Welcome to Chino Valley Equine Hospital: Fischer Jr Andrew DVM
Chino Valley Equine Hospital: Fischer Jr Andrew DVM is a distinguished "Pet Hospital" situated at 2945 English Pl, Chino Hills, CA 91709, USA. Operating under the umbrella of Chino Valley Equine Hospital, this facility is specifically dedicated to the comprehensive veterinary care of horses. With contact numbers (909) 628-5545 and +1 909-628-5545, it represents a specialized center for equine health in the region, featuring the expertise of Dr. Andrew D. Fischer Jr., a board-certified veterinary surgeon with decades of experience.
As part of the larger Chino Valley Equine Hospital, the facility at 2945 English Pl provides a state-of-the-art environment designed to meet the unique and often complex needs of equine patients. The hospital is known for its extensive infrastructure, which includes multiple operating rooms, recovery stalls, and advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities. These include digital radiography, ultrasonography, and an MRI suite, crucial for pinpointing subtle lameness issues or internal conditions in horses. The facility also features a standing surgery area for specific procedures, a full in-house laboratory for rapid diagnostics, and specialized stabling areas. These include an intensive care unit (ICU) for critically ill horses, a main barn for elective cases, and an isolation facility to manage infectious conditions, underscoring its capacity for both routine and emergency care. The hospital's design ensures a safe and controlled environment for horses, from admission through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The advanced nature of the facility supports the sophisticated medical and surgical services provided, ensuring that horses receive care with cutting-edge technology.
Chino Valley Equine Hospital offers a wide array of veterinary services specifically tailored for horses. Dr. Andrew D. Fischer Jr., as a board-certified veterinary surgeon and an ACVS Founding Fellow in Minimally Invasive Surgery (Large Animal Soft Tissue), plays a pivotal role in the surgical and advanced diagnostic capabilities of the hospital. His specialization includes surgical endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and procedures related to equine performance issues, such as arthroscopy and upper airway surgery. This expertise allows the hospital to perform complex orthopedic surgeries, soft tissue procedures, and address gastrointestinal issues with advanced techniques.
Beyond surgery, the services encompass comprehensive general medicine, lameness evaluations, and critical care. As evidenced by a client's experience with a 2-day-old filly, the hospital performs thorough diagnostic workups, including X-rays and sonograms, to identify the root cause of conditions like swollen joints. They are equipped to administer treatments such as plasma IVs, antibiotics like penicillin, and other necessary medications. The hospital's continuous operation, with a doctor on-site 24/7, allows for immediate attention to emergencies and continuous monitoring for hospitalized patients. Their capabilities extend to managing cases from neonatal care for foals to complex conditions in adult horses, ensuring a broad spectrum of medical and surgical interventions.
A significant feature of Chino Valley Equine Hospital, particularly with the involvement of Dr. Andrew Fischer Jr., is the consistent feedback of receiving "good service and state of the art care." A long-standing referring veterinarian, Dr. Jimmy, praises the hospital for being "up to date with what’s happening in Vet medicine," highlighting their commitment to contemporary veterinary practices and continuous advancement. This suggests a facility that invests in ongoing education and the latest technologies to provide optimal outcomes for its equine patients. The professionalism and dedication of the veterinary team are also implicitly praised through such long-term professional relationships.
However, client experiences also reveal a notable point of concern regarding the cost of services. While the quality of care, especially for critical cases like a weak filly, is acknowledged through successful treatment outcomes (the filly recovering after treatment), the associated expenses can be substantial. One client found the bill for a 48-hour stay, including plasma, X-rays, sonogram, penicillin, and bandages, to be "outrageous" at over $5,000. This disparity between the perceived necessity of care and the financial implications is a significant factor for some clients. While high-level equine veterinary care, particularly for specialized treatments and critical cases, often involves significant costs due to the complexity of the animals, equipment, and expertise required, this feedback indicates that the pricing model might be a barrier for some pet owners, leading to a feeling of being "filthy rich" to afford it. This highlights a need for transparent communication regarding potential costs upfront, especially for extensive diagnostic and treatment plans.
Chino Valley Equine Hospital, and by extension Dr. Andrew D. Fischer Jr. DVM, implicitly promotes itself through its reputation for advanced, state-of-the-art equine veterinary care. The long-standing relationships with referring veterinarians and the successful treatment of challenging cases serve as powerful endorsements. The specialized nature of the hospital, equipped with high-end diagnostic tools like MRI and offering complex surgical procedures, positions it as a premier referral center for equine health in the region. This advanced capability naturally attracts clients seeking the highest level of care for their horses.
While direct promotional offers are not detailed in the provided information, the value proposition lies in the sophisticated medical interventions and the expertise of its board-certified surgeons like Dr. Fischer. However, for potential clients, understanding the financial commitment involved is crucial. The hospital appears to cater to those who prioritize comprehensive, advanced medical solutions for their horses, even if it comes with a significant price tag. For horse owners in Chino Hills and surrounding areas, Chino Valley Equine Hospital stands out as a highly capable and technologically advanced facility, offering specialized care that is at the forefront of veterinary medicine for equines, with the understanding that such specialized care reflects in its cost structure.

Feb 03, 2024 · james giacopuzziTook a 2 day old filly in for some plasma IV as she was a little weak. And she had a swollen front knee and we didn’t know why. After X-rays and sonograms, they drained it and treated her with penicillin. She didn’t get the plasma until the next day. I picked her up within 48 hours because I knew the bill would be outrageous if I left her there any longer. To my surprise they charged me $5,029 LOL 2 bags of Plasma X-rays Sonogram Penicillin And bandages Long story short, the filly needed the plasma and chloramphenicol paste. Which I can treat at home! NEVER GOING BACK and you should either unless you’re filthy rich.
