Dr Townsend is absolutely wonderful. My cat had a very thorough wellness exam and throughout he did his best to make her comfortable. She didn't even twitch when he gave her the rabies exam. You can tell he loves animals. There was no hurrying throughout, and my cat was calmer at the end than at the beginning. The staff is equally welcoming and caring. I can't say enough about how happy I am!

Jan 24, 2025 · Larissa TaylorI’ve had animals all my life and this is by far the best experience I have ever had with a veterinary clinic. Dr. Townsend came with very high recommendations from my 90 year old dairy farmer grandmother who has known him as a vet for many many years. He is experienced and knowledgeable and has given the very best care to my dog and 3 cats through surgeries, regular check ups and emergency visits. Dr. Townsend and every person on staff at Dirigo genuinely care about animals and their humans. They listen to me and treat me with respect. Appointments are easy to make and prices are very reasonable. The office is always busy but they have a magical way of giving you all the time and attention you need. I can’t recommend them enough!
Aug 22, 2024 · Sarah JordaanI brought my two ladies in today for exams and shots. We had Brion R. and I just want to say- he really is wonderful! Super friendly, funny and knowledgeable. He did great with both of my dogs. Thankful to have found a local vet that was such a good fit.
Apr 10, 2025 · Jessica ChaseGood afternoon Dirigo Veterinary Care, just wanted to send out a word of thanks to Dr. Townsend and the entire staff at DVC, for all the care, support, comfort and professionalism that you all showed to Ruger and I, for his short time down here with us! Even though he had to cross the “rainbow bridge” unexpectedly and at a young age, I take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and suffering. He is now back with his brother Tucker (also a black lab), we lost a shot time ago at the young age of 16. They are back together chasing birds and swimming in the chrystal clear water. This is the last video I took of Tucker and Ruger “chasing birds” together.
Nov 26, 2024 · Mike WarrenIf I could give 10 stars I would. Our dog is fearful and hates going to the vet's, but Dr. Brion and Joanna spent time and worked calmly with her to put her at ease. The rest of the staff was also great and very efficient. We appreciated that we could bring Jenna in for a "Happy Visit" beforehand so she could get used to the office. Dr Brion was thorough, and gave us good advice about what she eats and issues with her weight.
