This place has went so downhill since they moved buildings. They couldn’t care less about your animals, it’s all about money. No one answers the phone, you wait forever for an appointment, they have new, terrible vets that just want to sell you stuff that you DON’T need and it’s virtually impossible to get any meds you order. I miss the old days when Dr. Mary Olson was an owner and this clinic actually cared about your pets!

Welcome to East Central Veterinarians
Welcome to our introduction to East Central Veterinarians, a well-regarded pet hospital. This introduction aims to provide you, our local users, with a detailed understanding of what a professional pet hospital like East Central Veterinarians offers, allowing you to make informed decisions about your pet's health needs.
In the category of "Pet Hospital," East Central Veterinarians strives to be a trusted partner in ensuring the health and well-being of your pets. A well-established pet hospital typically provides a wide range of services, maintains a comfortable and hygienic environment, boasts experienced and compassionate staff, and offers features designed to cater to the diverse needs of pet owners and their animal companions. While we are not physically located in Singapore, understanding the standards and offerings of a reputable clinic like ours can help you evaluate local options.
Environment: A Comfortable and Safe Space for Your Pet
A crucial aspect of any reputable pet hospital is its environment. East Central Veterinarians, based on general best practices and the positive feedback received, likely prioritizes creating a welcoming and stress-free atmosphere for both pets and their owners. This typically includes:
- Clean and Hygienic Facilities: Maintaining a scrupulously clean environment is paramount to prevent the spread of infections and ensure the safety of all animals. This includes regularly sanitized examination rooms, surgical suites, and recovery areas.
- Comfortable Waiting Areas: Recognizing that visits to the vet can be stressful for pets, a good pet hospital provides comfortable waiting areas, often with separate spaces for cats and dogs to minimize anxiety.
- Well-Equipped Examination Rooms: Examination rooms are equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to conduct thorough physical examinations and initial assessments.
- Advanced Surgical Suites: For surgical procedures, a dedicated and sterile surgical suite with modern anesthesia and monitoring equipment is essential.
- Diagnostic Imaging Facilities: Many comprehensive pet hospitals have on-site diagnostic imaging capabilities such as X-ray and ultrasound to aid in accurate and timely diagnoses.
- In-House Laboratory: Having an in-house laboratory allows for quick processing of blood samples, urine tests, and other diagnostic tests, facilitating faster treatment decisions.
- Pharmacy: An on-site pharmacy provides convenient access to prescribed medications and other pet care products.
While one review mentions a potential decline in service since moving buildings, it's important to consider that this is a single perspective. Ideally, a pet hospital prioritizes maintaining or improving its facilities to continue providing quality care.
Services: Comprehensive Care for Every Stage of Your Pet's Life
A full-service pet hospital like East Central Veterinarians typically offers a wide array of services to address various aspects of your pet's health, including:
- Wellness Exams: Regular check-ups are vital for preventive care, early detection of health issues, and maintaining your pet's overall well-being. These exams often include vaccinations, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling.
- Sick Animal Care: Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries are core services, involving thorough examinations, diagnostic testing, and appropriate medical or surgical interventions.
- Surgery: Pet hospitals offer a range of surgical procedures, from routine spay and neuter surgeries to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
- Dentistry: Dental health is crucial for pets. Services may include teeth cleaning, extractions, and treatment of dental diseases.
- Vaccinations: Protecting your pet against common and potentially life-threatening diseases through vaccinations is a fundamental aspect of preventive care.
- Parasite Prevention and Control: Comprehensive programs to prevent and treat fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other internal and external parasites.
- Diagnostic Imaging: Utilizing X-rays, ultrasounds, and potentially other imaging modalities to diagnose internal conditions.
- Laboratory Services: Performing blood tests, urinalysis, fecal exams, and other laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis and monitoring.
- Microchipping: A safe and permanent way to identify your pet in case they get lost.
- Nutritional Counseling: Providing guidance on proper nutrition to support your pet's health and manage specific dietary needs.
- Behavioral Counseling: Addressing behavioral issues through advice and potential referral to specialists.
- Emergency Care: While the provided information doesn't explicitly detail emergency services at East Central Veterinarians, many full-service hospitals offer or have affiliations for after-hours emergency care.
- Euthanasia and End-of-Life Care: Providing compassionate and dignified end-of-life services when necessary.
One positive review highlights the staff's willingness to go the extra mile, suggesting a commitment to comprehensive and accommodating service.
Features: Enhancing the Pet Owner Experience
Beyond the core services, a modern pet hospital often incorporates features designed to improve the overall experience for pet owners:
- Experienced and Compassionate Veterinary Team: A team of qualified veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff who are passionate about animal care is paramount.
- Clear Communication: Keeping pet owners informed about their pet's condition, treatment options, and costs is essential for building trust.
- Appointment Scheduling: Efficient appointment scheduling systems, whether online or via phone, are important for convenience. However, one review mentions difficulties in getting appointments, which is an area for potential concern.
- Prescription Refills: A streamlined process for ordering and receiving necessary medications is a valuable feature. Again, one review indicates challenges in obtaining ordered medications.
- Client Education: Providing resources and information to help pet owners understand how to best care for their animals.
- Follow-Up Care: Ensuring proper recovery and addressing any post-treatment concerns through follow-up appointments and communication.
- Online Resources: Many clinics offer websites with information about their services, staff, and helpful pet care tips.
The contrasting reviews highlight the importance of consistent quality of service and communication. While one customer praises the personable staff and willingness to accommodate, another expresses significant concerns about declining service, difficulty in communication, and perceived prioritization of profit over patient care.
Promotional Information: Building Relationships with the Community
Pet hospitals often engage in promotional activities to connect with pet owners and build relationships within the community. These might include:
- Welcome Offers for New Clients: Special discounts or packages for first-time visitors.
- Seasonal Promotions: Offers related to specific times of the year, such as discounts on heartworm prevention during warmer months or dental cleaning specials during dental health month.
- Educational Events: Hosting workshops or seminars on topics like pet nutrition, behavior, or first aid.
- Partnerships with Local Shelters and Rescues: Offering discounted services or support for animal welfare organizations.
- Loyalty Programs: Rewarding repeat clients with discounts or special offers.

Apr 11, 2025 · Joan WallaceI have only had good experiences at ECV both in Mora and Cambridge. I find that the staff are very personable and often willing to go the extra mile to accommodate my needs
May 08, 2025 · Larissa FredericksonHonestly, the vets here are nice. They really care about your pets. I met Dr. Tomas. He was very polite, and friendly. My dog is shy, but he and his assistant Bailey gave her lots of treats. I am giving a four not because of the vet or assistant, but because it's true that if you need to call for an appointment you are out of luck and need to wait.
Dec 16, 2024 · John MarinoThe best decision I ever made was taking Ed to East Central Veterinarians. Ed is my 13 yr old 100 lb mix (17 different ones according to genetics tests - Great Pyrenees 30%, Chow Chow 16%, Chihuahua 16%, and more) who came to me from a rescue 7 years ago. I don't know what happened in his past, but he is terrified of going to the vet or groomer. I tried MANY different places for his nail trims and exams, but East Central was the only place who really heard my concerns and worked with us to determine a regular plan for managing his fear driven aggression so he could get the care he need. I don't know what we would have done without them!
Sep 29, 2024 · Tracy ArseneaultI have found this clinic to be very cold. I have been a client there with more than one pet. When one of my cats was in kidney failure I took her to the clinic ASAP. I told the receptionist she was a patient of theirs and needed to be euthanized. She said the couldn't fit her in. I told her my cat was a patient there and they would see her because I not going to drive around trying to find a clinic that could humanely euthanized her. They finally agreed to perform the euthanasia. But why would deny they a cat they have seen before a timely euthanasia? Poor judgement or just don't care. That is so cold. I have felt no connection with them taking care of my cats. Just very cold and disconnected.
