I’m not sure what other people felt but I thought the receptionist were OK but to me the place is so old and rundown and not clean and I didn’t like the way the doctor handled my dog she sit on the dirty floor and wrestle with it instead of like the good old days when an assistant would put the animal on a clean table and help you with it which I offered to do but she just didn’t want to do that, so no I’m not going back.

Operating under the platform category of a Pet Hospital, Central Animal Clinic offers a wide array of services and goods specifically designed to maintain and improve animal health. This includes, but is not limited to, preventive care, diagnostic procedures, medical treatments, and surgical interventions. The clinic's core mission revolves around ensuring the health and safety of pets, recognizing the unconditional love they provide to their owners.

The environment of Central Animal Clinic, as perceived by clients, elicits mixed feedback. One reviewer described the facility as "old and rundown and not clean," which suggests a need for potential updates or more rigorous maintenance. This perspective highlights the importance of a clean and modern environment for client comfort and confidence in a healthcare setting. However, another client offered a contrasting view, emphasizing the "warm vibes" and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. A typical pet hospital environment generally includes a reception area for check-ins, examination rooms for consultations, and potentially specialized areas for diagnostics, surgery, or recovery. While the physical aesthetics may vary, the overall goal is to provide a functional, safe, and as comfortable as possible space for both pets and their owners. The contrast in reviews suggests that while the physical premises might benefit from upgrades, the positive interactions with the staff often create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for many.

Central Animal Clinic provides a comprehensive range of veterinary services. These typically encompass routine wellness care, including thorough examinations and vaccinations crucial for preventing common diseases and maintaining overall health. The clinic offers in-house diagnostics, such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and likely other laboratory tests, to facilitate quick and accurate diagnoses. Digital radiology (X-rays) and ultrasounds are also available for more advanced imaging needs. Dental care is a significant offering, including regular cleanings and oral surgery like tooth extractions, which are vital for a pet's long-term health. Surgical services extend beyond routine procedures like spaying and neutering to include soft tissue surgery and potentially orthopedic surgery. Emergency vet care is a key service, with the clinic offering same-day appointments for urgent situations, and personnel trained to handle various pet emergencies during clinic hours. They also manage critical conditions, such as accidental poison ingestion or injuries. The clinic is equipped to handle a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, pocket pets, reptiles, birds, and even small farm animals, though some specialized care for certain species may depend on the availability of specific veterinarians. Additionally, Central Animal Clinic offers microchipping for identification, parasite prevention, and end-of-life care, including euthanasia, provided with compassion. They also conduct allergy testing and heartworm testing, which are essential for managing specific health concerns.

One of the prominent features of Central Animal Clinic, according to positive customer reviews, is the exceptional care and compassionate approach provided by Dr. Hanser and the staff. Reviewers consistently praise Dr. Hanser for her professional care, noting that she takes ample time with pets and their owners, fostering a loving and caring environment. The "smiles and warm vibes" from the staff at the front desk contribute significantly to a positive client experience, making visits more pleasant for both pets and their human companions. This personalized attention and emphasis on building relationships with clients and their pets are highly valued and contribute to a strong sense of trust and loyalty. The clinic's commitment to explaining procedures and involving owners in the care process, as suggested by the positive feedback, indicates a patient-centered approach. However, one customer review raised concerns about the doctor's handling of their dog, specifically mentioning wrestling on the floor instead of using a clean table with assistance, which led to dissatisfaction with the handling of their pet and their overall experience. This highlights that while many appreciate the hands-on and personal approach, expectations for clinical procedures and cleanliness can vary, and it is important for the clinic to maintain consistent standards of care and hygiene.

In terms of promotional information, Central Animal Clinic actively offers special discounts to local area rescue groups, demonstrating a commitment to animal welfare beyond their regular client base. Pre-approval is required for rescue group discounts, which can significantly aid organizations in caring for animals in need. While specific, ongoing general promotions beyond this are not detailed, veterinary clinics often run seasonal specials. For instance, their website indicates an April/May special offering a 20% discount on dental services until May 15th. Such promotions are common in the veterinary industry, aiming to encourage preventative care and make essential services more accessible. Other typical promotions might include discounted first exams for new clients, puppy or kitten wellness packages that bundle initial vaccinations and check-ups, or special offers on specific preventative medications like flea and tick control. The clinic's online presence, which encourages reviews on platforms like Google, Facebook, and Yelp, also serves as a form of promotion, leveraging positive client experiences to attract new business. By being transparent about their services and encouraging feedback, Central Animal Clinic aims to build a strong reputation within the Camarillo community.

In summary, Central Animal Clinic in Camarillo, CA, is a comprehensive pet hospital dedicated to providing a wide range of veterinary services. While some feedback points to potential areas for improvement in facility upkeep, the clinic is highly praised for the compassionate and professional care provided by its veterinarians and staff, particularly Dr. Hanser. Their extensive services cover everything from emergency care and routine check-ups to advanced diagnostics and surgery, catering to a diverse array of pet species. The clinic's engagement with local rescue groups and occasional special offers like dental discounts highlight its commitment to accessible and quality pet care. This is Sacha Patootie. Dr Hanser and the Ladies at Central Ave Animal treat her with such loving care. They welcome us every time with smiles and warm vibes. The professional care Dr Hanser gives is in my humble opinion second to none. Always takes time with us and a little extra for Sachalovin.

I've been taking my pets to Dr. Hanser for years. Always a good experience! I recently had to put another one of my elderly dogs to sleep and as always she was so compassionate and understanding. She really let me take my time and said I could stay as long as I needed. The staff she has working for her are wonderful too. Everyone is so caring. I will continue to take my fur babies to Dr. Hanser for years to come.💜

Dr. Hanser shows compassion to all my pets and is never rushing me or pushing unwarranted and costly procedures. Every appointment lasts a good hour. She's very thorough and wonderfully gentle with them. She also offers options tailored to your financial situation. The staff is warm and caring as well. The best, the very best in these regions!

We were faced with the difficult decision of putting our cat down but the staff here and Dr Hanser herself listened patiently to us and helped us make the best decision for our pet. Dr Hanser was kind and patient and loved on our kitty and let us know exactly what to expect and helped us feel calm with our decision. I've been to multiple vets in my life and this office was the most humble and professional in my opinion.
