I don't know that I would quite rave about this veterinary clinic to the same level as others, but it was pretty good. It was easy to make an appointment, and once we arrived with our pet, we were seen quickly. I wasn't terribly impressed with the bedside manner of the vet, however, and the care is pretty costly. To nitpick, the utter lack of parking was also annoying. I understand that there is little the clinic can do with the awkwardly-shaped parcel of land on which they are located, but having to park on busy Cypress St and walk half a block with a distressed pet was less than ideal.

Welcome to Cypress Animal Hospital
Cypress Animal Hospital, located at 1400 Cypress St, Covina, CA 91724, USA, operates as a "Pet Hospital" dedicated to providing veterinary care for local residents. You can reach them at (626) 331-0775 or +1 626-331-0775. The clinic aims to offer comprehensive services for beloved pets, striving to keep them healthy and happy.
The physical location of Cypress Animal Hospital on Cypress St in Covina presents both conveniences and challenges. While it's a local option for many pet owners, one client noted that parking can be an issue. The "utter lack of parking" and the need to "park on busy Cypress St and walk half a block with a distressed pet" is a significant consideration. This suggests that while the clinic's location might be centrally accessible, arriving with a pet, especially one that is anxious or unwell, could be less than ideal due to parking constraints. Despite this, the ease of making appointments and being seen quickly once at the clinic are positive aspects of their operational environment, indicating efficient scheduling and patient flow management. The clinic seems to manage its internal processes well, minimizing wait times and ensuring pets are attended to promptly after arrival.
As a full-service "Pet Hospital," Cypress Animal Hospital provides a range of veterinary services designed to maintain and restore pet health. While specific medical procedures are not detailed in the provided reviews, the general nature of the feedback points to routine and ongoing care. One client credits the hospital with being "essential in keeping my pets healthy," which implies a strong emphasis on preventative care, wellness exams, and addressing common ailments. The staff's ability to provide "very good information" and the veterinarians' willingness to "answer, in detail, my many questions" suggest a focus on client education and thorough communication regarding pet health. This collaborative approach with pet owners is a key component of their service delivery, ensuring that clients are well-informed and empowered to make the best decisions for their animals.
Cypress Animal Hospital receives high praise for its staff and overall service efficiency. Clients consistently describe employees as "polite, helpful, and knowledgeable." This positive interaction with the support staff and veterinarians is a significant feature, fostering a welcoming and reassuring environment for pet owners. The clinic's "availability is good and wait times are reasonable," which contributes to a convenient and stress-free experience, especially for busy individuals. The veterinarians are particularly commended for their willingness to engage in detailed discussions, providing thorough answers to questions and ensuring pet owners are fully informed about their pet's condition and treatment options. This dedication to clear communication and transparency is a hallmark of their client-focused approach.
However, the client feedback also highlights a few areas of concern. While the quality of care is generally good, one reviewer noted that they "wasn't terribly impressed with the bedside manner of the vet." This suggests that while the medical knowledge may be strong, individual communication styles can vary and may not always align with every client's expectations for empathetic interaction. Additionally, the care is described as "pretty costly." This perception of high cost, alongside the parking issues, indicates that while the quality of service is valued, the financial aspect and logistical convenience are important considerations for potential clients. Despite these points, the overwhelming sentiment from long-term clients is one of strong satisfaction, with some stating they "can't imagine going anywhere else," demonstrating a high level of loyalty built on consistent positive experiences.
Cypress Animal Hospital primarily promotes itself through its strong reputation for knowledgeable and helpful staff, coupled with efficient service. The positive testimonials, especially from long-standing clients, act as powerful endorsements, highlighting the clinic's reliability in maintaining pet health. The commitment to providing detailed information and answering client questions thoroughly serves as an organic promotional tool, attracting pet owners who value clear communication and a collaborative approach to care.
While the cost of services is noted as being on the higher side by one reviewer, the overall positive feedback regarding the quality of care and the professionalism of the staff suggests that many clients find the value to be commensurate with the price. For pet owners in Covina, Cypress Animal Hospital presents itself as a dedicated and knowledgeable partner in pet care, offering efficient service and a commitment to keeping pets healthy. Despite the parking challenges, the consistent praise for their staff and comprehensive information delivery makes it a strong contender for those seeking reliable and informative veterinary support for their animal companions.

Apr 30, 2025 · Daniel BettsI can't say enough great things about Dr. Swindall and her amazing staff at Cypress Animal Hospital. From the moment we walk in, I felt like my pet was in genuinely caring and capable hands. Dr. Swindall is not only knowledgeable but also incredible compassionate -she took the time to explain everything in detail, answer all of my questions, and never made us feel rushed. I completely trust them and highly recommend Cypress Animal Hospital for anyone looking for top-notch veterinary care.
Apr 23, 2025 · Betty MUpdate: I took my dog there for minor surgery. Dr Swindell, co-owner of Cypress was super friendly and helpful in explaining the procedure she will be doing. We have a follow up appt next week to take out his stitches. My Sushi looks great. Once the cone is removed, he can drink and eat again. We truly like Dr. Swindell and her staff! I just completed my dog's annual exams and shots. I did call them re pricing. Over the phone, staff is very helpful and courteous. I did ask if they were accepting new pets? They said yes. I am very pleased with the way staff treated Sushi and me. Everyone is so nice and pleasant. I would recommend this place. Also my groomers, Valerie and Bianca are there too. They are the best groomers. They love my Sushi! Here is Sushi's summer cut.
