Yesterday, we had to make the incredibly difficult decision to put our dog to sleep. During such a heartbreaking moment, the compassion and care shown by the staff meant so much. When we walked in, the front desk employee was incredibly kind and empathetic. She was genuinely sad for our loss and offered her thoughts and prayers, which we deeply appreciated. We were taken to a private room and given time and space to say our goodbyes at our own pace. We were even given a frame with a button to press when we were ready for the vet to come in. The staff provided us with beautiful paw print stamps and even cut a piece of the blanket we used to bury him in, giving us a keepsake we will treasure forever. They also gave us a burial box, and allowed us to leave out the side door rather than walking through the front. In a moment filled with sorrow, their kindness and attention to detail brought so much comfort.

Welcome to Cypress Lakes Animal Hospital
Welcome to Cypress Lakes Animal Hospital, a Pet Hospital located at 5490 Celebration Dr, Hope Mills, NC 28348, USA. You can contact them at (910) 321-7297 or their mobile number +1 910-321-7297. Based on customer feedback, this animal hospital demonstrates significant compassion and care, particularly during sensitive times, while also highlighting an area for potential improvement in customer service.
One deeply moving review recounts a pet owner's experience of having to euthanize their dog. During this incredibly difficult time, the reviewer emphasized the immense comfort provided by the staff's compassion and care. From the moment they entered, the front desk employee showed genuine empathy and offered condolences, which were deeply appreciated. The provision of a private room allowed the owners to say their goodbyes at their own pace, with a thoughtful gesture of a call button to indicate when they were ready for the veterinarian. The staff further demonstrated their sensitivity by providing paw print stamps and a keepsake from the pet's blanket, along with a burial box, and even allowed the grieving owners to leave through a side door for added privacy. This review paints a picture of a Pet Hospital that goes above and beyond in providing emotional support and thoughtful consideration during end-of-life care.
However, another review presents a contrasting experience regarding a phone inquiry about an X-ray cost for a feral cat needing TNR (trap-neuter-release). The reviewer described the staff member who answered the phone as having an attitude and using a condescending tone, repeatedly calling the caller "honey," which was perceived as disrespectful and unprofessional. Despite this, the reviewer proceeded with the inquiry but was told that a cost estimate, or even a cost range, for an X-ray could not be provided, unlike other veterinary offices contacted. As someone involved in TNR, the reviewer expressed their intention not to bring cats to this clinic due to this negative initial interaction, emphasizing that the front desk represents the face of the office, and the choice of these employees is crucial. This feedback indicates a potential inconsistency in customer service, with a need for improvement in phone etiquette and transparency regarding service costs, especially for individuals working with rescue animals.
Considering these two contrasting experiences, Cypress Lakes Animal Hospital, as a Pet Hospital, likely offers a range of veterinary services. Based on the context of the reviews, these services would reasonably include:
- Euthanasia Services: As highlighted in the first review, they provide compassionate end-of-life care, including creating a comforting environment and offering keepsakes for grieving owners.
- Radiology (X-ray): The second review inquired about the cost of an X-ray, indicating that this diagnostic service is available. X-rays are crucial for diagnosing various conditions, including fractures, foreign bodies, and certain organ issues.
- General Veterinary Care: While not explicitly detailed, it is implied that they offer standard veterinary services since they operate as an animal hospital. This would typically include wellness exams, vaccinations, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and potentially surgical procedures.
- TNR Support (potentially): Although one experience was negative, the fact that someone called regarding a feral cat for TNR suggests that the clinic might, under different circumstances, cater to such needs.
Features of Cypress Lakes Animal Hospital, based on the customer reviews, include:
- Compassionate End-of-Life Care: The staff demonstrated exceptional empathy and provided thoughtful support to a pet owner during a very difficult time.
- Provision of Comfort and Keepsakes: Offering private rooms, paw print stamps, blanket keepsakes, and burial boxes shows attention to the emotional needs of pet owners.
- Availability of Diagnostic Imaging: X-ray services are offered, which are essential for diagnosing various medical conditions.
- Potential Area for Improvement in Front Desk Customer Service: One reviewer had a negative experience with a staff member who was perceived as condescending and unhelpful regarding cost information.
There is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. However, the positive review regarding end-of-life care could be seen as an implicit message about the hospital's caring and empathetic approach, which might be a significant factor for pet owners seeking a compassionate veterinary provider.
For local users in Hope Mills, NC, Cypress Lakes Animal Hospital appears to be a place where, under certain circumstances, you can expect compassionate and thoughtful care, particularly during sensitive times like saying goodbye to a beloved pet. However, the contrasting review indicates that the experience might vary, especially concerning initial interactions and cost transparency. If you are looking for a Pet Hospital that demonstrates empathy and provides comfort during difficult moments, Cypress Lakes Animal Hospital may be a consideration. However, it might be prudent to be mindful of potential inconsistencies in customer service, especially when making initial inquiries.

Apr 15, 2025 · Jessica PriceI called to find out how much an X-ray would be for a feral I trapped for TNR. His leg appears to be broken. The girl who answered had an attitude and spoke in a very condescending tone. She kept calling me honey, please don’t call clients honey, it’s disrespectful and unprofessional. I let all that go and she said she can’t give me a cost estimate, I asked for a range and she said no honey. Not even a cost range for a dang X-ray on a feral cat? Every other vet I called gave me the cost breakdown. I do a lot of TNR and will not be taking any of the cats there. Not when there are vet offices that go out of their way to make you feel respected, welcomed and are helpful when you call. The front desk is the face of your office you must choose those employees wisely.
Apr 03, 2025 · Rachel SandersonWith heavy heart, we had to put our Oreo to sleep today, he was 16.we dreaded it so much. The way the staff and the vet handled this was so respectful and dignified. Because of the great care and understanding we were given, made it much easier for us to let our little guy go. We thank you very much.
Oct 04, 2024 · Jeaninne ReyesExcellent vet office! I brought my dog here today for the first time, and we had a wonderful experience. Scheduling an appointment was easy, and checking in and out was a breeze. The vet tech and veterinarian were both awesome with my dog. Thanks for the great service!
Feb 07, 2025 · BriI recently took my male to cypress lakes to be neutered, and it was a terrible experience, there was no communication, and the girl who took my sweet boy back didnt talk to him reassure him pet him or anything and she had no patience for him, or myself. she quite literally dragged him back. 0/10 also when i went to pick him up she was the same way, she was rushing me to put his E collar on and to put my leash on him, i will NEVER go back there.
