CVCA Cardiac Care For Pets

We normally take our dog to the Columbia location but since they're doing renovations, our latest appointment was at this Cockeysville location and they were great. The facility is clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, and there's plenty of room for patients to be able to be in the waiting room without being right next to other patients. Our dog is a little difficult when it comes to being examined but the veterinary staff are always so accommodating and patient (at either CVCA facility we've been to). We never feel like we're burdening them with him or that they're rushing us in any way. I truly can't recommend CVCA and Dr Rosenthal, especially, to anyone with a pet with cardiac issues. Its been almost 4 years since we were told at an emergency vet that our dog may only have a few months left but with the help of CVCA he has made such an improvement and is back to being a happy boy.

We highly recommend CVCA! We had to take our great dane to an emergency vet a few nights ago due to a sudden collapse. We had numerous diagnostics done all night with no obvious answers for what caused it. Our vet suggested a visit to a cardiologist to find or rule-out if it may have been a cardiac issue. We called many clinics within a few hour radius and many couldn't get us in for a few months. We chose CVCA based on reading many of the reviews here and once we submitted the information they were able to fit us in a cancellation slot the very next day. Our entire experience was just as everyone else here described. The staff and Dr. Shih were very friendly, caring, the level of detail that was explained to us during the entire exam, findings, and care plan were unlike anything I have had in the past when our past pets needed to see a specialist for something. I was so impressed! Luckily our pet has a healthy heart, which is great news, but it was worth every penny for the care, time, expertise, and peace of mind. Of course I hope we don't need to return but if we ever need to we will make the far drive without hesitation! Thank you!

These folks were amazing. They got us in quickly to see our dog. They treated us with much respect. They didn't rush the appointment and were very sweet and very gentle with our pup. They also took the time to explain everything to us that they found regarding the test results. Thank you.

Everyone here was so kind to my baby. They treated her gently and with lots of love and care. Our doctor was very knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. The staff was very friendly and the clinic is clean and welcoming. We also appreciated the after visit summary email that further explained everything.

Had to wait all of 2 minutes to be led to the examination room. Then tech stayed to get information and the doc came in literally a minute before the tech was finished. we were allowed to stay with our dog for all the procedures. Both the tech and doctor were extremely nice, explained everything they were doing and then comprehensive diagnosis. I really enjoyed the visit and so did my old decrepit doggie. :)

I’ve only taken my dog here one time, but Dr. Shih and her staff were great. I really feel like she took her time to adequately diagnose and help me understand my dog’s heart condition and how to manage it going forward. Despite there not being a ton of options in the immediate area, I highly recommend Dr. Shih if you’re seeking a cardiologist for your pet. Compassionate, thorough, and knowledgeable.
