We have 5 dogs and have visited a number of veterinary clinics. I can confidently say that this practice has a phenomenal team. From the techs to the drs, they prioritize the wellbeing of their patients. Several of our senior pups have experienced sudden changes in their health, some of which required hospitalization. The staff was wonderful, the drs answered every question, they were honest about what they felt was worth exploring and what wasn’t (so we didn’t spend money needlessly), and consulted with numerous specialists to ensure we had the most informative updates. We will continue to bring all of our pets here and are grateful to have found a practice that cares so much.

What a great experience. My dog daughter was unfortunately attacked at a dog park. Dr. Jones and staff were very empathetic and gave Abby lots of love while cleaning her wounds. We felt like family there. We appreciated the staff being there on a weekend to help. Thank you. 😊

CityVet Alamo Heights saved the life of a tiny stray kitten desperately in need of medical care on a busy weekday afternoon. When I found the little fluff in Confluence Park earlier that day, she was extremely frail and malnourished with flea-infested, matted fur. Dr. D’Intino said this little kitty had most likely been attacked by another animal since she had traumatic injuries to include a broken mandible, an abscess on her face between her eyes, and a sinus fracture. The staff at CityVet Alamo Heights went above and beyond to save this kitten’s life by calling around to local organizations to raise compassionate funds. One of the vets even chipped in for her surgery. I was able to cover the rest because CityVet pulled out all the stops to give this kitten a chance. The gave her antibiotics and fluids immediately, and the very next day one of the vets came in on her off day so they could do an incision and drainage on the abscess and place a wire in the kitten’s mandible to stabilize it. The wire should come out in about 6 weeks. Since I couldn’t give this tiny sweetheart a forever home myself (although I wish I could), I found a foster to take care of her during her recovery. Danielle and the rest of the CityVet staff have been phenomenal at keeping me updated on the kitty’s status and answering every last one of my litany of questions with the utmost professionalism, patience, and genuine kindness. They have taken such amazing care of this little kitty, and I’m incredibly grateful for their selfless acts of service. Major shout outs to Dr. D’Intino and Dr. Jones for being so empathetic and knowledgeable, Danielle and the rest of the front desk staff (apologies that I forgot many of your names!) for being so friendly and understanding, and everyone else who made calls behind the scenes to arrange for financial assistance, administered medical care directly to this kitty in the form of life-saving antibiotics and SQ fluids, groomed her and flea-treated her, performed X-rays, collected and ran lab samples, performed or assisted in her surgeries, and showed Freddy the love and affection she deserves. Very knowledgeable, and compassionate staff. Truly made me feel that they cared about the well being of my pet. Would definitely recommend.

City Vet Alamo Heights truly cares about your pets. The vets, vet techs, and staff are all very friendly and professional. My two dogs are very nervous and anxious but they actually like going there. They love Dr. Gilson! I also get them groomed there, and theyve never looked better! It’s great to drop them off in the morning for grooming and also get other things like shots needed taken care during the same visit.
