My mother brought her dog there. They did a surgery and wanted him back in 2 weeks for stitch removal. They failed to mention they would be on vacation during the time the stitches needed to come out.(not mad about them taking a vacation but they should have planned better) My mother had to wait an extra week. She brought him in for stitch removal just to find out the stitches dissolved and nothing was needed. All done an good except they went ahead and charged her $100 for doing NOTHING. I must be spoiled at my vet I would NEVER be charged for nothing. Let alone a follow up for a procedure I already paid for. I wouldn't take my animals to a place like that. My mother has asked me to leave a review so here it is.

Welcome to Colonial Animal Clinic
Welcome to Colonial Animal Clinic, your local Pet Hospital located at 321 W Main St, Hillsboro, OH 45133, USA. We aim to provide veterinary care for your beloved pets in Hillsboro, Ohio, and the surrounding areas. As a Pet Hospital, we offer a range of services to support the health and well-being of your animals.
While specific details about the clinic's environment are not extensively described in the provided reviews, we can gather some insights into the overall experience. One reviewer mentioned that their mother had a dog undergo surgery at the clinic, suggesting a facility equipped for surgical procedures. Another reviewer, who recently started bringing their dogs to Colonial Animal Clinic, described the staff as "very friendly." This indicates a positive and welcoming atmosphere created by the team. However, a contrasting review detailed an issue with post-operative follow-up scheduling due to the clinic's vacation and a subsequent charge for a seemingly unnecessary check-up. This suggests that while the staff can be friendly, there might be areas for improvement in communication and billing practices.
Colonial Animal Clinic, as a Pet Hospital, offers a variety of services to care for your pets. The reviews indicate that they perform surgeries, as one dog had a "surgery" with a need for "stitch removal." They also handle post-operative care, although one review pointed out a lapse in communication regarding follow-up timing. The positive review from a newer client suggests that they also provide general veterinary care, as the client mentioned switching from a previous vet and finding Colonial Animal Clinic to be "very reasonably priced." Typically, pet hospitals offer services such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostics, medical treatments, and surgical procedures. To get a comprehensive list of all the services available at Colonial Animal Clinic, it is best to contact them directly.
A notable feature mentioned in one review is the "very reasonably priced" nature of Colonial Animal Clinic compared to another veterinary provider. This could be a significant benefit for pet owners in the Hillsboro area looking for quality care that fits their budget. The second positive review also highlighted the "very friendly" staff, which contributes to a positive client experience. However, it's important to also consider the feedback from the other review, which raised concerns about communication regarding the clinic's operating schedule (vacation) affecting post-operative care and the practice of charging for a follow-up appointment where no actual treatment was needed. This suggests that while affordability and friendliness may be strengths, there could be inconsistencies in administrative practices and communication.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews for Colonial Animal Clinic. However, the positive comment about being "very reasonably priced" acts as an indirect form of positive marketing. For any specific promotions, discounts for new clients, or information on payment options, it would be best to contact the clinic directly. Understanding their policies on follow-up appointments and communication regarding scheduling changes would also be beneficial for potential clients.
