- Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: Mei's initial diagnosis of urinary crystals and subsequent issues with bladder stones demonstrate the hospital's involvement in diagnosing and treating pet illnesses. This includes ordering and interpreting tests such as fecal and urine tests.
- Medication Prescription: The prescription of Gabapentin for Mei's "anxiety" shows that the hospital provides pharmaceutical interventions as part of their treatment plans.

Promotional Information:
Based on the provided information, there is no explicit promotional content available. Customer Experiences - A Balanced Perspective:
It is crucial to consider both the positive and negative feedback to gain a balanced understanding of Christmas City Veterinary Hospital. While one reviewer praised the "best of care" and the "incredible support" received, another shared a deeply concerning experience regarding the management of their cat's urinary issues.
The negative review details a situation where a cat, Mei, was initially diagnosed with urinary crystals by an emergency vet who recommended a prescription diet. The reviewer states that this information was allegedly forwarded to Christmas City Veterinary Hospital, where Mei became a regular patient for over a year. During this time, her recurring symptoms were attributed to "anxiety" and treated with Gabapentin. The owner claims that their inquiries about a prescription diet were dismissed. Eventually, Mei's condition worsened, and after the owner insisted on urine testing, a large bladder stone was discovered, requiring surgery. Tragically, Mei passed away due to complications.
This detailed account raises serious concerns about communication within the hospital, the thoroughness of diagnosis, and the adherence to recommendations from other veterinary professionals. The reviewer also expressed disappointment in the lack of follow-up or direct communication from Dr. Cawley or the office manager after Mei's surgery and subsequent passing.
Conclusion:
Christmas City Veterinary Hospital is a Pet Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, that has received both positive and negative feedback from its clients. On one hand, they are praised for their caring, compassionate, responsive, and efficient staff, particularly in providing general and senior pet care, as well as support during end-of-life situations. This suggests a dedicated team committed to the well-being of animals and their owners.
However, the detailed negative review highlights significant concerns regarding communication, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up care in at least one instance. This account suggests that while many pet owners may have positive experiences, there have also been serious lapses in care that have had devastating consequences.
As a local user considering Christmas City Veterinary Hospital for your pet's care, it is recommended to weigh all available information carefully. While the positive testimonials speak to the potential for excellent care, the negative experience serves as a reminder of the importance of clear communication, proactive involvement in your pet's health, and seeking clarification on any concerns you may have. It may also be beneficial to inquire directly about their protocols for communication with emergency veterinary services and their approach to managing chronic conditions.
Ultimately, choosing a veterinary hospital is a significant decision. We encourage you to consider your pet's specific needs, ask detailed questions, and potentially seek a second opinion if you have any reservations based on the available information. Christmas City Veterinary Hospital, like any service provider, has areas of strength and areas where past experiences suggest potential challenges. A thorough evaluation will help you determine if they are the right fit for your beloved animal companion.

Jan 20, 2025 · Michele SchultzIt took me a long time to write this review because I loved Dr Cawley and all the staff, so it was heartbreaking for me to have something bad happen with the office. My cat Mei started there as a patient after an emergency room visit where she was found to have crystals in her urine and urinary pain. It wasn't until over a year later when she died that I learned the emergency vet had told Dr. Cawley's office Mei needed a prescription diet, and forwarded all her ER records showing this. Mei was a frequent flyer at Christmas City and she was always assumed to have "anxiety" and prescribed Gabapentin. I'd asked at one point if she needed a prescription food and was told no and that this was just a stress response. When she started getting very sick, it was me, not the office, who insisted on both a fecal and urine testing. I brought in the urine and insisted it be tested. I was then told to go back to the ER if I wanted imaging, where she was found to have a 16mm stone in her bladder. She had to have surgery and the stone turned out to be a urate stone which is a more rare type. Mei passed away shortly after due to ongoing complications during her recovery. She'd be alive today had she been put on the correct food at the very beginning. She was barely 5 years old. I called the office and was in tears when I was told Mei needed surgery and that the office was given all the information they needed to prevent this and that I wouldn't be back. I sort of got an "Ok, sorry to hear that" but never one phone call from Dr Cawley or the office manager to discuss what happened. Not ONE follow up call or email to see how Mei was, which was heartbreaking because I really thought we had a good relationship.
Nov 14, 2024 · Morgen SBest Vet ever! I've had dogs all my life and Dr Cawley and her staff are by far the kindest and most competent, caring staff I've been to. So grateful I found them for my fur baby!! My dog LOVES her and loves going to the "doctor"!! I'd recommend her to anyone, she is definitely worth the wait!!!
Sep 03, 2024 · Lilly MillerWhat a good experience. Our dog has an ear infection. They came outside and explained everything in detail after his examination. They really care about animals. The fee's seem reasonable as well.
Nov 21, 2021 · Hurry HarryThey took care of all three of our dogs at once in the same room. As comfortable a situation anyone could hope for.
