Colima Animal Hospital

I drive an hour to take my dog there. They have excellent medical services. Front desk needs more friendly service but the vets in general are great. Affordable prices too. I visited different vet offices but this one was the only one helping with a planned C section for my tea cup Maltese. Other places refused to help and she almost died with her first pregnancy, adding that the 2 puppies didn’t make it. This office offered a great service and thanks to them my dog is a live and her 2 puppies too.

As a breeder and vet student, I’ve tried many different animal hospitals, but none compare to Colima Animal Hospital. The doctors here are incredibly knowledgeable, and their prices are fair, especially compared to most vets in LA County. I’ve noticed some people complain about the wait time, but I completely understand—this facility only takes walk-ins because they genuinely try to help as many pets as possible. A special thank you to the front desk staff—Trish, Terri, and Zebrine—who are always so helpful and friendly, even when dealing with anxious clients. I wouldn’t trust my pets with anyone else!

I took my very sick cat there. But, Vaccinations come first, I guess. Is that an Emergency? Finally seen a doctor, and all they did was take trays, draw blood...but never gave her I.V. treatment...she was obviously dehydrated. Doctor never called me back today, with blood results, and I was on hold for 15 minutes...hung up, called back , and person told me..that he's not even here now. Then why was I on hold? Really? She said she'd leave him a message for Monday. B.S. because...I called early morning , told them my cat had died...so I feel at that point, I was the bottom of the Totom pole...no more $$$ money to get from me!! Not even cool! Unprofessional!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. I brought my dog in for an ear infection, and despite multiple visits and expensive treatments, the issue was never fully resolved. Each follow-up appointment led to more medication and inflated costs, yet no definitive answers or effective solutions were provided. It felt like they were more focused on charging for treatments than actually helping my pet. I trusted them to care for my dog, but unfortunately, we only ended up with more frustration and an unresolved health issue. I would not recommend this clinic if you’re looking for thorough and honest veterinary care. $2000 later and every illness that followed the ear infection and still not better.

I’ve had the same experience as another patient here. My dog had ear surgery about almost $1000 the problem didn’t get fixed instead the Dr said it could be an ear infection? Another $500 for consultation and ear cream still didn’t help my dog his ear is red swollen shut Closed. I called again to see is my dog can be seen for the same thing without a consultation fee and was put on hold for 25min from the staff that doesn’t have patience and doesn’t let you get a word in, there always such in a hurry do not take your pet there!
