Welcome to Cambria Veterinary Care

Cambria Veterinary Care, situated at 516 Broad St, Johnstown, PA 15906, USA, is a prominent "Pet Hospital" serving the local community with a steadfast commitment to animal health and owner satisfaction. As a vital part of the Johnstown area's pet care infrastructure, Cambria Veterinary Care provides a comprehensive range of veterinary services designed to support the well-being of beloved companion animals. For inquiries and appointments, they can be reached at (814) 288-8821 or via mobile at +1 814-288-8821.

The environment at Cambria Veterinary Care is frequently described by clients as "always clean" and "very well maintained." This dedication to cleanliness and upkeep contributes to a comfortable and reassuring atmosphere, which is essential for pets who may experience anxiety during veterinary visits and for owners during potentially stressful situations. While specific details on the architectural design or waiting area amenities are not widely publicized, the recurring mentions of a well-kept property suggest a professional and organized setting designed to facilitate efficient and pleasant visits for both pets and their human companions. The practice emphasizes creating a trusting relationship with pet owners, implying an environment where communication is encouraged and clients feel involved in their pet's care.

Cambria Veterinary Care offers an extensive array of services, covering various aspects of pet health from preventative care to advanced medical and surgical interventions. Their core services include pet wellness care, which is foundational to preventing diseases and maintaining long-term health. This typically involves routine examinations, tailored vaccination schedules to protect against common and regional diseases, and regular lab work for early detection of potential health issues. They also focus on screening for parasites and providing medications to prevent heartworm, flea, and tick infestations, which are crucial for both pet and public health.

Surgical services are a significant part of their offerings. Recognizing that surgical procedures can be a source of stress for both pets and owners, Cambria Veterinary Care strives to make the process as stress and pain-free as possible. Their veterinarians explain all available treatment options thoroughly, empowering clients to make informed decisions. Patients are carefully monitored throughout procedures, with pain management being a top priority. This commitment extends to various surgical needs, from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, ensuring comprehensive care when surgical intervention is required.

Dental care is another critical service provided, acknowledging the widespread prevalence of dental disease in pets. They offer routine dental cleanings, extractions, and potentially advanced procedures like dental radiographs, emphasizing the importance of oral health for a pet's overall well-being and to prevent pain and secondary infections. Beyond traditional veterinary medicine, Cambria Veterinary Care embraces an integrative approach to pet health, which is a notable feature. This includes offering acupuncture, an ancient Chinese treatment adapted for animals to help manage pain and various conditions. This multimodal approach to pain relief, starting with advanced diagnostics like digital imaging, underscores their commitment to improving pets' quality of life, especially as they age and may experience orthopedic issues.

The hospital also provides an online pharmacy, offering convenience for clients to order medications, diets, and supplies with the added benefit of free delivery on qualifying orders. This modern amenity reflects their effort to integrate technology for enhanced client convenience and access to necessary pet care products. They also provide access to a "Pet Portal" for scheduling appointments, and online patient forms, streamlining the administrative aspects of veterinary visits.

A key feature consistently highlighted in positive customer reviews is the knowledgeable and friendly staff and the veterinarians' deep care for their patients and their owners. Many long-term clients attest to receiving "outstanding care" for many years, emphasizing that the team truly cares about what's best for the pets. This personalized approach is further evidenced by their philosophy to be the "lifetime vet" for a pet, fostering strong, trusting relationships with families. They schedule extended exams and aim to accommodate sick pets on the same day, demonstrating their responsiveness to immediate needs.

However, it is important to note a contrasting review that details a negative experience, where a long-term client was "kicked out" after leaving a review. This specific incident mentions a concern regarding a veterinarian, Dr. V, who allegedly did not greet a new dog, causing disappointment to the owner, especially given their long history with the practice and numerous referrals. While this stands as an isolated negative account against a backdrop of many positive ones, it suggests that communication or handling of client feedback might have areas for improvement, particularly concerning long-standing relationships and expectations of consistent, personalized care.

In terms of promotional information, Cambria Veterinary Care highlights its commitment to a "family-run clinic" atmosphere and a focus on the "human-animal bond." Their emphasis on integrity, communication, and working together with pet owners signifies their practice philosophy. They consistently promote preventative care, recognizing its value in maintaining long-term health and potentially reducing future costs. While specific promotional offers like discounts on services are not widely advertised, their online pharmacy offers free shipping, which can be seen as a promotional benefit. The availability of online forms and a pet portal also promotes ease of access and convenience for existing and new clients.

Overall, Cambria Veterinary Care presents itself as a dedicated and comprehensive "Pet Hospital" that combines traditional veterinary medicine with advanced diagnostics and alternative therapies like acupuncture. With a strong emphasis on a clean, well-maintained environment, personalized care, and a compassionate staff, they strive to be a trusted partner in the lifelong health journey of pets in Johnstown, PA. While isolated negative experiences can occur in any service industry, the overarching sentiment from the majority of client feedback points to a practice that prioritizes quality care and strong client relationships.

Was kicked out of this vet after being a client for 12 years. Honestly it’s pretty upsetting… never heard of getting kicked out of a business for leaving a review. Had no issues ever until I got my new dog and Dr. V will not greet him when entering the exam room. Not even a bark out of him either. I’m not sure why she won’t give him the time of day. Have referred tons of people here and given them thousands of dollars while treating my animals..just really disappointed with the way they approached this with a long term customer…

They took care of my puppy as an emergency when she ate something that made her very sick. The vet was very thorough and caring as well as the technician. My pup felt better after their treatment and all turned out okay thanks to them.

I’ve been a long time client of Cambria vet. As long as they have been in business at the current location. As long as it’s routine maintenance, you know and they know your pet is healthy. All good. Doctor V will still try to sell you on things your pet doesn’t need but whatever it’s a business and you don’t have to fall for it. When your pet gets older and needs actual care. Forget it. That takes actual work. You pay for the shot and pay for the infirmary… Ok. Current day. New dog. 1/2 pit 1/2 cane corso. The sweetest boy if you get to know him, and you need to get to know him, as if he was your patient… She doesn’t take the time. Instead is scared of the breed and says he “looks healthy…” $100 and a shot. After me, the owner, has to put the muzzle on for her. Keep in mind my dog was patient in the waiting room. Not so much as a bark. Greeted the staff with manners etc. It’s clear she’s after a certain clientele and doesn’t really care. Unless it’s money and easy work. Needless to say we’ll be taking our pets care elsewhere. Two stars because the staff is great… Doctor V? At least she managed the needle.

We have been bringing our dog here for about a year and have been very happy with his care. Most recently, one of my chickens got ill suddenly and I was so happy to learn they take chickens!! Our girl’s crop wasn’t emptying and they took great care of her. When we picked her up a couple days later, they let us know that it’s about a 50-50 chance that she’ll recover because there wasn’t a clear reason why it wasn’t emptying. Well, our sweet Clara has thrived since the then. She spent about a week inside with us taking antibiotics and eating liquid food but is now reintegrating into her flock. I absolutely love this clinic. Thank you for everything!
