The core services offered at CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets revolve around veterinary cardiology. This includes a range of diagnostic procedures essential for accurately assessing a pet's heart health. These may include:

  • Electrocardiography (ECG): A non-invasive test that records the electrical activity of the heart to detect abnormalities in rhythm and conduction.
  • Echocardiography: An ultrasound of the heart that provides detailed images of the heart's structure and function, allowing for the identification of valve issues, chamber enlargement, and other abnormalities.
  • Radiography (X-rays): Chest X-rays can help evaluate the size and shape of the heart and detect fluid buildup in the lungs, which can be associated with heart failure.
  • Holter Monitoring: A 24-hour or longer ECG recording used to detect intermittent arrhythmias that may not be apparent during a brief in-clinic ECG.
  • Blood Pressure Measurement: Essential for assessing overall cardiovascular health and monitoring the effects of certain heart medications.
  • Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Procedures: In some specialized cases, minimally invasive procedures may be performed to diagnose or treat certain heart conditions.

Beyond diagnostics, CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets provides comprehensive treatment and management plans tailored to each pet's specific needs. This may involve medication management, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle adjustments to help improve the pet's quality of life and slow the progression of heart disease. This center has the best, most excellent, super-professional receptionists, technicians, and clinicians, not at the vet center level but at the generalized healthcare level. My daughter, my honey bear Kira, and I felt speechless, saturated with the care, kindness, warm smiles, comprehensive explanation, and professionalism.

My cat visited both of the doctors here while dealing with heart failure. The team is great, their processes are smooth, and I felt like my boy was in great hands and had a great, extended quality of life at the end because of the folks here.

Very pleased with our cardiology experience! We just moved to Texas and needed to get set up with a cardiologist here - our 12.5 year old mini Aussie, Rio, has a heart murmur and mitral valve degeneration. CVCA was recommended through our primary care vet and we originally had an appointment for May 2025 but due to a few changes in Rio’s health we moved the appointment up to Dec 2024 which was very easy to do. The appointment went very smoothly, the techs were great and handled Rio calmly and gently, making sure she felt comfortable. I was able to be in the room while they performed the tests and the techs and Dr both explained what they were doing. Dr Katie was great, she recapped Rio’s condition in terms that were understandable and told me what to expect and what to look for in the future. Her new medication was sent to the pharmacy, was easy to fill and it was very simple to make her follow-up appointment in 6 months. Thank you for taking such good care of our sweet girl!

Showed absolutely amazing care for my little troublemaker, taking the time to make sure I was fully informed on his diagnosis and treatment and being very gentle and caring with the hard news of my cats condition. Shelley was so so sweet when booking the appointment and when I brought him in, giving him a lot of compliments and even giving cuddles while the doctor was talking to me! They were extremely safe with COVID protocols and treated both me and my kitty with care and respect. Grateful to have such wonderful specialized veterinary care available to me
