Very friendly staff, however there is one issue that has been ongoing for maybe 3/4 years. This place unfortunately has a serious punctuality problem. They do a great job and are very kind so I never minded waiting until it got this bad. Consistently, for the last few years, my pre-scheduled appointments have been 20+ minutes late every single time. It used to be that I’d only have to wait 20 or so minutes past my appointment every time, however the last few visits I have been sitting in my car upwards of 45 minutes. Every single time I’ve been told they had an emergency or are busy. I’m not accusing them of lying, but if I’m sitting for 20+ minutes every single appointment, that’s a time management issue. Today, unfortunately was the last day I will be coming. After waiting for 50 minutes, I simply did not have the time to wait.

While specific details about the interior design or waiting room amenities are not extensively available online, the general atmosphere of Fairview Animal Hospital, as conveyed through client feedback, centers around the staff's demeanor. Many clients describe the staff as "very friendly" and "very kind", suggesting a welcoming and approachable environment. The clinic aims to create a setting where pet owners feel comfortable bringing their animals for care. Like many veterinary practices, the environment is designed to be functional for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, prioritizing the medical needs of the animals. The hospital's location on a main road (US-411 S) in Maryville makes it easily accessible for local residents.
Fairview Animal Hospital, as a general practice pet hospital, is expected to provide a range of core veterinary services aimed at maintaining pet health and addressing various medical needs. While a detailed list of every single service is not publicly itemized in the provided information, a typical veterinary clinic of this category generally offers:
Preventative and Wellness Care: This foundational aspect of veterinary medicine includes routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations (for common diseases like rabies, distemper, parvovirus), parasite prevention (e.g., heartworm, fleas, ticks), and general health screenings. Wellness care is crucial for early detection of potential health issues.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and injuries, pet hospitals commonly utilize various diagnostic tools. This often includes in-house laboratory services for blood tests (e.g., complete blood counts, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams. Imaging services like X-rays (radiography) are also standard for evaluating bones, organs, and soft tissues.
Medical Treatment: For pets suffering from various illnesses, the hospital provides medical treatments, which might include managing chronic conditions, treating infections, addressing digestive issues, and managing allergies or skin problems. This also encompasses prescription medications.
Surgical Procedures: Common surgical services offered by general veterinary practices include routine procedures such as spaying and neutering. More complex soft tissue surgeries (e.g., tumor removals, foreign body removal, wound repair) might also be performed. Surgical care typically involves pre-surgical evaluations, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative pain management.
Dental Care: Oral health is a significant component of overall pet well-being. Veterinary clinics usually offer professional dental cleanings, extractions for diseased teeth, and sometimes dental X-rays to assess conditions below the gum line.
Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for different life stages, breed-specific needs, and management of diet-related health conditions (e.g., obesity, allergies) is often provided.
Microchipping: As a vital tool for pet recovery, microchip implantation for permanent identification is a commonly offered service.
Given the standard practices of pet hospitals, Fairview Animal Hospital would likely offer these services to address the diverse needs of canine and feline patients.
The client reviews offer valuable insights into the operational aspects and client experience at Fairview Animal Hospital. A key feature consistently mentioned by clients is the friendliness and kindness of the staff. This positive interaction with the team is a significant aspect of the clinic's service delivery, contributing to a pleasant experience during visits. Dr. Khalsa's leadership, while not directly detailed in the provided reviews, is implied to be at the helm of this client-facing team.
However, the reviews also highlight a recurring operational challenge: appointment punctuality. Multiple clients have reported consistent and significant delays in scheduled appointments, ranging from 20 minutes to upwards of 45-50 minutes. While the clinic attributes these delays to emergencies or being busy, the consistent nature of the issue suggests a potential time management concern. This can lead to frustration and inconvenience for pet owners, as indicated by one client's decision to seek alternative veterinary care due to prolonged wait times and a lack of timely communication regarding cancellations or callbacks. This feedback points to the importance of efficient scheduling and communication in a veterinary practice, especially when dealing with sick pets who require prompt attention.
The feedback regarding the inability to get a call back or being "canceled" suggests that communication, particularly in urgent situations, may be an area of focus for improvement. For pet owners, clear and timely communication, especially concerning a sick pet, is paramount.

May 06, 2022 · Bean StalkWhen you have a sick pet, paid through the nose over time and cannot get so much as a call back as you have obviously been “canceled”. Forced to seek emergency treatment at an even higher rate and find a new vet to follow through with, I feel it is highly unprofessional and unethical to the profession. Very happy with the replacement.
May 06, 2022 · C KatschorI had to put down my 14 year old beagle, Hurley. OMG. These guys have it all together. I felt love, compassion, understanding through the whole ordeal. They did not rush me through the process. Answered all my questions. Explained everything to me about the process. They treated Hurley like a baby. Even treated her to all her favorite things to eat that she wasnt supposed to have...i.e. last meal. UGH. I am so happy I chose Fairview to help with saying goodbye to my fur baby. They are spot on awesome!
Mar 18, 2022 · Angie WilliamsWe had to take our little rescue (Dude) to get him checked out for some spots we found on his body. They were extremely thorough at figuring out what was wrong. We can't stress enough the importance of keeping good records of your animals health. It helps to lead the doctors in the right direction as well.
