Cat Clinic of Greensboro

The Cat Clinic provided a perfect, calm, caring environment for my 15 year old cat…she needed a vaccination and some grooming. Picked her up and she was calm and didn’t utter a peep on the way home. Reentered her space at home as if nothing had happened to her… I have got to believe that it was the people and great service at the Cat Clinic that left her so calm. And she was brushed out and looking beautiful!

The employees are caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Elder is excellent and explanations are clear. After talking with her, we felt confident about caring for our cat.

So much goodness in one spot! The cats, the coffee, the staff, and the mission are all amazing. A must if you're living or visiting in greensboro. We even adopted our fur baby from here!

This is the best vet clinic I have ever been too and I think them specializing in cats allows them to give superb care to our feline friends and I wish more vets would do this. They are extremely responsive and calmly explained any questions I had (which was a lot) and they stayed within my budget as a college student. I would recommend this vet to anyone with a new cat and to make this your primary vet office for sure! I won’t take my cats anywhere else love these guys!!!

tl;dr: Dr. Elder, Terry, Khar, Madi, Dashawna, Rebecca, and Sincere are amazing, caring, life-saving humans. My three cats owe them their combined 27 lives, and I owe them my sanity. Since December 2017, I’ve brought Poppy, Tucker, and Mabel to the Cat Clinic of Greensboro 111 times. I always knew something wasn’t right with Poppy and Mabel. They were constantly battling bouts of vomiting, and Poppy had diarrhea for almost a year. Before Dr. Elder, their symptoms were treated with various medicines and diet changes; theories of IBDs and food allergies were posited, but not much was done to investigate the root cause of their symptoms. In February 2024, my cats had their first wellness visit with Dr. Elder. Dr. Elder noticed an abnormality in Poppy’s calcium level, which prompted a quick investigation into Poppy’s previous bloodwork, which revealed a pattern of increased calcium levels. Very long story short, due to Dr. Elder’s vigilance and critical thinking skills, both Poppy and Mabel were diagnosed with idiopathic hypercalcemia. Together, Dr. Elder and I read the research on idiopathic hypercalcemia treatments, and we decided to treat their hypercalcemia through a fiber response food, which is thankfully working. Hypercalcemia can cause severe damage to a cat’s organs. Unfortunately, Mabel’s hypercalcemia started attacking her kidneys before it was caught, and she has second stage kidney disease. By taking the time to listen to me, talk with me, and to analyze my cats’ symptoms and bloodwork, Dr. Elder has given me answers that I’ve been searching and waiting for, for seven years. She has quite literally saved Mabel and Poppy’s lives, especially Mabel’s. I genuinely cannot bear to think of where my cats and I would be without her. I will never be able to properly express my gratitude. Dr. Elder goes above and beyond to help her feline patients and their people. During appointments, she takes her time with me, and she never makes me feel rushed or crazy. She also takes diligent notes. (Before Dr. Elder, I never once had a vet at the Cat Clinic take notes during an appointment.) Dr. Elder has called me with test results long after business hours, and she has spent many hours on the phone with me discussing test results and treatment options. But my cats and I are not special. I know she does this for all her patients and their people. While waiting for my appointments to begin, I’ve heard Dr. Elder speak to others with the same care and attention she uses with me. Once, while wrapping up a phone call at 10:00 at night, she said she had more people to call and give test results to. While Dr. Elder seems superhuman, she isn’t. She cannot do the things she has done for me and my cats, let alone everyone else at the Cat Clinic, without making great sacrifices. To do so would defy logic. But she somehow manages to give everyone the same care and attention anyway. There is no one kinder, more intelligent, or more empathetic than Dr. Elder. Terry, Khar, Madi, Dashawna, Rebecca, and Sincere have also shown me and my cats so much patience and kindness. I also don’t know what I would do or where I would be without them. Everyone at the Cat Clinic of Greensboro is giving more than they have, so treat them well. I am also endlessly grateful to be able to take my cats to a cat-specific veterinarian. We’ve been to many emergency vets and specialists where dogs have been present, and my cats always have a harder time bouncing back from the stress of those visits than they do when returning home from the Cat Clinic. Cat-specific animal hospitals not only make veterinary medicine more accessible to cats, but also to cat owners, like me, who aren’t a fan of dogs. And one more time for the people in the back: Everyone at the Cat Clinic of Greensboro is giving more than they have, so treat them well.
