My cat became acutely blind and Dr Paglia was able to work me in as an emergency visit. She diagnosed the issue quickly, came up with a plan to manage it and went above and beyond to find the underlying cause (hypertension). She was able to get this dangerous issue under control and eliminate the resulting ocular inflammation through thorough follow up and prescription therapy. I'm so grateful for the compassionate response and clear path forward to help my geriatric kitty as well as her expertise.

Mar 27, 2025 · Stacy DunawayFrom Sky M.’s mom Michele : Dr. Shifrin and staff are AMAZING !! The lobby is always immaculate plus they have treats and cute decorations for every holidays. The appointments always run on time yet during the exam they make you feel like they have all the time in the world for you !! The vet techs are all super sweet and considerate of your dog’s special needs. The take great notes plus go over all the instructions in detail along with giving you a printed copy. Checkout is a breeze ! A receipt is emailed then a separate email comes with the doctor’s clinical summary and instructions once more. Dr. Shifrin has helped us with bad cornea scratches that wouldn’t heal, monitoring cataracts, genetic mottling and origin of mineral deposits.
May 09, 2025 · John & Michele AllenI feel so fortunate to have gotten an appointment with Dr. Shifrin at Eye Care for Animals when my dog Tica got bitten by a rattlesnake in her eye. I could not believe how in-depth the appointment was with first the pressure test, and then he examined her with at least two different pieces of equipment. Afterward, he took a lot of time to chart her eye and add all his notes on this special kind of tablet. He charts everything when you are there to ensure his report is totally accurate. Then afterwards, he goes into a lot of detail explaining his findings. In my dog's case, the pressure was very high, so she was blind, and she had an infection and corneal ulcer. Her follow-up exam was a little better, and again, he spent a lot of time explaining what was going on with her eye, what to expect, and what to look for should her eye get worse. The veterinary assistants Jaclyn and Astrid were very nice too and they type all the instructions up for you and ensure you understand the dosage and prescription schedule. Her eye is more open now, so I am hopeful she may not lose it, but whatever happens, I know my dog is getting the best care possible from Dr. Shifrin at Eye Care for Animals. Thank you!
