I appreciate and understand the importance of this business and this service, and I know they are probably overworked, overwhelmed and underpaid. That being said, my experience with the clinic was overall not great. I have a little bit of grace because I know it’s a public service but there were multiple things that I did not like with the CLINIC, the shelter is amazing and they are doing their absolute best. First, I was very anxious to take my dog back for his neuter, I was afraid he would be scared and confused as to why I was bringing him back and was hoping that a friendly initial encounter would help me feel better. Well, we had a puppy incident yesterday where my dog somehow got past TWO barriers and overate like a pound and a half cat food in addition to an incident where we had to go to the emergency Vet last week, we are still trying to learn this dog and his triggers and limits. I shared this upon intake to make sure that it wouldn’t effect my boy during surgery hoping that the receptionist would at least make a note of it and they could be aware he may have GI upset and be ready for it if it were to happen. Not only did she not make note of it, but she made condescending remarks about my training and choices when both incidents were simply accidents that happen with a young dog and new pet parents. I left feeling like a terrible pet owner despite me doing the best that I can. Fast forward, my pup had a big bout of diarrhea, they must have left him in the crate with it for an extended period of time because he came back to me covered in caked on, dried, stinking, poop, and I can’t bathe home properly for 10 days. Not to mention that while she wasn’t outwardly mean, the receptionist at discharge was not really pleasant. I’d give her like a 2/5 for bedside manner. When I finally got home I looked at my dog’s prescription for Doxycycline and the prescription portion on the bottle and the one on the discharge forms DID NOT MATCH. They put the wrong prescription amount on the bottle. Which is SUPER NOT OKAY. I feel bad writing a bad review but I feel like my visit had enough bad aspects to it that I had to make one.

6 years ago this a good boy came from here. (Best dog ever) We visited today. It’s still a wonderful caring place full of dogs needing homes. Time to add to the family. Thank you for all you do. Please consider rescue! It’s so great! Thank CMAS for all you do. 🙏🏽💖 Highly recommend!

I went in and found a dog everything was going fine until I met the woman who goes over the application with you. She would not let me adopt a male dog because my male dog was not neutered. Last time I checked two male dogs can’t have babies. She said to come back when my dog was neutered and then adopt the dog. I knew he would be adopted by then. I did get my dog fixed a few weeks later, like I told her, the dog i wanted was already adopted. You try and give a shelter dog a loving family and they give you a hard time. I have been filling out applications for two months now and have never been called to adopt not one dog!! I will pay more for a hybrid dog from a breeder but at least I won’t be denied .

I decided to adopt a foster and they made it so easy for me. I will continue to recommend the Char-Meck ACC to anyone looking to find a pet.
