Welcome to our platform's Pet Hospital category, where we connect you with exceptional veterinary care providers. Today, we spotlight Dr. Brad Evergreen with Evergreen Holistic Veterinary, a distinguished pet hospital located in Monroe, Washington, dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for your animal companions. Dr. Evergreen's practice uniquely blends conventional veterinary medicine with a range of holistic therapies, offering a well-rounded approach to your pet's health and well-being.
While specific details about the physical environment of Evergreen Holistic Veterinary are limited in the readily available online information, the core tenets of holistic care strongly suggest a focus on creating a comfortable and stress-free atmosphere for animals. Holistic veterinary clinics often prioritize a calm and quiet setting to minimize anxiety in pets. This might include features such as separate waiting areas for different types of animals, the use of soothing pheromones, and examination rooms designed to feel less clinical and more inviting. The staff is typically trained in gentle handling techniques to ensure pets feel safe and secure throughout their visit. The underlying principle is to create a healing environment that supports both the physical and emotional well-being of the animals under their care.
Dr. Brad Evergreen offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services, integrating both traditional and alternative modalities to address a wide spectrum of health needs in pets. This integrated approach allows for a more personalized and thorough treatment plan for each animal. Based on the principles of holistic veterinary medicine and general information about such practices, the services likely include:
- General Wellness and Preventative Care: This forms the foundation of good health and includes routine check-ups, vaccinations tailored to individual needs (potentially including titer testing discussions), parasite prevention (flea, tick, heartworm), and discussions on optimal nutrition and lifestyle.
- Diagnostic Services: Utilizing modern veterinary diagnostic tools such as laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), digital radiography (X-rays), and potentially ultrasound to accurately assess your pet's health status and identify underlying issues.
- Conventional Medical Treatments: Providing standard medical care for various illnesses and injuries, including the use of pharmaceuticals when necessary, always with a consideration for the least invasive and most effective options.
- Surgical Services: Offering a range of surgical procedures, from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue surgeries, with a focus on patient safety and post-operative care.
- Holistic Therapies: This is a key differentiator of Evergreen Holistic Veterinary and likely includes:
- Veterinary Acupuncture: The strategic insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the nervous system, release endorphins, reduce pain and inflammation, and improve overall physiological function.
- Herbal Medicine: Utilizing the therapeutic properties of plants to support the body's natural healing mechanisms. Dr. Evergreen may prescribe customized herbal formulations based on a thorough assessment of your pet's condition.
- Nutritional Counseling: Recognizing the profound impact of diet on health, Dr. Evergreen likely offers guidance on species-appropriate nutrition, including raw food diets, home-cooked meals, and high-quality commercial diets, along with recommendations for supplements when needed.
- Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation): The application of specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular healing, reduce pain and inflammation, and accelerate tissue repair in various conditions such as arthritis, wounds, and post-surgical sites.
- Chiropractic Care (if offered or referred): Addressing musculoskeletal imbalances and their impact on the nervous system and overall health through manual adjustments.
- Massage Therapy (if offered or referred): Using various massage techniques to promote relaxation, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and aid in rehabilitation.
- Dental Care: Providing comprehensive dental services, including professional cleanings, dental examinations, and guidance on at-home oral hygiene to maintain your pet's dental health.
- Pain Management: Employing a multimodal approach to pain relief, integrating conventional pain medications with holistic therapies like acupuncture and laser therapy to ensure your pet's comfort.
- Management of Chronic Diseases: Developing comprehensive management plans for chronic conditions such as arthritis, allergies, diabetes, and kidney disease, often incorporating both conventional and holistic strategies to improve quality of life.
- End-of-Life Care: Offering compassionate palliative and hospice care to ensure comfort and dignity for terminally ill pets, as well as euthanasia services when appropriate, with a focus on the emotional well-being of both the pet and their family.
The features that distinguish Dr. Brad Evergreen with Evergreen Holistic Veterinary lie in their integrated approach and commitment to treating the whole animal. This philosophy emphasizes understanding the interconnectedness of a pet's physical, emotional, and environmental factors in maintaining health and addressing illness. Key features often associated with holistic veterinary practices include:
- Individualized Treatment Plans: Recognizing that each pet is unique, Dr. Evergreen likely develops tailored treatment plans that consider the individual animal's specific needs, lifestyle, and constitution, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Focus on Root Causes: Holistic medicine aims to identify and address the underlying causes of illness, rather than just treating the symptoms, promoting long-term health and well-being.
- Emphasis on Natural Therapies: Integrating evidence-based holistic modalities like acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional therapy alongside conventional treatments offers a broader range of therapeutic options with potentially fewer side effects.
- Client Education and Involvement: Holistic practitioners often prioritize educating pet owners about their animal's health and involving them in the treatment process, fostering a collaborative approach to care.
- Preventative Wellness Focus: A strong emphasis is placed on proactive measures to maintain health and prevent disease through optimal nutrition, lifestyle recommendations, and appropriate preventative care.
- Consideration of Environmental Factors: Recognizing the impact of the environment on health, Dr. Evergreen may discuss environmental modifications to support your pet's well-being.

Aug 25, 2020 · Rae DogmomDEFINITELY THE BEST CLINIC! We had different situations with our little maltse Gabi and every time it was service you can only dream about. Dr. Evergreen is very thorough in his examination, he and all his staff are very gentle and attentive to our fur baby. It's nice to be sure that your pet is in a good care! We would recommend Dr. Evergreen and his staff to any pet owner. It is such a relief to have a vet we can trust!!! Thank you so very much again!
Oct 05, 2023 · Inna PolonskyWe found Dr Evergreen through a referral - so happy with his care for our (now 3 year old) Chocolate lab, Makana. He's a wealth of information, doesnt try to 'upsell' on anything (if anything, he'll tell us what we dont really need to do/test, but gives the option to do it if we want)...you can tell he genuinely cares about our pup, and animals in general. He's great at reading our dogs body language (when he walked in the room at our last visit-he said to our dog 'oh, I know, you want to be excited but you cant because youre a little scared'...lol. She was.) He's easy to talk with and available to answer our many questions. We prefer titers to prevent over vaccinating (and vaccinations when needed) and we feed raw (first pet we've done this with)- Dr Evergreen is the first vet (in a line of 4 she's been to in her first 2 years) that we've seen who supports our desires. It took awhile to find him-but we're here to stay. We look forward to many years of care for our pup at Dr Evergreen's clinic & highly recommend him!
Jun 26, 2021 · Suzy HathewayMy dog came in with ear infections and a skin rash. A traditional vet had given him an antibiotic ointment for the ears and wanted to give him oral antibiotics, too. Dr. Evergreen diagnosed food allergies and put him on one 10-day supplement and skin treatment. We removed beef and wheat from his diet and he has been virtually symptom free for several weeks.
