We had been a client of Dr. Belisle for several years prior to the Covid pandemic, bringing our two cats yearly for their check-ups. However, after not having seen Dr. Belisle for a few years during lockdown, she had completely changed when we brought our cat in last summer. She was unfriendly, rude, and unprofessional. Almost immediately into the check-up, she called my cat "feral" and too difficult to deal with. Keep in mind, at this point, my cat had NOT hissed, attempted to scratch her, or anything of that nature. Additionally, my cat is NOT feral or violent. He is a 6 year old domesticated Bengal who has never attacked any person. Pre-Covid, Dr. Belisle had seen this cat in multiple yearly check-ups and never said anything so insulting. Throughout the check-up, she was overly rude and unprofessional, calling my cat feral MULTIPLE times and at the end of the appointment, she had the nerve to say I should never bring him back here. I want to say for the record, my cat NEVER attacked the doctor, hissed, or did anything out of the ordinary for a cat who is scared at the vet. While I am grateful for her help in the years prior to Covid, Dr. Belisle's age has left her bitter and not of sound mind anymore. Please do not bring your cat here if you are looking for a gentle and patient veterinarian. Edit in response to owner's reply: I am disappointed in the owner's response as they did not take any responsibility for the unprofessionalism they exhibited during my cat's appointment. Maybe the doctor didn't write in the record that my cat was not allowed to return, but she verbally said to me word-for-word that I should not bring my cat here ever again. Moreover, given the doctor's expertise, she should know not to call a domesticated cat "feral", especially when the cat did not attack the doctor in any way. Almost all cats are nervous and scared at the vet. It is the veterinarian's job to calm them and make the check-up go as smoothly as possible. I may not have veterinarian expertise, but I can tell when someone is unprofessional and unfriendly.

Welcome to Canton Veterinary Clinic

Canton Veterinary Clinic, located at 120 Tolman St #3860, Canton, MA 02021, USA, is a pet hospital serving the local community. Based on recent customer reviews, the clinic offers veterinary services primarily under the care of Dr. Belisle. The feedback presents a mixed view of the clinic, highlighting both positive aspects of personalized care and significant concerns regarding the professionalism and demeanor of at least one of the veterinarians.

Information regarding the specific environment of Canton Veterinary Clinic is limited in the provided reviews. However, one positive review mentions the clinic being within walking distance for a new resident, suggesting a convenient location for some local users. Typically, a pet hospital environment includes a reception area for clients and their pets, examination rooms for consultations and treatments, and potentially other areas for diagnostics, surgery, and patient recovery. The positive review mentioning a dog returning with a wagging tail after shots might suggest a welcoming or at least not overly stressful environment for some animals. However, the negative review paints a different picture of the interaction within the examination room, focusing on the veterinarian's behavior rather than the physical space itself.

The services offered at Canton Veterinary Clinic appear to include routine check-ups and vaccinations, as indicated by both positive and negative reviews. The positive feedback specifically mentions care for both cats and a new dog, suggesting that the clinic provides services for common household pets. Dr. Belisle is noted for taking the time to get to know the pet, implying a focus on individualized care rather than rushed appointments. This approach allowed a new dog to receive shots and still leave with a positive demeanor, according to one reviewer.

However, the negative review details an experience involving a cat's yearly check-up where Dr. Belisle's behavior was described as "unfriendly, rude, and unprofessional." The reviewer recounted being told not to bring their cat back, based on the cat being labeled "feral" despite not exhibiting aggressive behavior during the examination. This suggests a potential inconsistency in the approach to patient handling and client communication. The discrepancy between the positive experience of a dog owner and the negative experience of a cat owner indicates that the quality of service and the veterinarian-client interaction may vary.

A key feature highlighted in one positive review is Dr. Belisle's approach of taking the time to bond with the pet and get to know them, contrasting with clinics that offer quick, 15-minute appointments. This personalized attention could be a significant benefit for pet owners seeking a more in-depth and connected veterinary experience. The fact that a new dog had a positive experience despite receiving shots may also suggest a gentle handling approach in some cases.

However, the negative review raises serious concerns about Dr. Belisle's professionalism, communication style, and patient handling. Labeling a domesticated cat "feral" without any aggressive behavior, and then advising the owner not to return, suggests a lack of patience and potentially misjudgment in animal behavior. The owner's edit to their review further emphasizes their disappointment with the clinic's response, indicating a lack of accountability for the reported unprofessionalism. This raises questions about the clinic's overall approach to client feedback and service recovery.

Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. There is no mention of any special offers, discounts for new clients, or specific service packages that Canton Veterinary Clinic might be promoting. Local users would need to contact the clinic directly to inquire about such information.

In conclusion, Canton Veterinary Clinic in Canton, MA, offers veterinary services under the care of Dr. Belisle. While one positive review highlights a personalized approach and caring demeanor, particularly with a new dog, another detailed review presents significant concerns regarding unprofessional and rude behavior towards a cat and its owner. This discrepancy in experiences suggests that the quality of interaction may vary. Local users considering Canton Veterinary Clinic should be aware of this mixed feedback. The positive aspect of taking time to bond with pets may be appealing to some, while the serious allegations of unprofessionalism and mislabeling of a pet in the negative review warrant careful consideration.

Prospective clients may wish to seek further information about the clinic's approach to patient handling, communication protocols, and how they address client concerns. It would be prudent to inquire about the different veterinarians on staff, if any, and their respective approaches to pet care. Given the strong negative feedback alongside positive comments, local users may want to have a direct conversation with the clinic to determine if it aligns with their expectations for veterinary care and client service.

To learn more about the services offered, the team of veterinarians, and any specific policies or promotions, local users can contact Canton Veterinary Clinic at (781) 821-0794 or +1 781-821-0794. Visiting the clinic in person to assess the environment and interact with the staff might also provide valuable insights before making a decision about their pet's care.

We just moved to Canton and appreciate the care and nurturing that Canton Vet Clinic has offered our pets and to us as well. Dr. Belisle takes the time to get to know your pet and it’s not like other clinics where you have a quick 15-min window and your out the door. She takes the time to bond with the pet. Even with COVID our new dog got a few shots and still came back out with her tail wagging. We are excited to be living walking distance from the clinic and look forward to taking our pets there for everything and anything.

I’m floored seeing some reviews! since moving to the area, a family friend recommended Dr. Belisle and she is a great vet. She listens to our concerns about the care of our two cats and educates us on care. We had dental work done on my older girl and she is a new cat! We know that we will continue to go to her practice. All of her staff are wonderful and everyone there genuinely cares about the animals that walk through their threshold.

I brought my Lhasa, to CVC, and we met Susan first, who was so nice to my little boy! Dr. Belisle, was not only highly knowledgeable and professional, but very kind and caring to my dog. I'm very pleased that I found a great vet especially, near my home. My little Lhasa actually walks around the clinic wagging his tail. Thank you, CVC!

my mother used Dr Belisle when she was the mobile vet & then Bob became a patient when he entered Bill & my lives in 1989. we have had quite a number of furbabies in the last 30 yrs & dr Belisle has been their only physician except when she has told us someone had to get to Tufts quickly. she’s extremely patient, thorough, & knowledgeable, by staying up-to-date on medical issues. r guys & gals have been neutered, had teeth cleanings, ultrasounds, blood pressure checks, & regular checkups all at her clinic. we’ve always been very pleased.
