The front desk isn't trained or knowledgeable in any of the products or billing. The ask you to call in, then rush you off the phone. When texting, the responses imply that they did not read any of the previous texts and request you call in again just to be rushed off the phone. It's a cycle of nothing accomplished. They also tell you the price of items, i.e. cone vs body suit as same price, but they charge differently. They also demand you pay your bill in full before they will explain any charges. Once paid, the dr is put off explaining any of the charges, and simply states, "We're not trying to rip you off", instead of simply explaining what was done and the increase charges from the estimate. I was told, "Wow! We saved your dog's life. You should be more appreciative." Implying that requesting an explanation, not a disagreement, just an explanation of charges was unwarranted. Even with the doors closed, I could hear the doctors and staff cursing about patients and owners in the back of the office. My dog luckily received good medical. However, the office is chaotic, unorganized, pretentious, and robotic.

Jul 15, 2023 · Jacob OserI took my dog Kona in today because she had an ear infection. Dr. Craig Hummel and the tech Jamie were absolutely wonderful and so kind and patient with my dog. The receptionist was very kind. They are so caring and kind at Ellisville veterinary. They go above and beyond to make your pet (and yourself) feel comfortable.
Feb 15, 2025 · JamieThe absolute best! They saved my dog’s life 40 years ago when I was a little girl. Now I’m a mom with 3 kids & 2 dogs and Ellisville Vet is still the best around. Fast, friendly and professional.
Dec 31, 2024 · Jill MooreFriendly happy staff. Dr Croft was great! He was very attentive to us and our puppy. He answered all our questions and imparted information we needed to know. All without rushing and he has a wonderful soothing voice as well. It was a great reassuring visit!
Mar 05, 2024 · Maureen McCarterI live in Wildwood MO, and never had much luck finding a caring Vet in my area. So I settled with Ellisville Vet Hospital at 210 Clarkson Rd. My pit bull Jax was my world. The last three times I went to Ellisville, were unacceptable. I took him there for a bladder problem and explained how how was leaking from his bladder all over the floors, on the walls, etc. It happened on our visit to which the Vet said, "well I'll be darned". He had also lost about 20 lbs, which the tech showed concern, but not the Vet. The next visit, he was there for rabies shots and had lost another 10 lbs. They sold me a three year rabies tag. He went downhill quickly from there and I called to make an appt to put down my 14 yr old friend. I was so upset thinking about it, that I did not show. I was tired of being overcharged and completely disregarded. I never showed for rhe appt, and have STILL never heard a word from them!! They were going to charge me $300 to put him down. Originally from the Ladue area, I called APA Brentwood, where I took my dog to have him put down. They charged me $150 for this service. As heart wrenching as it is to put down an animal, which is like a child to me, it was night and day how I was treated. As soon as the doctor and tech came in the room, he simply smelled his breath, I believe, and told me instantly he was in complete kidney failure. They left the decision to me as to what was best, which was obviously to stop the suffering. They brought in some blankets, and gave me some time to lay there with my buddy and say goodbye. They sedated him to calm him a bit. They then came in and gave the final shot. I stayed on the floor with him, until his last breath. One of the hardest things I've ever done. Of course being emotional, the tech asked if I wanted a hug which I gladly accepted. At the time of his passing he weighed 47 lbs, which was about half of his normal weight. APA Brentwood treated me with the utmost compassion. Truly caring people. I was so happy that I chose to go here instead of Ellisville. To top it off, I received a handwritten note in the mail from the doctor, the tech and a third person, possibly the front desk? I don't want anyone to have to endure what I did with my dog at Ellisville Vet Hospital. Those people cared about one thing. Overcharging for everything and repeatedly selling things I could not adminster. I highly recommend APA Brentwood all the way around. If my heart can take another pet, I will gladly drive there from Wildwood.
