Welcome to Countryside Veterinary Clinic: Dr. R.L. Massucco, Jr.
Welcome to Countryside Veterinary Clinic, located at 92 Ellery St, Wrentham, MA 02093, USA. As a local Pet Hospital under the experienced guidance of Dr. R.L. Massucco, Jr., we aim to provide veterinary care services to the community and address the health needs of your animal companions. Our clinic offers a range of services, striving to be a resource for pet owners in Wrentham and the surrounding areas.
Based on available feedback, the environment of Countryside Veterinary Clinic appears to have aspects that elicit varied reactions from clients. One long-time customer noted a comfortable atmosphere for larger dogs, suggesting that the clinic may be equipped to accommodate animals of different sizes, and specifically mentioned Dr. Massucco's potential experience with larger breeds, which could be a notable feature for owners of such animals. This suggests a degree of familiarity and comfort in handling larger pets within the clinic setting.
However, other feedback presents a contrasting view of the clinic's environment and customer service. Concerns have been raised regarding the cleanliness of the facility, with specific mentions of dirt stains on walls and dirty floors. Additionally, one customer reported finding nails laid out on a windowsill within reach of pets and the presence of boxes in the entryway, raising potential safety concerns. These observations suggest that some areas of the clinic's physical environment may not consistently meet the expectations of all clients regarding cleanliness and safety.
In terms of services, Countryside Veterinary Clinic, led by Dr. R.L. Massucco, Jr., offers general veterinary care. One positive aspect highlighted by a long-term client is the clinic's apparent ability to comfortably accommodate larger dogs, which may indicate experience in handling and treating animals of various sizes. This could be a significant benefit for owners of large breed dogs seeking veterinary care in the Wrentham area.
However, a specific instance detailed by a customer regarding a request for hip x-rays for their German Shepherd raises concerns about appointment scheduling, communication, and diagnostic procedures. The client reported a 2.5-week wait for the x-ray appointment, despite confirming the procedure at the time of booking. Furthermore, upon arrival, the requirement for sedation and fasting was communicated for the first time, leading to a delay in obtaining the necessary diagnostics. The client also questioned the necessity of immediate sedation without attempting to perform the x-ray with manual restraint first, suggesting a potential difference in procedural approaches compared to other veterinary practices.
The feedback also includes a negative experience with the front desk staff, described as rude and uninterested in the pets. This perception of the administrative staff could impact the overall client experience, regardless of the quality of medical care provided. Effective and empathetic communication from all members of the veterinary team is crucial for building trust and ensuring client satisfaction.
Features of Countryside Veterinary Clinic, as perceived by clients, include Dr. Massucco's potential experience with larger animals, which is a positive aspect for owners of such pets. However, the reported issues with front desk demeanor, facility cleanliness, communication regarding pre-procedure requirements, and the approach to diagnostic imaging (specifically the immediate recommendation for sedation) may be areas of concern for potential clients.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in learning about any special offers or the clinic's current practices are advised to contact Countryside Veterinary Clinic directly at (508) 384-8700 or +1 508-384-8700. Direct communication will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding services, appointment availability, and any potential promotions.
In summary, Countryside Veterinary Clinic, under the direction of Dr. R.L. Massucco, Jr., in Wrentham, MA, offers veterinary services to the local community. While one long-term client appreciates the clinic's comfort level with larger dogs, other feedback raises concerns regarding customer service, facility cleanliness, and certain aspects of their procedural and communication practices. Potential clients are encouraged to weigh these perspectives and contact the clinic directly for more information to determine if it meets their individual needs and expectations for a Pet Hospital.
Local users seeking a Pet Hospital in Wrentham, MA, should consider the various aspects of Countryside Veterinary Clinic as reflected in the available feedback. The potential expertise with larger breeds may be a significant advantage for some pet owners. However, the reported issues with customer service and the facility environment are factors that prospective clients may want to explore further by contacting the clinic directly and potentially visiting the premises to form their own assessment.

Apr 28, 2025 · Scott BenderWe will never be back. Ladies at the front desk are rude and not interested in the pets. We watched customers try to make jokes with them and they seem rude and miserable. 2.5 weeks ago we asked for our 7 month old German Shepard to get x-rays for his hips because he has been hopping like a bunny and seems a little uncomfortable. When we made this appointment I confirmed we would absolutely be doing x-rays that day and we would not just be coming in for a visit. They said yes. We had to wait 2.5 weeks to get this done. We showed up and walked in- inside the first door there were nails all laid out on the windowsill, where our dog could reach and boxes. Walls were covered with stains of dirt, floors were dirty. (Seems inappropriate seeing how pets are coming in - if you care about my pet wouldn’t you want to keep him safe and clean ?) we went in to see the vet and he told us if we are to do x-rays he needs to be sedated and needs to fast for the X-ray. I asked why we didn’t get a call about this so we could do it today. He said he didn’t see the visit until this morning - I again asked, why did we not get a call ? He had no explanation. If our German Shepard has hip dysplasia, time is super important for him - he needs to get an X-ray early since he’s still growing. The vet knew this. Also, our dog shouldn’t need to immediately be sedated without trying to get an x ray without first. Do you not have the man power to hold him still in the x ray? Because that’s not safe. We ended up finding a vet that held him and he did not need sedation. We were disgusted. A total waste of time for us and the health of our dog. We told the vet that there were nails sitting out on the windowsill, like the front desk people, he had a flat affect and didn’t care. Horrible.
Mar 21, 2025 · Shannon WAll of the vets here are very good and very caring. They are also reasonable with costs compared to some other local vets. We switched to countryside ~10 years ago after another local vet said they would need to pull most of our cat's teeth and it was going to be $1k+ and he'd need special food his whole life, so we got a second opinion and countryside took a closer look and only 1 tooth needed to go, and he lived another 9 years (to 19) happily. They are very good and patient with our anxious dogs as well.
May 04, 2023 · Nick DeubertI've been taking my puppy here for a few months - all the staff are very caring and helpful, doctor is very knowledgeable and good with my dog. Prices are reasonable compared to other vets I've been to. Can't reccomend enough.
Jul 02, 2023 · Jacob BernierCountryside has been a care provider for us for over ten years. They saved our dog when another vet we saw in an emergency told us there would be thousands of dollars of surgeries. We took him to Countryside as our regular vet thinking we were going to have to put him down and they worked with us to explore options. The options gave our dog another three years of life without breaking the bank! Their care made sense and was reasonable for an old dog, as well. Their approach was less taxing on the dog overall and saved his life. We now have a new pup in our lives and they’ve been amazing with him, too. Staff are caring, kind, helpful, and our dog is their priority. When he was neutered, they called to update right away once he was out of surgery so we didn’t just worry and wonder all day. That was unexpected and so thoughtful! We recommend everyone we know to Countryside!
