Environment and Facilities:

Clarksburg Veterinary Hospital operates from a modern and well-maintained facility designed to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. The hospital features state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, indicating a commitment to leveraging technology for accurate and timely diagnoses. This typically includes an in-house laboratory for rapid analysis of blood work, urinalysis, and fecal tests, allowing for quick insights into a pet's health status. Their imaging capabilities often include digital radiography (X-ray), which is crucial for assessing bone structures, identifying foreign objects, and evaluating internal organs with clarity. Some modern facilities also incorporate ultrasound for more detailed soft tissue imaging. The hospital also contains well-equipped surgical suites that are maintained to sterile standards for performing a variety of procedures. Beyond the clinical aspects, the environment is generally structured to minimize stress for animals, potentially incorporating features like calming pheromones and gentle handling techniques, ensuring a more positive experience for pets during their visits. The commitment to a beautiful, modern animal hospital has been a long-standing goal for the team, aiming to provide a superior setting for pet care for generations to come.

Services Offered:

Clarksburg Veterinary Hospital offers a wide and comprehensive range of veterinary services, addressing the diverse health needs of small animals throughout their lives. Their service spectrum is designed to cover everything from routine preventative care to advanced diagnostics and complex medical interventions:

  • Wellness & Preventative Care: This is a foundational aspect of their practice. Services include annual wellness exams, tailored vaccination programs (adjusting protocols to best protect pets based on their lifestyle), and comprehensive parasite control for fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites, including heartworm testing and prevention. They also offer microchipping for permanent identification and senior pet care tailored to the specific needs of aging animals, along with weight management programs and health certificates.

  • Diagnostic Services: Beyond the in-house lab and digital radiology, they provide a range of diagnostic services to pinpoint health issues. This can include specialized tests for conditions like Von Willebrand's Disease, Renal Dysplasia, and Hip Dysplasia, as well as internal medicine consultations for conditions like diabetes and thyroid disease. They also utilize tools like ear scopes and offer echocardiography and EKG for cardiac assessments.

  • Pet Dentistry: Recognizing the critical importance of oral health, they offer advanced dental care, including professional cleanings (scaling and polishing), dental extractions, and potentially digital dental X-rays for thorough assessment of the teeth and gums.

  • Pet Surgery: The hospital performs a variety of surgical procedures, ranging from routine spays and neuters to various soft-tissue surgeries such as abdominal surgery and tumor removals. Anesthesia monitoring and pain management are integral to their surgical protocols to ensure the safety and comfort of their patients. They also offer blood transfusions when needed.

  • Laser Therapy: As a non-invasive, pain-free, drug-free, and surgery-free treatment, laser therapy is used to address a variety of conditions, including pain, inflammation, and to accelerate healing.

  • Behavioral Training & Counseling: They offer services related to pet behavior, including bark training and obedience training, and can provide pre/post adoption and breed counseling to help owners understand and manage their pet's behavior effectively from a young age.

  • Nutritional Management: Recognizing that diet plays a critical role in managing and preventing many diseases, they offer nutritional counseling and guidance through the complexities of pet food and supplements.

  • Emergency Care: While not explicitly 24/7, they are equipped to handle urgent care and emergencies during their operational hours, often making efforts to accommodate same-day emergency visits.

  • Alternative Therapy/Treatment Options: Some advanced or integrated practices may offer services like acupuncture and chiropractic care, along with oxygen and transfusion therapy and physical rehabilitation, providing a holistic approach to pet wellness.

  • Avian Specific Services: Uniquely, Clarksburg Veterinary Hospital (or its associated services) also caters to avian and exotic pets, offering specialized care for birds and other exotic animals, including beak trims, sexing, toenail trims, and wing clipping. This extends to general exams, lab testing, husbandry, and nutritional consultation for these less common pets.

  • Pet Loss Support: Demonstrating their compassionate approach, they also provide euthanasia services and grief counseling to support pet owners through difficult times.

Features and Unique Selling Points:

  • Commitment to Communication and Education: A key feature of Clarksburg Veterinary Hospital is their emphasis on communication. They prioritize taking the time to listen to pet owners, provide detailed explanations of conditions and treatments, and offer guidance on pet care. They schedule 30-minute appointments for wellness visits to allow ample time for questions and concerns, a rarity in today's busy world. They also provide follow-up calls and emails for complicated cases.

  • Customized Care: They believe that "vaccinations should not be the same for every pet" and customize preventative care and treatment options, balancing philosophy, science, personality, and even alternative options to meet each family's unique needs and budget.

  • Modern Medicine with Traditional Service: The hospital merges modern medicine and technology with traditional relationships and service, aiming to provide the best of both worlds. They strive to earn client trust by recommending what is needed and helping to manage overall costs.

  • Handling Anxious Pets: The staff takes specific measures to ensure pet comfort, including giving pets time to settle in, offering treats, using comfortable exam spots, handling animals gently, involving owners, and using calming pheromones in the clinic, indicating a Fear Free-like approach.

Very kind and caring facility. The staff are respectful to you and your pets needs. From their new pet discount package for my new kitten, through the life and final day of my service dog and partner for nearly 13 years I’ve been so happy with how my pets and I have been treated.
