I have taken my cats to Charlottesville Cat Care Clinic for 25 years now, and they are amazing, the best I've ever worked with, and as I lived in three other states before moving here, had dealt with a number of vets before. We have been through a wide spectrum of issues with our cats, and they have met each one with great skill and empathy. One of our cats was extremely difficult to handle, and they always met the risky challenges of working with him with patience and good humor, and loved him anyway. Another was painfully shy, and they were incredibly gentle with her, and when severe health issues led to making a difficult end of life decision for her, they were wonderful helping me and her through the process. We recently had to do the same for another after a quickly escalating terminal health issue, and their knowledge, compassion, and patience, (including the willingness to spend lots of time talking to us after hours to sort through both medical issues, answer many questions, and discuss treatments that could be carried out at the very advanced clinic in town who has an actual oncologist on staff, etc, as well as their honestly about making the right choices for our boy, even painful ones). They were nothing short of amazing during the 3 weeks between diagnosis and losing him. They have always been extremely responsive to all of my concerns and questions, and take a lot of time both in person and by phone to talk things over. Dr. Mahanes, Stacy, Shawn, the other vet techs, and the rest of the front and back of house staff obviously love cats, care deeply about their clients, and are dedicated to providing the best care in the most supportive, kind, and friendly environment that I have ever run across in a veterinary clinic. I couldn’t recommend them more!

May 08, 2025 · Raven Hill JewelryI have had the most amazing experience with Cat Care of Charlottesville. The staff and doctors are attentive, professional, and have bed side manners that makes you feel valued. The clinic does a wonderful job in educating pet parents on their pet's health. I feel so lucky to have a down-earth and caring Veterinarian.
Jan 09, 2025 · reesheda jonesI love Charlottesville Cat Care! Our cat Tia was a patient for 18 years. They have a loving & caring team that were always so helpful. It's very convenient that they only treat cats, because there were never any loud dogs barking to stress out my cat during her appointments. The staff at Charlottesville Cat Care were amazing! I would highly recommend them to anyone!
Feb 01, 2019 · Becky RiggleThis is one of the most amazing vet clinics. I started taking my cat to this vet in 2018 when he was a kitten and continued to see them even after we moved out of Charlottesville. I eventually moved too far away for them to remain our primary veterinarians; however, whenever we came to town to visit family, they would still see my kitty if he was experiencing a medical situation. My cat had quite a few medical issues, but they always took such amazing care of both him and me. I'll never forget their kindness, attention to detail, compassion, and passion for taking care of my sweet boy. My cat sadly passed away three months ago and when I called them to notify them, they treated me with such kindness and even sent a card. I can't recommend this clinic enough for cat owners! Truly an amazing place with very qualified and passionate staff.
Jun 16, 2023 · Mical TawneyCharlottesville Cat Care Clinic has been taking care of my furballs for years. I have had the pleasure of interacting with everyone who works here and all of them have been phenomenal. I truly feel they love my boys as much as I do, and that they are the best place for treatment at all stages of my cats’ lives. I have always felt respected and really (really) appreciate the consideration they have for costs. I always feel that I am getting a good deal and trust their recommendations implicitly. They saved one of my boy’s lives when I thought he wouldn’t pull through (Sputnik) and helped another cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and with dignity when it was his time to say goodbye (Herbie). Those are the moments that are the hardest and their kindness and quality of care shone through. I sincerely wish they also treated humans, I’d sign myself up for an appointment in a heartbeat!
