Chewy for normal items is amazing. That being said, avoid the pharmacy at all costs. You have to mail (1990’s style) the prescription in. If they use a generic version of the medicine they will send it back to you for you to have the vet update with that name. Process takes WAY too long and is too much of a headache. Then they call 20 times to remind you to mail it. I had someone tell me exactly what they wanted on the prescription. I just got a call that that they have to send it back to me because they need the generic name on the prescription. He only has 4 pills left and now we have to go back through this process again. We had the same issue with his prescription food. Just skip.

Welcome to Chewy Pharmacy

Welcome to the introduction of Chewy Pharmacy, an online platform operating within the Pet Hospital category. Chewy Pharmacy aims to provide pet owners with a convenient way to access their animal companions' necessary medications and healthcare supplies. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, at 2815 Watterson Trail, Chewy Pharmacy operates primarily as an online service, allowing pet owners to order prescriptions and other pet-related items for delivery.

As an online pet pharmacy, Chewy Pharmacy offers a wide range of prescription medications for various animal species, including dogs, cats, and other common household pets. They also stock a selection of over-the-counter pet healthcare products, such as flea and tick preventatives, vitamins, supplements, and dental care items. The platform intends to streamline the process of obtaining pet medications by offering an online ordering system and direct delivery to the customer's doorstep.

One of the key features of Chewy Pharmacy is its reliance on traditional prescription verification methods. Customers are required to mail in the original prescription issued by their veterinarian. Once received, Chewy Pharmacy contacts the veterinarian to verify the prescription before dispensing the medication. This process is designed to ensure the safety and accuracy of the medication dispensed to your pet.

Chewy Pharmacy offers a broad selection of medications, potentially including both brand-name and generic options. The availability of specific medications may vary. Customers can typically search for medications on their website and view pricing information before placing an order. The platform also provides customer service support via phone at (800) 672-4399 or +1 800-672-4399 for inquiries regarding orders, prescriptions, and other related matters.

While Chewy is widely recognized for its general pet supply services, customer reviews regarding the pharmacy aspect highlight some important considerations for potential users. Several customers have expressed concerns about the prescription fulfillment process. One recurring issue is the requirement to mail in the original prescription, which some customers find inconvenient and time-consuming in today's digital age. This mail-in process can potentially lead to delays in receiving crucial medications, especially if there are any complications or clarifications needed.

Another point of feedback revolves around the handling of generic medications. According to customer experiences, if a generic version of the prescribed medication is available, Chewy Pharmacy might send the original prescription back to the customer, requiring the veterinarian to update it with the specific generic name. This additional step can further prolong the process and create frustration, particularly when a pet is running low on their medication.

Communication regarding the prescription process has also been a point of concern for some users. Reports suggest instances of repeated calls reminding customers to mail in prescriptions, which some found excessive. Additionally, there have been instances where customers experienced a lack of proactive communication regarding delays or issues with their orders, leading to uncertainty about the status of their pet's medication.

Furthermore, some reviews indicate challenges with medication availability. Customers have reported instances where commonly used medications, such as Simparica Trio, were frequently out of stock. This lack of consistent availability can be problematic for pets requiring regular medication refills, potentially necessitating alternative arrangements and added inconvenience for pet owners.

In terms of pricing, some customers have stated that while Chewy's prices for general pet supplies might be competitive, the pharmacy's pricing may not always outweigh the potential hassle and delays associated with their prescription fulfillment process. These customers suggest that the time and effort involved in mailing prescriptions and dealing with potential complications might not be worth any perceived cost savings.

Based on the available information and customer feedback, while Chewy Pharmacy aims to provide a convenient online solution for pet medications, potential users should be aware of the reported challenges related to the prescription process. The requirement for mailing in prescriptions, potential issues with generic substitutions, communication inconsistencies, and occasional stock availability problems are factors to consider when deciding whether to utilize Chewy Pharmacy for your pet's medication needs.

For local users in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, it's important to note that Chewy Pharmacy, as described, is based in the United States and primarily serves the US market. Ordering prescription medications from an international online pharmacy may involve additional complexities related to import regulations, shipping times, and the validity of prescriptions issued by veterinarians in India. It is advisable for pet owners in Bengaluru to primarily consider local, licensed veterinary pharmacies and hospitals for their pet medication needs to ensure compliance with local regulations and timely access to necessary treatments. Consulting with your local veterinarian about the best options for obtaining your pet's medications is always recommended.

In conclusion, Chewy Pharmacy operates as an online Pet Hospital platform, offering a range of prescription and over-the-counter pet medications. While it aims to provide convenience, customer reviews highlight potential drawbacks related to its mail-in prescription process, handling of generic medications, communication, and medication availability. Local users in Bengaluru should be mindful of the geographical limitations and regulatory considerations when considering international online pharmacies and are encouraged to prioritize local veterinary care providers for their pet health needs.

Do yourself a favor and don't use the pharmacy at Chewy. The pricing is not worth the headache. Over a week ago I ordered a refill on a prescription and heard nothing back from anyone. Yesterday I called and they said they had received nothing back from my Vet and that my Vet was a "no call". I called my Vet and they said they had received nothing from Chewy and they speak to them regularly on the phone. Chewy then cancelled my order. My dog is about to run out of his medicine. The least they could do was notify me. I oddly received an email AFTER I called yesterday. Also they are constantly out of different medicines that are used regularly like Simperica Trio. It's not worth it, go to your vet or somewhere else.

Even before COVID, I’ve had problems with Chewy losing the prescriptions multiple times. Most recently my vet faxed the prescription four times and Chewy could not find any of them any of the times I’ve called. A representative admitted they’re losing faxes. They were supposed to call my vet for verbal approval and then call me back immediately, but they never did. At this point it’s been three weeks since I initially placed the order and my vet first sent the prescription and nothing has been found. They shouldn’t be accepting this many orders if they can’t handle the volume as they’re literally putting dogs lives at stake. Now I have less time to find a way to get my dogs seizure medicine.

I wish I could give Chewy 10 Stars! In October I switched to Chewy Pharmacy for my online pharmacy for my doberman’s monthly medication. Not only was the medication less expensive they gave me a introductory savings off my first purchase that was cost saving so I purchased 2 months supply. Sadly, my beloved Doberman was diagnosed with cancer in early December and passed very quickly. When the auto ship for her next box came up I called chewy and the customer service person was unbelievably nice and caring. She credited me the unused box of medication I already had even though I could of course not send it back. A few days later some beautiful flowers arrived at my home and they were from Chewy! A kind sympathy note was included and I just couldn’t believe it. I was so touched! Chewy has a forever customer!

Customer service is the best. They are always looking for ways to help & even give free shipping with auto shipments. Check them out! On Rx u won't be disappointed!
