My close friend woke to one of her cats laying downstairs in an unconscious, convulsing state. Our own vet of 30 years, who has taken care of our 20+ pets and spayed!neutered over 250 of our rescues was nowhere to be found. His Friday replacement told us at 9:30 that she might be able to do an emergency Euthanizing At around 2:30. I called Claysville Animal Care because I’ve heard such good things about them and they took us right in. Honey bun was given the compassionate sendoff to the bridge that she deserved. Next week I will be getting all of our papers from our former vet and moving on to this wonderful veterinary clinic. Dr. Heather Wilson and her staff were incredibly compassionate And just all around Top Notch. I can’t say enough good things about them!

Operating under the "Pet Hospital" category, Claysville Animal Care is dedicated to offering a comprehensive array of services and goods designed to ensure the health, comfort, and well-being of companion animals, integrating compassionate care with effective veterinary medicine.
The environment of Claysville Animal Care is a standout feature, significantly enhanced by a "new building." This new facility likely provides a modern, clean, and well-organized space that contributes to a positive experience for both pets and their owners. The mention of a convenient "parking lot" further emphasizes accessibility and ease of use, making it simpler and safer to transport pets into the clinic. A new building often implies state-of-the-art equipment, improved efficiency in layout, and a generally more pleasant aesthetic, all of which contribute to a comfortable and less stressful environment for animals needing care. Beyond the physical structure, the atmosphere within the clinic is consistently described as being filled with "kind," "understanding," and "amazingly capable" individuals. This positive human element creates a calming and reassuring environment, essential for anxious pets and concerned owners, especially during emergencies or difficult situations. The lack of long wait times, as noted by a client, also points to an efficient and well-managed environment.
Claysville Animal Care provides a broad spectrum of services crucial for comprehensive pet health, ranging from routine care to emergency interventions. While a complete, exhaustive list is not provided, the reviews strongly indicate the provision of:
- Emergency and Urgent Care: A critical service highlighted is their ability to "take us right in" during an unconscious, convulsing pet emergency, demonstrating their responsiveness and capacity to handle critical cases, even when other vets are unavailable. This suggests they are equipped to stabilize and assess acute conditions.
- Compassionate End-of-Life Care: The description of a pet receiving a "compassionate sendoff to the bridge that she deserved" indicates a strong emphasis on respectful and empathetic euthanasia services, which is a profoundly important aspect of veterinary care for many pet owners.
- Wellness Visits: The overall positive sentiment and description as a "wonderful veterinary clinic" imply that they also provide standard preventative and wellness care, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, deworming, and parasite control, which are foundational for long-term pet health.
- General Medical and Surgical Services: As a "Pet Hospital," they would typically offer diagnostics (blood work, imaging), general medical treatments for various illnesses, and surgical procedures (routine and potentially more complex).
- Client Education and Support: The staff's kindness and understanding suggest a commitment to educating pet owners and providing support through difficult decisions, such as those related to end-of-life care.

Feb 14, 2025 · Tom ClarkAbsolutely love this veterinary clinic! The entire team is incredibly kind, understanding, and amazingly capable of caring for your beloved pets. The new building is so nice and the parking lot makes it so much easier to get pets safely inside. I've never felt like I was waiting a long time to get called back. The prices are incredibly reasonable without giving up the quality of care. As long as they will continue to have my pets as patients I will continue to make the hour drive to this wonderful vet.
Dec 25, 2023 · BobbiUpdate: Dog ended up getting antibiotics that we truly had to push for and then she started acting like herself again the next day. After getting her sutures removed today and my husband being talked to and treated incredibly poorly and unprofessionally the office called to let us know that they'd be sending records and us and our dog are no longer welcome there because of our negative Google review. Don't take your pets here these people and their "quality of care" are laughable. Rather than actually provide quality care and instructions they prefer to take your money, give you zero information, and just go with it. What an absolute shame Dog had two surgical procedures nothing included about what to expect after surgery or reasons to be concerned. Was asked by a tech about optional fluids and lab testing and when asked if the vet recommended it was told "it's optional." No fees discussed prior to procedures but hit with a $540 bill after and now probably an emergency vet appt because she's having post op complications and there is no on call or anyone to talk to. They don't seem to care about your pet's wellness, but are more so in it for the money. Incredibly disappointing care.
Dec 27, 2024 · Ashley WoodI have been taking my dog here for nine years now. She loves going there. Everyone is very friendly. One con- doctors seem to change frequently, but I have always been satisfied with the service.
