Rude, unorganized, completely disconnected bedside manner , you wait forever on hold for a response and they don't come back in a timely manner, they say they are so busy they don't have time to answer the phone with out have long holds or have room for appointments for a month in advance. I guess that's their good problem...but for me it is not. Also, when you're at their office you wait in a parking lot, they take your pet and you never actually see the doctor and the staff are not really personable , and they're confused and unorganized. Based on my personal experience, it IS BEST I do find another Veterinarian with a kinder more organized staff. Though I never got to meet the doctor face to face...she was very nice over the phone....to bad the service as a whole is poor.

Positioned within the "Pet Hospital" category, this establishment aims to provide a range of services and products designed to cater to the health and well-being of pets in the local community. For direct inquiries, they can be reached via phone at (805) 647-8430 or +1 805-647-8430.
When considering any veterinary care provider, understanding the overall environment and the nature of the services offered is crucial for pet owners. East Ventura Animal Hospital, like other facilities in the Pet Hospital category, is expected to offer a variety of medical, surgical, and preventative care options for companion animals. This typically includes routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control, dental care, diagnostic services such as X-rays and lab work, and surgical procedures ranging from spaying and neutering to more complex operations. Additionally, many pet hospitals also provide emergency care, nutritional counseling, and pharmacy services, allowing for a comprehensive approach to pet health management.
Based on customer feedback, the experience at East Ventura Animal Hospital appears to be multifaceted. One reviewer describes the staff as "very friendly and very polite," suggesting a positive and welcoming demeanor from some members of the team. This aspect can significantly contribute to a comfortable experience for both pets and their owners, especially during what can often be stressful visits to the vet. A friendly and polite staff can help alleviate anxieties, provide clear instructions, and make pet owners feel more at ease about the care their animals are receiving. Such positive interactions are often a cornerstone of effective client-veterinarian relationships, fostering trust and open communication.
However, other customer reviews highlight areas where the hospital's operations might present challenges for some clients. One detailed review points to concerns regarding organization and communication. The reviewer notes issues such as being "rude, unorganized, completely disconnected bedside manner," and experiencing long wait times when attempting to reach the hospital by phone, stating they "wait forever on hold for a response and they don't come back in a timely manner." This suggests potential difficulties in accessibility and prompt communication, which can be frustrating for pet owners, especially when urgent care or information is needed. The comment about being "so busy they don't have time to answer the phone without having long holds or have room for appointments for a month in advance" indicates a high demand for their services, which, while potentially a sign of a popular practice, can also lead to challenges in accommodating all clients promptly.
The operational flow described by one reviewer also outlines a particular procedure for office visits: "when you're at their office you wait in a parking lot, they take your pet and you never actually see the doctor and the staff are not really personable, and they're confused and unorganized." This "curbside" or drop-off model of service became more prevalent during certain periods, and while it can offer convenience or reduce direct contact, it might also lead to a perception of disconnect for some pet owners who prefer a face-to-face interaction with the veterinarian to discuss their pet's condition directly. The lack of direct interaction with the doctor and the perception of staff being "not really personable, and they're confused and unorganized" could impact a client's overall satisfaction and sense of involvement in their pet's care. It is worth noting that while the reviewer never met the doctor face-to-face, they did mention that the doctor was "very nice over the phone," suggesting that direct communication with Dr. Fowell J Elaine DVM might be positive, but the overall service experience for this particular individual was perceived as poor due to other operational aspects.
In terms of specific features, the information provided does not detail specialized equipment, advanced treatment modalities, or unique programs offered by East Ventura Animal Hospital. This would typically include examination rooms, a surgical suite, diagnostic imaging equipment (such as X-ray machines), a laboratory for blood tests and other analyses, and a pharmacy for dispensing medications. The presence of a DVM, Dr. Fowell J Elaine, signifies that the hospital is led by a qualified veterinary professional, licensed to practice veterinary medicine.
