Have been going to Dr. Jennifer Urbanz for many years for our dog Rusty. She is great! Rusty had cherry eye in both eyes and other vision issues when we adopted him at 11 years old. He is now 14 and doing great! Highly recommend!

  • "I have never had to take an animal to a specialist for care before, but I would still have to rate Eye Care for Animals as the best around. The scheduling was so simple and uncomplicated. From the moment walking through the door to check in until I left a few hours later with my dog Briscoe following eye surgery, it felt as though I was with friends and people I had known for years. Very caring, professional, and informative staff who seem to strive to make the owners as comfortable and at ease as the furry patients. If you need them, I would highly recommend."

There were several appointments available to choose from all within a span of a couple days away. Dr. Urbanz is fantastic. I am so thankful I found her. I was concerned my little Biewer Terrier would lose his eye. He couldn't even open it, but she knew exactly what to do and saved it. I highly recommend her. Her staff is awesome too!!

Response to owner, 11/19/2024: Your canned corporate response blaming the customer for your inadequacies speaks volumes. I'm certain you could've fit Bodhi in for 5 minutes to get him the meds he needed in a timely manner, not days later. Clearly you are only in it for profit, just like every other large corporation, Thrive Pet Healthcare, owned by private equity, TSG Consumer. These people are parasites. Go elsewhere. I want to share my recent experience with Eye Care for Animals in Scottsdale. My dog (14.5 yr old Tibetan Terrier) has had intermittent bouts of severe dry eye for 3 years, around every 6 months or so. He has always been treated at this vet and prior care has been great. Oct 25th, he had another flare up while I was traveling and we were out of meds. I immediately called and was told they could not prescribe meds due to the “law” and could not see him until 11/5. Then they called back and could fit him in on 10/29. Still, the dog has been suffering for 4 days at this point. Although this was the same recurring issue they’ve treated him for several times, they had to do another full exam for ~$200, which was no problem as long as he got the meds. Then I get a call from Chewy and my father in Florida because they called the meds into Chewy.com and they assigned it to my dad because I have never had an account there. They also prescribed Neo/poly/dex ointment even though he has always gotten drops because ointment is very hard to administer, but he does not mind the drops. Finally, 5 days later, my dog got his meds and is thankfully on the mend. Their response to my complaint only addressed their opinion that the ointment was better. Certainly, having no meds for 5 days was worse. They have not acknowledged the other concerns or that they could have done better in getting him the care he needed in a timely manner. Many other vets have renewed previously prescribed meds for issues they’ve treated before, without an appointment. If any attorneys read this, please clarify the law. TLDR; Eye Care for Animals let my dog suffer for 5 days, made numerous mistakes, then only argued that the form of one med was the correct one instead of taking any accountability. Very disappointing.
