Eagles Peak Animal Clinic

Max died in a terrible way- it was traumatic and likely very painful and he didn’t deserve it. Eagles Peak in Robesonia performed a surgery on Max that we decided was the best route of treatment for a slow-bleeding splenic mass. It was determined on Friday this would happen Saturday morning. I was weary as I wanted Max to pass away at home if it would be a long, hard road for him but Dr. Mike reassured me that the splenectomy could get the mass and potentially give him months to years of life. I agreed and brought him for surgery at 0800 Saturday morning. Surgery started at about 0830. Surgery was successful and the spleen and mass were removed and it did not appear to have metastasized. We were so happy. 1130 Max was walked out and began dripping blood from his abdomen to the asphalt. Kirk asked the tech, was this normal? Dr. Mike had already left the clinic at this time. She said there would be draining and she thought it was normal. Max refused to get in the car. They had to use a litter. By the time we got in the driveway about 15 minutes away, Max was staring and refusing to move. He sat up and blood poured out of his wound. He began to internally bleed so heavy, it came through the incision, and all over the car. My son saw this and we tried to stop it with paper towels while we scrambled to get emergency vet addresses. By the time Kirk got the vet, Max bled so much, he had to be euthanized. Keep in mind this was within one hour and he had reported he was bleeding already taking steps in the parking lot. The emergency vet was appalled that Max was released without monitoring. We didn’t know any better or we would have insisted he stay. The vet said that it’s at least 24 hours of monitoring OR transfer happens for monitoring. Neither of which happened or were offered. Eagles Peak rushed him out so they could close the clinic for the Saturday. It has been 4 days since Max died and not a single call back from Eagles Peak. They haven’t answered any questions and offered me zero explanation of what happened or why they didn’t monitor Max. They showed no concern, no sympathy, nothing. They didn’t care that Wyatt watched Max bleed out or that he died painfully. They didn’t care Sunday we had to clean blood out of the car seats from our beloved dog. We are heartbroken and disgusted. If you want to go to a vet that cares, consider not going to Eagles Peak. This is the most horrible experience I’ve ever had with an animal and I’m so sorry I made the choice to go there and have the surgery. I regret it and I wish I did better for

As a vet practice, you certainly must know that people will do just about anything for their fur babies. This "office" preys on those feelings and do surgeries with poor prognosis and expect payment when your pet bleeds out post op. "Some drainage is normal". 3L of blood is not normal. Removing a major organ and sending them home in less than 4 hours on a Saturday is bad practice. Leaving before the owners pick up their pet after a Saturday surgery so you can enjoy your weekend is also bad practice. Your practice is laughable when mentioned to other vets. Stop spending money on AI generated websites that make Dr. Mike look like the Pope because even the Pope wouldn't claim him at this point. In the bio of one of the techs, it states she "was taught compassion" working in a shelter after working around animals her whole life. If compassion doesn't come natural in this line of work, please find another profession. #justiceforMax

Staff is there to greet you right away. Very friendly and nice. More importantly, they were great with my big boy Duke. My Great Dane...The vet communicated very well. As usual, my boy can be very intimidating, but she was right down on the floor with me and my Dane. Thank you!!!

10/10 recommend finding a new vet for your animals unless you want them to end up like Max, after reading some of the reviews that weren’t deleted this seems to be an ongoing problem . They preform a major surgery and the dog ends up bleeding out. Max who unfortunately died because of this negligence. Max should have been held for 24 hour monitoring after the major surgery he had instead he was sent home a mere few hours after this major surgery. Actively bleeding but the vet was nowhere in office and the techs couldn’t be bothered to call him. Instead they sent max home where he died within the hour. Absolutely disgusting and this practice deserves to be shut down.

THEY ARE TERRIBLE! They treat your loving pets like trash. If you don’t care about your animals, if they live or die, this is the place for you. They should be shut down!!!!! Please take these reviews seriously before it’s too late.
