t tell me when that would be. I ended up leaving and going somewhere else, since I had no idea the severity of the problem with my dog and clearly no one there was able to help. Thank god this wasn’t a life threatening emergency. From other reviews it seems like maybe this was just a fluke, but jeez, I’ll never take the risk again.

Was quoted $600-$800 for the entirety of a heart worm treatment. The final cost was over $1200 and I am not aware of any change in scope for the treatment. Also, my dog is in quite a bit of pain. I also haven’t seen the vet, and I have been there 5 times at various times throughout the week. I won’t be back and I recommend you follow suit.

We’ve gone to Dr. Brunck since our old Sissy was tiny. Dr. Brunck has always squeezed her in when there was an emergency. He really takes the time to explain everything. And he is up on the latest medicine. He somehow stays on schedule. Only one time ever did I have to wait a long time at an appointment. Dr. Brunck is personable. He always takes a minute to ask about our family or what’s going on in our lives. The staff babies Sissy. They always tell her what a sweet girl she is. The groomers always fit Sissy in for a nail trim. Best vet office either of us have ever used.
