On April 25, 2025, as we were leaving Surf City after a week-long family vacation on the beach, our beloved Koko (rescued pit mix) became extremely ill. We ended up at Craven Hospital and were instantly greeted - Koko was then rushed from our truck on a stretcher and taken care of immediately. To our great sadness, Dr. Baker explained to us that it appeared Koko had an internal mass that had ruptured causing internal bleeding. She then explained our options. Dr. Baker and Shirley could not have been more compassionate and sympathetic to Koko's (and our) needs. We weren't prepared for such a devastating diagnosis as we thought it was just exhaustion from a week on the beach. Koko was put to rest a short time later and the wonderful people at Craven wrapped her up and put her back in our truck for the 13 hour drive home to PA. While our hearts are shattered, we cannot thank Dr. Baker, Shirley, and the others enough for the care Koko (and my husband and I) received that dreadful afternoon. May God bless you all for the work that you do for our furry family members.

Entire staff is extremely friendly and respectful. They talk to us and involve us with our dog's medical care instead of just forcing us to do want they want without our knowledge. I appreciate being included in decisions. My dog has high anxiety; they always calm her down and comfort her. Recommend this vet for your pets' medical care.

Excellent communication, customer service, and super friendly! I really appreciated Clint’s appointment reminder call and his time to answer all my questions and explain all that was required for both of my fur babies! Extremely grateful!

This place is any animal’s best friend. Great atmosphere, great staff and ridiculously happy pets. The girls at the front desk? Totally awesome! You just gotta go here. I’m so glad I switched. I feel much more comfortable knowing my babies are in very confident and capable hands.

First off I would say for a general purpose vet they are very good; however, if your animal needshelp or is in pain they will not be any help within a reasonable time frame. I have two incidents with them they I find appalling as my dog is and has been their patient,: 1 My dog got into something and would not eat or drink for a couple of days, When I called them during business hours they could not see him for over a week. By them my dog would have died. I had to take him during that time to the emergency vet twice. You would think that a patient of theirs that was at risk they would have shown compassion. NOPE! 2. In September 0f 2022 my Beagle was diagnosed with a bad back and prescribed Carprofen 75mg which I asked for a refill. I told them that my 92 year old mother was in rehab in Florida and I had to go in a couple of days. I read up this is a common pain reliever and muscle relaxer for dogs. I can also feel the tightness in his back the last x-rays showed he had an issue. They refused to fill it again offering to make an appointment a week or so out. So my dog suffers for a week or two or I do not go and help my 92 year old mother in rehab. What choices they give do they have compassion for their patients - NOPE. I need to find a vet now that has compassion for their patients before I lose my dog dealing with this place. I love my dog too much to risk him to this place.
