The head veterinarian at this facility troy suto D.V.M gave my dog back to me bleeding, misdiagnosed, and under medicated to be able to recover from a basic ear infection. They also gave my dog prescriptions that I did not approve and trimmed her claws till she bleeding for two days (also not approved)... also troy suto dose not show up on the state of Colorado license department as a licensed veterinarian.... please don't support a place that abuses you animal and gives it back to you. Your pet will appreciate it and love you more. My currant vet makes all my dogs happy to see them with no issues. I had to walk my dog into there facility myself. I just called and asked for there power of attorney and they hung up on me.... real professional 👌

Welcome to Dr. Troy Suto

Dr. Troy Suto, a veterinarian practicing at Chappelle Small Animal Hospital, located at 1601 N U.S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80524, USA, is part of a long-standing institution within the "Pet Hospital" category. Chappelle Small Animal Hospital has been serving the Fort Collins area and its surrounding communities since 1961, establishing itself as a full-service veterinary clinic dedicated to the health and well-being of dogs and cats. The hospital's mission is to provide high-quality medical and surgical veterinary care, coupled with exceptional client service.

The information surrounding Dr. Troy Suto and Chappelle Small Animal Hospital presents a mixed picture from customer reviews, reflecting a spectrum of experiences. While some clients express profound satisfaction with the care provided by Dr. Suto and the hospital, citing thoroughness, knowledge, and professionalism, other feedback raises concerns about specific interactions and outcomes. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on available information, acknowledging both positive aspects and areas highlighted for improvement by various clients.

Environment and Facilities

Chappelle Small Animal Hospital, where Dr. Troy Suto practices, is described as a comprehensive veterinary facility. Their website indicates a well-equipped two-acre facility designed to support a wide range of veterinary services. This includes four examination rooms, a fully equipped surgery room, an in-house laboratory for quick diagnostic testing, and an on-site pharmacy for convenient medication dispensing. The hospital also features amenities such as an isolation ward for contagious patients and indoor runs for larger hospitalized dogs, indicating a capacity for more intensive care.

Beyond the clinical spaces, the hospital property offers two acres of lawns and gardens, including a "bark park" area. This outdoor space provides opportunities for pets to relax and potentially reduce stress during their visits, which is a thoughtful addition not found at all veterinary clinics. The gardens are even certified by the National Wildlife Federation and the City of Fort Collins as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat, reflecting a commitment to a pleasant and natural environment. This comprehensive setup suggests an environment geared towards both efficient medical care and a more comfortable experience for pets and their owners.

Features and Customer Perceptions

The features of Chappelle Small Animal Hospital, and Dr. Troy Suto's practice within it, are best understood by considering the dual nature of customer feedback. On one hand, many clients highly commend Dr. Suto and the staff for being "extremely competent," "thorough, knowledgeable, and professional." This positive feedback, spanning over two decades of experience for some clients, highlights a consistent level of quality care and a strong sense of trust in the medical expertise provided. The appreciation for the doctors being "great with both animals and their guardians" speaks to a compassionate approach that extends to both the pet and the worried owner.

However, there are also reviews that express significant concerns. One particularly negative review alleges issues such as a pet being returned "bleeding, misdiagnosed, and under medicated," along with unauthorized prescriptions and excessive nail trimming leading to bleeding. The claim that Dr. Troy Suto does not appear on the Colorado state license department as a licensed veterinarian is a serious allegation. *It is important for potential clients to verify professional licenses directly with the Colorado Division of Professions and Occupations for their own assurance.* Another review mentions a negative experience attempting to inquire about "power of attorney" and being hung up on, which, if accurate, points to potential issues with client communication and professionalism in certain interactions.

These divergent experiences suggest that while the hospital aims for high standards and many clients receive excellent care, there may be inconsistencies in service delivery or specific incidents that lead to dissatisfaction for others. The longevity of the hospital (since 1961) and its AAHA accreditation (as indicated by CareCredit's doctor locator) suggest a commitment to maintaining high standards in veterinary practice, which typically involves rigorous evaluation of facilities, equipment, and medical protocols. The varied feedback underscores the importance of individual experiences and preferences when choosing a veterinary provider.

Promotional Information and Accessibility

While specific, ongoing promotional offers are not extensively detailed, their website does mention a "Client Education" section and ways to "Order Pet Food/Meds," suggesting a focus on client convenience and long-term pet wellness.

Located conveniently on N U.S. Hwy 287, they serve the Fort Collins area and are easily reachable. Their partnership with CareCredit indicates that they offer financing options to help clients manage veterinary expenses, a common practice in modern pet hospitals to make care more affordable. Dr. Suto is an extremely competent veterinarian. He is great with both animals and their guardians. I have been taking my pets to Chappelle Small Animal Hospital for over 20 years and have been nothing but very pleased with the doctors there. They are thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. I have to admit I have never asked for their power of attorney 😂 so I have no idea how they would respond to that.
