Environment and Atmosphere

The atmosphere at Caring Hands Animal Hospital is evidently one built on genuine empathy and a deep understanding of the human-animal bond. Clients consistently describe the staff, including both technicians and veterinarians, as "truly so amazing," and specifically mention their "compassion and empathy." This suggests an environment where pet owners feel understood and supported, especially during times of concern or stress regarding their animal's health. A compassionate atmosphere is critical in a veterinary setting, as it helps to alleviate anxiety for both pets and their human companions, fostering a more positive and productive experience.

The dedication to making clients feel genuinely appreciated, as noted by a reviewer who extended thanks for taking "such great care of all of my dogs," further underscores the nurturing environment. The focus on personalized attention and a caring approach contributes significantly to the overall positive experience. Furthermore, the presence of specialized services like acupuncture, where a cat made "great progress with regular visits," indicates a calm and patient environment suitable for such nuanced treatments, ensuring pets feel comfortable and receptive to care.

As a leading facility in the "Pet Hospital" category, Caring Hands Animal Hospital provides a comprehensive suite of veterinary services designed to address the diverse healthcare needs of a variety of animals, particularly dogs and cats, as suggested by the reviews. While a complete list is best obtained directly from the hospital, the testimonials highlight several key areas of expertise:

  • General Wellness and Preventive Care: The overall "superb quality of care" implies a strong foundation in routine wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling necessary for maintaining long-term pet health. This forms the backbone of their practice.

  • Diagnostic and Treatment Services: High-quality care for "all of my dogs" suggests robust capabilities in diagnosing and treating various illnesses and conditions. This would typically include in-house laboratory testing, digital radiography, and comprehensive medical management.

  • Specialized Acupuncture Services: A standout feature is the provision of veterinary acupuncture by Dr. Kristen Edwards. Acupuncture is often utilized for pain management, arthritis, neurological conditions, and chronic issues, offering an alternative or complementary therapy option for patients who may not fully respond to conventional treatments.

  • Ongoing Care for Chronic Conditions: The success of a "10-year-old cat" making "great progress with regular visits" for acupuncture demonstrates their commitment to managing chronic conditions effectively and improving the quality of life for long-term patients.

Dr. Kristen Edwards does acupuncture here every 2 weeks. She is amazing and loves working with cats. Our 10 year old cat has made great progress with regular visits. Making appointments with her is super easy.

Please stay away from this place. Multiple internal sources reported fact that Dr. Artman intentionally mandates to spend no more than 5 minutes per patient which equals higher patient volume and higher revenue, but lower animal care and wellness. What sort of veterinarian even thinks of such a scheme? Shame on her and her poor ethics. She has numerous misdiagnosis for pets which resulted in morbidities. She is unprofessional, rude and with a poor bedside demeanor and is the epitome of poor provider to animals. Luckily, the practice has Dr. Kenneth Berg, a renowned, kind and respected veterinarian in the area. He’s a wealth of experience with amazing bedside manner, and has a wonderful character making him a superb provider. Unfortunately, there are never any appointments with Dr. Berg due to the popular demand. Unshockingly, Artman’s appointments are wide open due to her poor care and business ethics. Simply, not many people want Artman to touch their pet(s). Front desk personnel are unfriendly and need significant training in customer service skills. Office manager Jesse is likely the cause of this establishment failing or soon to fail. She has poor management skills with employees as well as the poorest of communication skills, to include conflict, community relations, etc. Thankfully many employees at Geisinger Medical Center, which is a large client base for Caring Hands already know to stay away from there. It has been on my mind to create a comprehensive 24 hour Veterinary Hospital in the Danville, PA area sometime in 2025-26. A few colleagues have already approached me to invest as well. It would be wonderful to snag Dr. Ken Berg and let he and his daughter run this practice.
