We love East Chapman Vet Center! We became a retirement home of a local celebrity, Sunny, from the flowerdale nursery (yes, the friendly white cat). Sunny has been a long time patient of ECV and we moved our other kitty and 2 dogs to them after meeting them for our first visit with Sunny. Everyone, I mean everyone, from the front office staff to the vet techs to Dr Shayda to covering Drs in her absence, are lovely, helpful, kind, and compassionate. No one likes to go to the vet, except maybe Sunny. He is pampered and loved on the moment we arrive. He and our other animals are treated by everyone as if they are their own. I trust them to be honest, fair and guide me in making difficult decisions. In the last few months Sunny has needed to be seen quite a few times for his kidneys, and although it can be nerve wracking to spend so much time at the vet, every. single. time. I know he’s getting the best care. I see some reviews mentioning long wait times, the only time I experienced this was when I needed to walk in without an appointment (and I wasn’t the only worried pet parent having a stressful health situation at the same time/day) imagine having a full day of appointments but ALSO allowing walk-ins between appointments so that as a pet parent you and your lil baby get some relief the same day… I would assume there would be a wait, I know that’s not ideal but that’s pretty normal in an urgent non appointment situation. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. To each and every staff member for making all our babies feel loved and cared for. You are appreciated beyond measure. ❤️🙏🏻

Welcome to East Chapman Veterinary Center

For pet owners in Orange, California, and the surrounding areas searching for a "Pet Hospital Near Me," East Chapman Veterinary Center, located at 4250 E Chapman Ave, Orange, CA 92869, USA, presents itself as a local option for veterinary care. They can be contacted at (714) 633-9780 or their mobile number +1 714-633-9780.

Based on the available customer reviews, East Chapman Veterinary Center appears to have cultivated a reputation for a caring and compassionate approach to animal care. One reviewer expressed their love for the clinic, stating, "We love East Chapman Vet Center!" This positive sentiment is echoed by another customer who initially brought a local celebrity cat, Sunny, from Flowerdale Nursery, to the clinic and subsequently moved their other pets (another cat and two dogs) to East Chapman Veterinary Center after a positive first visit. This suggests a strong initial impression and ongoing satisfaction with the services provided.

A recurring theme in the positive feedback is the exceptional quality of the staff. The reviewer specifically mentioned that "Everyone, I mean everyone, from the front office staff to the vet techs to Dr Shayda to covering Drs in her absence, are lovely, helpful, kind, and compassionate." This inclusive praise across all levels of staff indicates a consistent culture of care and support within the clinic. The reviewer further elaborated on the personalized attention their pets receive, noting that their animals are "treated by everyone as if they are their own." This level of dedication and affection can be particularly reassuring for pet owners who consider their animals family members.

Trust in the veterinary team is another significant aspect highlighted in the reviews. One customer stated, "I trust them to be honest, fair and guide me in making difficult decisions." This speaks to the integrity and ethical standards perceived at East Chapman Veterinary Center, which are crucial when navigating challenging pet health issues and treatment options.

The clinic's dedication to providing quality care is further illustrated by a customer's experience with their cat, Sunny, who required frequent visits for kidney issues. Despite the stress associated with frequent vet visits, the reviewer consistently felt that Sunny was "getting the best care" at East Chapman Veterinary Center. This suggests a high standard of medical attention and a commitment to managing chronic conditions effectively.

Regarding the environment and services, the positive reviews paint a picture of a welcoming and caring clinic where pets are pampered and loved. The staff's attentiveness and the trust placed in their guidance suggest a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for both pets and owners. The services offered likely include routine check-ups, treatment for illnesses (such as kidney issues and the mentioned celebrity cat's long-term care), vaccinations, and potentially surgical procedures, although specifics are not detailed.

One reviewer addressed the issue of wait times, noting that their only experience with a long wait occurred during a walk-in visit without an appointment. They astutely pointed out the clinic's willingness to accommodate walk-ins, even amidst a full schedule of appointments, as a benefit for worried pet parents seeking same-day relief for their animals. While acknowledging that waiting is not ideal, the reviewer considered it "pretty normal in an urgent non appointment situation," suggesting that the clinic strives to balance scheduled appointments with urgent needs.

However, it is crucial to present a balanced view by also considering the negative feedback. One reviewer had a significantly different experience, labeling East Chapman Veterinary Center as the "WORST vet ever!!" This starkly contrasting opinion highlights a potential inconsistency in customer service, particularly at the front desk. The reviewer specifically criticized a front desk staff member named Kris for being "SOOOO judgmental," alleging that they suggested giving up the dog due to a large, difficult-to-pay bill and even made the reviewer cry. This is a serious accusation that raises concerns about the empathy and support provided by some administrative staff.

The same negative review also raised concerns about billing and communication regarding insurance coverage. The reviewer stated that they were initially told treatment was approved, but their insurance later denied it. They felt that the clinic was primarily focused on payment and showed a lack of care once the bill became an issue. The front desk's response of "that's unfortunate" was perceived as dismissive. This experience suggests potential issues with financial communication, insurance processing, and the handling of billing disputes.

Considering both the positive and negative feedback, the environment at East Chapman Veterinary Center is generally perceived as caring and welcoming, particularly in the interactions with the veterinary technicians and doctors. However, there are potential issues with the front office staff, with at least one instance of perceived judgment and poor handling of financial concerns. The services offered likely include a range of medical care for pets, from routine check-ups to the management of chronic illnesses and walk-in urgent care. The clinic appears to value treating pets with kindness and honesty, but the administrative aspects may require closer attention to ensure consistent positive experiences for all clients.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Veterinary clinics sometimes offer introductory discounts for new clients or specials on certain services. Local pet owners interested in learning about any potential promotions at East Chapman Veterinary Center should contact the clinic directly.

In conclusion, East Chapman Veterinary Center in Orange, CA, appears to be a pet hospital that is generally well-regarded for its compassionate and knowledgeable veterinary staff, including Dr. Shayda. Many customers appreciate the kind and caring environment and the trust they feel in the medical care provided. However, potential clients should also be aware of the negative feedback regarding the front desk staff and potential issues with billing and financial communication. Visiting the clinic or speaking directly with the staff may help local pet owners determine if East Chapman Veterinary Center aligns with their specific needs and expectations for their pet's care.

WORST vet ever!! Kris the front desk is SOOOO judgmental, pretty much told me to give my dog up because of a large bill that is hard for us to pay for. She even made me cry after being on the phone with her. The front desk told us we are ok with getting treatment done and then now our ins has denied it. Seems like all they wanted was to get money and could care less now that we are stuck with a bill. Kris just kept saying that’s unfortunate. Never will I ever bring my pets here again.

This vet is the worst vet I have ever been to. I lost my one year old puppy due to negligence. I went here due to her swallowing a toy and they explained that the x rays were good and that she would be fine. Not even 24 hours later she was septic. I took her to another vet who said they should have done an ultrasound and that x-rays cannot show a tear or leaking abdomen. After that she went to the ER for life saving measures but did not make it ( which the ER was also shocked they did not do ultrasound). The lying was insane as they first said it was routine to not do an ultrasound but after questioning more they explained there was no ultrasound tech on scene that day because it was Friday. They were lazy and just wanted to go home and enjoy their weekend, therefore letting my dog die. You would think the right thing to do is to send the dog to another vet for an ultrasound if they did not have time or resources. (i did not get refunded for the x-ray nor were there any apologies or condolences for their wrong doing. Extremely selfish and cruel vet)

Dr. Shayda Rocks! She ALWAYS does the best work on my feral Kitties! In my experience, a lot of times most feral cats are treated as second-class citizens but not with her! She's the most affordable vet in Orange County to fix the feral cats, which is the reason why we all have pet cats to begin with. Unless you bought from a breeder! I respect her time at Coachella Valley Animal shelter doing high volume spay neuter and her knowledge of the value in it! Her front office staff and in the back are the most sweetest people I know and I always enjoy seeing their faces anytime. I'm there checking in! Thank you You all for everything you do! Love Always, Erika R

Yelp has hidden this review. I am reposting it to warn others about my experience with this veterinarian. I still have nightmares about it -- My 19 year old cat, who was suffering kidney failure, was euthanized by Shayda Ahkami when she was employed at the VCA Rancho Mirage Animal Hospital. It took her over two hours! She kept blaming my poor cat for not dying. Her supervisor told me later that he thought she likely did not perform the injections properly. It was a horrible experience that I will never be able to erase from my mind. No one should have to go through something like this.
