I have used this vet for spay and neuter services a handful of times. The first few went well with no complaints. The last two interactions were over the phone to schedule appointments. One he refused to make an appointment to neuter my dog stating that I would forget my appointment because it was too far ahead. The next interaction was that I was trying to reschedule a stray cats spay appointment due to cold weather outdoors and the cat having to go outdoors after surgery. He said it would be fine with a blanket and argued with me. Instead of scheduling a new date he told me either bring it in or don't and hung up on me.

Fairfield Animal Hospital Introduce
Welcome to Fairfield Animal Hospital, your local pet hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive veterinary care for your cherished animal companions in Fairfield, Iowa, and the surrounding areas. As a vital part of the 'Pet Hospital' platform category, Fairfield Animal Hospital strives to be your trusted partner in ensuring the health and well-being of your furry, scaled, and feathered family members.
Located at 1115 E Madison Ave, Fairfield, IA 52556, USA, Fairfield Animal Hospital offers a range of services designed to cater to the diverse needs of your pets. You can reach them at (641) 472-6983 or their mobile number +1 641-472-6983 to schedule appointments or inquire about their services. While specific details about the hospital's environment are not explicitly available online, the positive review suggests a welcoming and perhaps a 'country doctor vibe,' implying a comfortable and personal atmosphere for both you and your pet. This type of environment can be particularly reassuring for pets who may experience anxiety during veterinary visits.
The services offered at Fairfield Animal Hospital include essential procedures such as spaying and neutering. These routine surgeries are crucial for controlling pet overpopulation and can also offer various health benefits for your animal, such as reducing the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues. According to one customer review, their initial experiences with spay and neuter services were positive, indicating competence in these common surgical procedures.
Beyond surgical services, it is reasonable to infer that a full-service animal hospital like Fairfield Animal Hospital would also provide a range of other essential veterinary care. These typically include routine check-ups and wellness examinations to monitor your pet's overall health and detect potential issues early. Vaccinations are a cornerstone of preventative care, protecting your pet from various infectious diseases. Diagnostic services, such as blood work, X-rays, and other laboratory tests, are essential for accurately diagnosing illnesses and injuries. Treatment for illnesses and injuries, dental care to maintain your pet's oral health, and potentially nutritional counseling to ensure your pet is receiving the appropriate diet are also common offerings at animal hospitals. While the specific list of all services is not provided in the given information, these are standard offerings one would expect from a comprehensive pet hospital.
Features of Fairfield Animal Hospital, as gleaned from the customer reviews, present a mixed picture. One long-term customer with experience in multiple states praised the veterinarian as "truly the best ever," highlighting the reasonable costs and a positive "country doctor vibe." This suggests a personalized approach to care, where the veterinarian is dedicated and perhaps offers a more traditional, community-focused practice. The mention of the veterinarian dedicating their life to animals further reinforces a sense of commitment and passion for animal welfare.
However, another review details negative experiences regarding appointment scheduling and communication. This customer reported being refused an appointment and felt the veterinarian was argumentative and dismissive of their concerns regarding a stray cat's post-operative care in cold weather. This feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in customer service and communication styles, which prospective clients should be aware of.
Based on the available information, it is challenging to provide specific promotional information in the traditional sense, such as discounts or special offers. However, the positive review serves as an indirect form of promotion, emphasizing the perceived high quality of care and reasonable pricing. The "country doctor vibe" mentioned could also be seen as a unique selling point, appealing to those who prefer a more personal and perhaps less clinical atmosphere for their pet's care.
For local users in Fairfield, Iowa, considering Fairfield Animal Hospital for their pet care needs, it is advisable to weigh the positive feedback regarding the quality of veterinary care and cost-effectiveness against the negative feedback concerning appointment handling and communication. It may be beneficial to contact the hospital directly to inquire about their services, environment, and current practices to form your own informed opinion. Visiting the facility, if possible, could also provide valuable insight into the atmosphere and the team's interactions with pets and their owners.
In conclusion, Fairfield Animal Hospital, as a 'Pet Hospital' in Fairfield, Iowa, offers a range of veterinary services, including spay and neuter surgeries and likely other essential medical and wellness care for pets. While one long-term customer speaks highly of the veterinarian's skill, dedication, and reasonable pricing, another review raises concerns about appointment scheduling and communication. Local users are encouraged to consider all available information and directly engage with Fairfield Animal Hospital to determine if it meets their individual pet care needs and preferences.

Apr 02, 2024 路 Heidi FrazerI've lived in 5 different states in my 60 years and this vet was truly the best ever. And I've never had a bad veterinarian. And cost was so reasonable. Love the whole country doctor vibe . Thank you doc for dedicating your life to animals . You are as real as they get . God Bless you and your beautiful wife. Thanks again . I'm staying !!!
Sep 23, 2023 路 mary andersonIn a nutshell, the lady they had working for them put the wrong cat in my carrier and had to wait for the original owners to come back to swap them out. Doc did a good job with spaying her on the other hand though.
Aug 11, 2019 路 Justin BurgerHe about killed my dog! I took him into see Dr.Pollick because he was passing blood and some blood clots. He told me it was because I didn't nurture him!!! I called Richland Vet about it they had me bring him in the same day. They told me he had a bad infection in his kidneys. They put him on a strong antibiotic. He is 馃挴 percent cured 馃槉 They told me that not being nurtured had nothing to do with the kidney problem.
May 06, 2024 路 Mickie FordAs vets highly recommend a cone after neutering you'd think this veterinarian HOSPITAL would put cones on animals to avoid stitches being ripped. I guess that isn't the case as before we even got home my cat ripped his stitches. I will not be doing business here anymore and will be taking my cat to another vet in the morning.
