I could not be more thankful for and delighted with this business. I have been there twice related to my dog’s heart murmur and hypertension and both times they have been kind and efficient and were very prompt about communication with my veterinarian and with me. We also had a bit of an urgency this time and they were able to accommodate us and my dog’s special needs. Whitney and Katrina and Freda are doing their respective jobs like they love what they do, and that is rare.. Dr.Bacon is wonderful and is very blessed to have such a compassionate and competent staff. Thank you all!

Welcome to East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound

Welcome to East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound, a specialized Pet Hospital located at 11249 Kingston Pike, Farragut, TN 37934, USA. While our name highlights our expertise in veterinary ultrasound, we function as a crucial part of the broader pet healthcare ecosystem, offering advanced diagnostic services that contribute significantly to the well-being of your beloved animal companions. At East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound, we pride ourselves on our knowledgeable team, efficient service, and compassionate approach to both pets and their owners.

As a specialized Pet Hospital focusing on ultrasound, our primary service involves providing detailed internal imaging to aid in the diagnosis and management of various medical conditions in pets. Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that uses sound waves to create real-time images of the body's internal structures, including organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues. This technology is particularly valuable for assessing conditions related to the heart (echocardiography), abdomen, and other areas where detailed visualization is required.

One of the key features of East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound is the expertise of our veterinary specialists, particularly Dr. Laura Bacon. She is highly regarded in her field and is consistently described by clients as an expert. Pet owners appreciate her kindness, welcoming demeanor, and her commitment to taking the time to thoroughly explain details to them. This dedication to clear communication ensures that pet parents are well-informed about their animal's condition and the diagnostic process.

Our services are not limited to just performing the ultrasound examination. We understand the importance of timely communication and seamless collaboration with your primary veterinarian. Clients have expressed their gratitude for our promptness in communicating findings both with them and their referring vets. This efficient exchange of information ensures that there are no unnecessary delays in diagnosis and treatment planning, allowing for swift action when your pet's health is a concern.

East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound is also known for its compassionate and efficient staff. The reviews specifically mention Whitney, Katrina, and Freda, highlighting their kindness and dedication to their respective roles. Clients have noted that these team members seem to genuinely love what they do, which translates into a positive and supportive experience for both pets and their owners. This caring attitude is a cornerstone of our practice, as we understand that veterinary visits, especially for specialized procedures, can be a source of anxiety for both animals and their human companions.

We also understand that pet health issues can sometimes arise with urgency. East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound strives to accommodate urgent cases and the special needs of individual pets. One client recounted a situation where their dog had specific needs, and our team was able to make the necessary accommodations, demonstrating our flexibility and commitment to providing timely care when it matters most.

Our primary service, veterinary ultrasound, encompasses several specific applications, including:

  • Echocardiography: A specialized ultrasound of the heart used to assess its structure and function. This is particularly important for diagnosing and monitoring heart conditions such as murmurs and hypertension, as mentioned in the reviews.
  • Abdominal ultrasound: Imaging of the abdominal organs, including the liver, kidneys, spleen, gastrointestinal tract, and bladder, to detect abnormalities such as masses, fluid accumulations, or organ enlargement.
  • Small parts ultrasound: Examination of smaller structures like lymph nodes, thyroid glands, and superficial masses.
  • Thoracic ultrasound: Imaging of the lungs and chest cavity to evaluate for fluid, masses, or other abnormalities.
  • Pregnancy diagnosis and monitoring: Ultrasound can be used to confirm pregnancy and monitor fetal development in animals.

While the reviews do not explicitly describe the physical environment of East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound, the emphasis on kindness, efficiency, and a welcoming atmosphere suggests a comfortable and professional setting. A calm and organized environment is crucial for conducting detailed ultrasound examinations and ensuring the comfort of our patients.

The prompt scheduling of appointments, as highlighted in the case of the cat needing an echocardiogram before anesthesia, indicates an efficient and well-organized practice. Our ability to quickly schedule specialized procedures is essential for timely diagnosis and treatment, especially when these procedures are a prerequisite for other necessary medical interventions.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Dr. Laura Bacon is one of our favorite veterinary specialists. She is expert in her field, is very kind, welcoming and takes time to talk to and explain details to pet parents! Our cat Edgar required an echocardiogram before undergoing anesthesia for a procedure and Dr. Bacon and her staff were able to get him quickly scheduled for his echo. The results were double checked and quickly forwarded to Edgar’s Dental veterinarian with approval for anesthesia. Thank you so much to Dr. Bacon and her wonderful staff!

Dr. Bacon and her staff are absolutely the most caring and compassionate people I’ve met. I wish they can be our regular veterinarian and staff! My cat does so well there, they keep her so calm and the process so easy for her. We visit every 6 months for an echocardiogram and we wouldn’t go anywhere else! Sophie loves the staff and I’m sure my others would too! Even getting the results is incredibly fast for such difficult conversations to have.

Dr. Bacon and her staff have gone above and beyond in their care for our sweet Remi. The compassion they have shown during these uncertain times means so much to our family. Their office reminds me of days of old, when medical staff actually had time to truly care for their patients. I would highly recommend this group to anyone needing this level of expertise.

My cat needed a cardiac ultrasound right away to help diagnose what was causing her multiple issues. My vet gave me a referral to UT but the soonest appointment they had was 5 months away, which was entirely too long to wait in her condition. So I started searching for other options. That's when I found East Tennessee Veterinary Ultrasound, and I am so thankful I did! Understanding the urgency, Dr. Bacon made room in her fully booked schedule to squeeze my cat in the same week. The entire staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable, from booking the appointment to check-in, to the meeting with Dr. Bacon after my cat's echo for preliminary results. After that, everything was sent to a board certified vet cardiologist for follow-up and treatment plan. I received the report within 2 days. I had a question about her treatment and they answered it immediately, and have followed up to see how my cat is doing. 100% recommend, and will see them again when my cat needs her follow-up echo in four months. Thank you!!
