For the last 5 years, I had been taking my senior cat O’Malley to see Dr. Church. From day one, him and the rest of the team at DVMS were exceptional. The care provided by them was beyond my expectations. We unfortunately had to put O’Malley to sleep earlier this year due to his congestive heart failure. The staff had reached out over the phone to give their condolences immediately after it happened. But what really got me was that just a few days ago we got a special card in the mail saying that Dr. Church had donated on his behalf and in remembrance of O’Malley to the Pet Memorial program at the Phoenix Zoo. This is such a lovely gesture and we are forever grateful to him and the staff at DVMS.

Amazing clinic. We got referred here by our regular vet for recurring GI issues. The staff is incredibly kind, you can tell they genuinely care about all the animals in their care. Dr. Reinsche was outstanding. She is very experienced and knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. Would definitely recommend.

I've unfortunately had to use this service. Took my senior kitty on Thanksgiving Day and newly adopted dog (from the Maricopa County Animal Control) this Summer. When you have a sick fur baby I'm grateful that I live close to this emergency clinic. Everyone I've encountered there has been professional and caring. Pets have recovered and I have peace of mind in my decision to use this wonderful service.

I tried to set an appointment with them today. I talked to Alyssa and had a question. I prefaced it to acknowledge that I was confused by my vet’s plan and would be talking to her later, but it was my understanding that the vet hoped that by seeing the specialist at this location perhaps with the test results could lead to a sooner appointment with the oncologist at this location than the one I currently have for 5 weeks out. I asked if that was something that ever happened so I could report back to my vet later when I talked to her about X-ray results. Alyssa kept telling me to talk to my referring vet. Huh? Why would party A have more information about how parties B and C communicate than party B has. Then she told me to ask the oncologist about their schedule (which I obviously had already previously done). Again, why refer me to someone else when the question involves your facility? I asked her to stop repeating responses that I had already acknowledged which only seemed to turn her into a broken record. It’s so rude to keep repeating an irrelevant statement that someone clearly has the capacity to comprehend that is obviously not an answer to the question they’re asking, especially when they specifically ask you to stop doing that. So I asked to speak with someone else hoping to at least get someone willing to recognize that my question is indeed related to this business. After a fairly long wait I got Micaela and just asked her to listen to the call as it would speak for itself. I was worn down by this point and on the verge of tears. But she pressed me to tell her what happened so I gave a brief overview. She also responded that I needed to call the oncologist with questions about their schedule. So I reiterated that I had already acknowledged that response in my story to her. She responded that I was being “disrespectful” and that she could refer me to a different office because they weren’t able to make me happy. I have never, ever, ever been spoken to like that. They were going out of their way to not answer my question and I don’t know why. If what I’m asking never happens, say it. If it rarely happens, say it. If your policy forbids you from responding then say that. But don’t disrespect me by acting like any part if what they said made sense as an answer to my question then act like I’m being unreasonable when my frustration grows. My pet is sick. She’s very sick. My doctor doesn’t know what’s wrong. This is taking a lot of time and money and no outcome is guaranteed. I am a human being having a reasonable reaction to this. I’m sad. I’m scared. My ability to deliver on promises I’ve made to my pet to care for her are being threatened. And this is all very, very expensive. I don’t think asking about my understanding of common business practices at this exact business so I can confirm the plan with my vet is being in any way unreasonable. And I assure you, I disrespected no one. Nothing I did or said even approaches the level of disrespect these employees showed to me. I’ve been crying for 2 hours since that call and have reported their behavior back to the owner of the very large practice that referred me there. I’ve spent nearly $50k in vet bills since 2019; a couple thousand here and about double that with the oncologist at this location. I will do and pay for what my animals need for their care. I take ownership of my emotions and the role I play in getting access to that care. Most people appreciate my business, especially when it comes to veterinary care. If anyone at this business reads reviews feel free to listen to the call. It was at 10:32 on 12/3/2024. I would encourage anyone in a customer facing role to strive to be compassionate, communicative, and solutions oriented.

Most of the staff at Desert Veterinary is so amazing and caring. We unfortunately had to bring our dog in the other day with a medical emergency. They got him right in and started treating him. The front office staff was super caring and professional, and the vet made sure we knew what was going on every step of the way. Unfortunately the decision had to be made to put our beloved dog down; he just got way too sick way too fast. Even then, we were able to have time with him in their comfort room for as long as we wanted and we're able to be with him until the very end. The vet was so understanding and so caring; I will be forever grateful to her. My only issue was with the girl who does the finances, who was as cold as ice. I understand the need to be practical and that money is inevitably and unfortunately a very real part of Veterinary care, however she never showed an ounce of compassion. Overall though, they made the experience as good as it possibly could have been.
