Serving the local community and beyond, Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic provides a range of veterinary services to ensure the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. As a comprehensive pet hospital, Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic offers a professional and caring environment for your pets. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance and facilities are not extensively available online, customer reviews offer some insights into the experience. One reviewer mentions the friendly and helpful nature of the receptionists and vet techs, suggesting a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for both pets and their owners. The dedication of the staff, particularly Dr. Storlie, who is described as patient and thorough, indicates a commitment to providing quality care.
The core function of Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic as a pet hospital is to provide a wide array of medical services for animals. Based on the positive feedback, these services likely include routine check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for illnesses and injuries. The mention of "aging dogs" being cared for suggests experience in geriatric pet care, which is a valuable feature for owners of senior animals. Furthermore, the ability to schedule urgent appointments, as indicated by one customer's experience (albeit contrasted with a negative one), implies that the clinic can address immediate health concerns.
A significant feature highlighted in the customer reviews is the staff's interaction with pet owners. The positive review praises the receptionists for their friendliness and efficiency in relaying messages to the doctor, ensuring that concerns are addressed promptly. This suggests a strong line of communication between the clinic and pet owners, which is crucial for effective pet care.
However, one critical review raises a serious concern regarding accessibility and staff training. This customer recounts a negative experience where their deaf husband, using the MN relay service, was allegedly dismissed when trying to make an appointment. In contrast, the reviewer, calling from overseas, was able to schedule an urgent appointment immediately. This incident suggests a potential lack of understanding or sensitivity among some staff members regarding communication with individuals with disabilities. This is a significant point for local users to consider, especially those who may rely on such services for communication.
Despite the generally positive experiences reported over the years by one long-term customer, this accessibility issue raises questions about the clinic's commitment to serving all members of the community effectively. It underscores the importance of businesses in the pet care sector being inclusive and ensuring that their staff are adequately trained to communicate with diverse clientele, including those with disabilities.
While specific promotional information is not available in the provided text, the positive feedback regarding Dr. Storlie's thoroughness and the friendliness of the staff could be considered a form of positive word-of-mouth promotion. The clinic's long-standing presence in the community, as indicated by the "used this vet clinic for years" comment, also speaks to a degree of trust and reliability among some pet owners.
In summary, Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic appears to be a pet hospital in Northfield, MN, that has generally provided positive experiences for many pet owners. They offer veterinary services, likely encompassing routine care and treatment for illnesses. The staff, particularly Dr. Storlie, are commended for their patient and helpful approach. However, a serious concern has been raised regarding the handling of communication with a deaf client using a relay service, highlighting a potential need for improved staff training in accessibility and inclusivity. Local users should consider both the positive feedback regarding care and the reported accessibility issue when making decisions about their pet's healthcare needs.
For local users seeking a pet hospital, Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic offers a physical address at 1200 South, 1200 MN-3, Northfield, MN 55057, and can be contacted via phone at (507) 645-8871 or mobile at +1 507-645-8871. It is advisable for potential new clients to inquire about the clinic's policies on accessibility and communication to ensure their specific needs can be met effectively.

May 10, 2025 · Jennifer DyrdahlINACCESSIBLE! We have used this vet clinic for years, generally positive experiences. Today my husband, who is deaf, called to make an appointment for our cat who is sick. He used the MN relay service which provides accessibility to deaf people. That's what he uses all the time. The receptionist told him they were busy, call back later in the week. I called myself a few minutes later-- from the UK where I'm on a business trip -- and they answered immediately and scheduled an urgent appointment for our sick kitty. Clearly the receptionist did not understand about the relay service, or just couldn't be bothered. Shocking. Keep in mind that this is the vet clinic that we regularly use for all our pets. It is critical that businesses that serve the general public have staff that are trained and sensitive to their clients with disabilities. Obviously Cannon Valley veterinary clinic has not engaged in this type of training. Or even some degree of common sense. I really have to think about whether this clinic is the best fit for our family and our pets.

Feb 23, 2025 · Ian Smith"I can't express how grateful I am to Dr. Cameron Duncan and Dr. Kasey DuBé for saving my dog's life. When my pet needed emergency surgery after hours, these two incredible veterinarians teamed up without hesitation. Dr. Duncan's surgical expertise was truly impressive. He performed the procedure with skill and precision, giving my dog the best possible chance at recovery. His calm demeanor and clear explanations helped ease my worries during a very stressful time. Dr. DuBé's, anesthesiologist, and assistance throughout the process was invaluable. Her compassion and attentiveness to both my dog and my concerns as a worried pet owner made a difficult situation much more manageable. The fact that they were willing to come in after hours to perform this critical surgery speaks volumes about their dedication to animal care. Their teamwork was seamless, and it's clear they both genuinely care about the well-being of their patients. Thanks to Dr. Duncan and Dr. DuBé's quick action and expertise, my dog made a full recovery. I couldn't be more thankful for their exceptional care and commitment. They truly went above and beyond, and I would highly recommend them to any pet owner in need of veterinary care, especially in emergency situations."

I was surprised when I received a hand written card and follow up calls asking how he was doing. It really shows how much they care! We couldn’t be happier with this vet clinic!
